Excellent food, friendly service. Highly recommended to visit. Only downfall, is the location.
More than schnitzel. We were reluctant to try it because it advertized itself as "schnitzelhouse", and from experience this is not a good thing (except if it includes the traditional venison). The menu has many other items on it. The decor is casual and nice, with a large mural on one wall which give it a lot of character.
The reuben sandwich contained the traditional corned beef, even though the menu indicated it was Montréal smoked beef. It was good, and the accompanying fries and coleslaw were excellent.
A major feature of this restaurant is the house made pies. Both the pecan and the chocolate peanut-butter pies were excellent.
Jaeger schnitzel ist sehr gut.. We came here with a party of 8 to celebrate 3 anniversaries. The Granary has always been good but this visit came to be great.
They do have other things on the menu, but they have a separate page to do justice to the 9 or so schnitzels. In that respect it is rather like a creperie, with the schnitzel being the basic vehicle that they load with various sides/sauces etc. I had Jaeger Schnitzel (J=hunter) which was excellent. Ma femme had one with spinach and goat cheese, wow again, The other 10, well they pretty much cover the 9 S, one of which is the famous Wiener schnitzel.
Having scoffed that lot, we were presented with an immense cake, and yes we took some of it home.
