I have now found a third place in Alberta with proper poutine! One in Calgary where I live, one in Canmore and now Dixie Lee in Edmonton.
They have italian poutine and galvaude so they know their stuff! I've never found these two classic variations anywyere in Alberta so far. 20 years and nada.
Merci.
I like going to Dixie Lee, especially to pick on the owner! He's got a great sense of humour. Him and his staff go above and beyond to make sure you get the best food and service there is to offer in the restaurant/take out industry. I like there food and they keep the place very clean too! I would recommend Dixie Lee Whyte Ave to anyone out there suffering from hunger right now! Keep up with the great work!!! A+
We have been here a few times now for the fish and chips. Just loved the way it is lightly battered. We have also tried there chicken and poutine, Both are now my Saturday night pick up 10 piece meal for the kids and the fish for me.
Very clean place with wonderful staff. Last Friday night we ate in and the staff gave the kids some crayons and paper to keep busy and even offered them free ice cream. Not to many places do special things like this anymore,
It was good. The garlic fingers could have had a little more substance to them but the clams, fish and poutine were spot on. Will be back when I need a back home, whole clam fix!
It's pretty good. Very fast service (fast food so it should be). Place was quite busy and everyone seemed to be enjoying the chicken. I had fish and chips and it was exactly as greasy as one would expect. I'll come back to try the chicken for sure
