This is the best Chinese bbq in the city. The bbq pork has the perfect amount of fat to lean meat ratio to keep it moist and tender. The roasted pork is also very good and they make the best sausage also. The sauce they give with the meat is great on top of rice, no other place makes the sauce like they do. If you’re in a rush for a cheap good meal, try a lunch box, huge portions. I usually can’t finish it and will have enough for a 2nd meal.
We have been going here for years. Started with the oldest brother, then passed on to the sister and now to the youngest brother. Recipe hasn’t changed and still as delicious as ever.
Located in the same building at a great v-sun spot (John hoa 2) you will find a Chinese BBQ meat shop. Lunch box meals consists of 2 meats on a generous bed of white rice and sweet BBQ sauce (optional). For $7.50 it takes a big appetite to polish this box off. Another option is to buy just the meats and bring hoe. Your choice of BBQ pork, roasted pork, BBQ chicken/duck, sausage or ribs.
There's a reason why this place is still open, from booking a full pig for special occasions to lazy Saturday dinner cheats, this joint holds a very special place in my stomach. The duck....the skin, the drippings to the moist meat from the leanest cut is perfection. T&T doesn't compare. The BBQ pork and sausages along with the pig are awesome choices too! Parking is a mess during the morning of weekends(Asians all tend to do grocery shopping all at the same time) and it's dingy as heck but if you're looking for something to complete your white rice back at home, do yourself a favor and you won't regret it.
Lives up to its name. Clean/cheap/tasty!
That just about sums up this unpretentious BBQ place in Chinatown. The BBQ pork is firm, chewy and full of flavour. Buy it alone ($7.50/lb) or make it into a lunch box with fragrant rice and a sweet 'n' spicy sauce (for $6.00). They do run out of BBQ sausage pretty quickly........... finally got to try and it was good!
Line up. I was there on Monday afternoon and there was a big line up, I was going to give up but a friend told me I have to try them when I am in China town. Good thing I did, I ordered a whole BBQ Duck, some BBQ Pig, and BBQ pork, costed about $40, not too bad for what I got. They were all great when I got home, still hot, and very very tasty. The lady that cut up the meat for me was very friendly, constantly saying Thank you, and come back again. This is a must place to try out if you like Chinese BBQ, and I normally don't say it is a must try. Keep up the good work Lady, you were great with the smile.
Best Chinese Bbq in the city. The bbq pork is amazing. Unlike the other Chinese Bbq place the staff here are really friendly & can speak perfect english.
Another FAVE of mine. This is simply a great place for Chinese BBQ meats. Their quality is very consistent. You can't beat the "lunch box" for $5.50. The service is quick even when there's 10 people lined up. I think it's a brother/sister operation and they are very friendly. Makes me want to keep coming back even though I have to park around the block as I usually come during rush hour when there's no parking on 97 street. Try them out, you won't be disappointed.
Best duck ever!. This is a really good place for lunch. The duck is seriouly the best I have ever tasted. Watching the guy cut up the orders while standing in line was pretty entertaining as well. The price is right too $5.50 for the "Lunch Box". It comes with your choice of two meats, roast pork, duck, pork hocks, or chicken , and some white sticky rice. Over all if you work downtown, I really recomend trying it out.
