7.5 out of 10.. I'm somewhat of a Donair connoisseur, and I eat donairs from a standpoint of hunting for the most tasty donair.
So far I've tried a few donair places on Whyte ave, and this was one of the best.

UPS:
-The donair meat was hands down the best donair meat I've had in the whole city.
-He put lots of sauce on.
-It was hot.
-The pita was firm.
-He wrapped the donair both cleanly and beautifully. It was very tight so nothing could fall out. This guy is obviously a pro.
-There was just enough cheese!
-He didn't skimp on the veggies, but didn't put too much either.

NEUTRAL:
-He put pickles on it. Super freaking weird for a donair. Neither good or bad, tho.
-He put jalapenos on the donair. I actually liked that but I love jalapenos.
-The sweet sauce wasn't bad, but it wasn't the best. But he did put a really good amount on, which I appreciated very much. (it sucks when donairs don't have enough sauce.)
-Pita was kinda tough and chewy. Might be your thing, might not be. Keeps everything together nicely though.

DOWNS:
-Could have used a bit more onion and tomato (though I might be biased to desire extra anyway)
-It was pretty average-looking in size for a super donair.
-The place was kinda shabby looking inside, but I don't really care all that much because it still looked clean and the sign on the outside helped to make the character of the place come together.

Overall it was pretty good and I'd recommend this to anyone on Whyte ave looking for a good donair.

Best donair I've found in Edmonton so far. Yes I was sober and ordered 4 to take home. The sweet sauce is the closest yet to a Halifax donair (where the best and original Canadian style donairs came from). The meat is well spiced and the service was good for this style of business. Only suggestion is the pita bread should be grilled, not warmed in a steam table dish with the meat. I prefer the meat off the cooking spit but here they keep pre-cut/cooked meat in the steamer. Which isn't the worst though because you can be sure it's fully cooked. Fresh off the grill is still the best.

Best donair sauce to be had here in Edmonton and the owner is proud of his recipe that he claims to have gotten from a place in the East-Coast.

WTF is a "donair"? 3*/5. OK, so I'm an American who had never before heard of "donair". What an odd name for a food product; what it is, really, is gyros meat with more beefiness and less mystery. I, too, thought it strange that they have the meat back there on its vertical spit, but what they serve to you comes from a chafing dish where it sits in some kind of liquid. Once you order, the server places a pita on top of the meat in said dish and puts the lid back on for a few minutes, then takes it out and builds the sandwich. What results is a kind of wet pita wrap; additions for mine were onions, tomato (flavor-free), "cheese", hot peppers, and that weird sweet white sauce. Good beefy flavor, but next time I'm omitting the sweet sauce in favor of a good squirt of srirachi; tzatziki would be good, too, but I don't remember if it was available.

A Good Donair. I've visited this location a number of times now over the last year and predominantly while sober. It's consistantly offered good donairs and enjoyable service. The meat is well seasoned and moist without being greasy. Though the sauce is good it has on occassion been a bit too sweet for my personal preference. They also offer a range of fresh and pickled toppings and while I'm generally a purist when it comes to an East-Coast Canadian donair (tomatoes & onions only) I've ventured for adding hot peppers on occassion. I like the fact that they wrap it well here and serve it in a plastic sandwich bag so you can eat and walk with it without wearing it.

I haven't tried anything else on the menu or the other Queen Donair locations but this one's near enough to my neck of the woods. The bar crowds outside on weekends can be highlights or lowlights, depending on the night and your social preferences. Its worth stopping in all the same.

Disregard the misguided drunk guy below. I lived in Edmonton for four years and now live in montreal where you can't get donair( shistaouk has served me well in its place;) ). Anyways, this little hole in the wall ( literally, as it is connected to the front of an ever changing nightclub) serves the best donair I've had-drunk or sober. Best in edmonton by far, and better than its sister locations. I visit everytime I go back to see family. btw, if you like Boustans in montreal then you'll love this too. Long live the sandwich!

This is where you will find Edmonton's best donair. The meat is always perfect, and the sweet sauce is the best around. You'll also be offered a "hot sauce" which contains more flavour than spice. To top it all off you get terrific friendly service. Of all the donair places this one wins
