This place is great, I've never had a problem.
Not at their original location or their much nicer NEW place.
OMG...Best food ever and the Chicken udon to die for!
Decided to try this place out and I’m very impressed with this restaurant considering it’s in the North Side of the city. I always order take out and I special order items and every time they have gotten it correct! Make sure you order a bottle of their amazing apple salad dressing too! Price is awesome for a Japanese restaurant.
For a fast-food style restaurant, this place is serving up some serious sushi and sashimi that easily rivals higher end restaurants in the city. Their rolls are delicious and fresh and I appreciate that they don’t mask the showcasing fish/seafood with too much sauce. Their salmon sashimi is generously portioned and melt in your mouth tender. I get take out from here regularly and I’m never disappointed with their quality and consistency. The pride they have in their food is shown through the care they put into presentation even in take out containers.
You don’t get better then mt Fuji! They have the best sushi for the best price assortment of different types not to mention their chicken and beef tepenyaki are amazing as well
Good pricing for sushi, fast food restaurant style, the sauce is to die for..................................................................
My. Fuji for me is always an option for a quick takeout option as it's one of the few Japanese places on the north side. They are however moving to a new location (still on the north side), by the Griesbach area which I think is a welcoming change. They offer quite a variety of all things Japanese but more simplified. They have traditional Teppanyaki if that's what's you're into, not for show but just to cook food.
I always tend to get their Bento Box D #1 option as it's good value for your money. You get rice, 4 pcs of tempura, bean sprouts, 4 pieces of sashimi and 4 pieces of sushi. All for just $15 pretty much a steal. My girlfriend has this obsession with their Cones and always get their rainbow temaki handcones. And it's always packed full and rolled nicely. And each cone is only $3.75. Another steal in comparison to most places that charge $5 per cone. All in all, Mt. Fuji is a hidden Japanese gem and is always a great choice if you want quick & tasty Japanese food on the north side.
A family rub Japanese stir fry style food similar to "edo japan" such as beef and chicken with rice they also offer various sushi and sashimi. Price is very fair, portions are good. One of the cheaper places for decently good sushi. At around 9$ for a rice bowl, and starting at 3.75 for spicy sushi maki. I often choose this location over edo when im craving a filling stir fry meal. Highly recommended.
I adore this place! It is easily my favorite little close-to-home Japanese restaurant to stop by for a quick bite to eat. Ever since Mt. Fuji opened their doors a number of years ago, I've been coming to eat here regularly with friends. Not only is it conveniently located for me, but it is also pretty good quality overall for a very reasonable price.
I've honestly tried almost everything on the menu by now, and I have no complaints about any of the dishes. Considering it is somewhat "fast-food" style of sushi and Japanese cuisine known as "Teppan-yaki," it is very well done. I far prefer eating here than say at, Edo Japan or Tokyo Express, no questions asked.
I really love the beef teriyaki, sushi rolls, and bento boxes in particular. They are always dependably tasty, though I find that sometimes the sashimi can be a bit inconsistent in quality. One thing I do wish they had was teriyaki sauce offered with the teriyaki dishes, as they only really offer customers sesame sauce. While I find that many appreciate the sesame sauce, I prefer the teriyaki only, so having to ask for it every time is a bit of an annoyance.
Mt. Fuji is a phenomenal place to go for lunch, and I often go with friends to get my sushi fix. Just be cautious if attempting to dine during prime lunchtime hours, as it is often packed with military personnel all enjoying their lunch meal conveniently as well. Parking can also be trying, as there is not a lot of parking for this 40-seater restaurant during busy times considering the other businesses share parking in the same area.
Keep in mind they do offer take-out options though if you don't feel like dining in or are in a hurry. Another additional option is the party tray that they can make if you decide to order one for a party or gathering that you'd like to have. Overall, I highly recommend you try out the food here!
Oh Mt. Fuji... I have to say that this location is a residential gem and I actually never get sick of the menu here, HA I'm such a pig. Staff is always friendly and familiar. Never had any temaki or sashimi here but I've had some of the maki, lots of salmon skin maki (BC ROLL
I've been here a few times whenever I felt like some Japanese food. It's not as high quality as some of the other Japanese restaurants in the city, but very reasonable for their prices. I tried the Beef and Chicken Teppan-Yaki and it was quite delicious and filling. Definitely way better than going to somewhere like Edo. The maki is decent as well...I got some chop chop maki to round out the meal. Overall, quite happy with this place for some fast Japanese food with decent quality.
MAY2017 -Finally a new location! This place still offers the great food and now a more welcoming, updated location! The wait times for dine-in were a big on the long side. Hopefully once they get settled and get in the hang of things everything will pull together.
NOV2015 -Over the past three years I've frequented this location every couple of months. For the prices that are offered here, I can eat like a Queen! Walk in hungry, and leaving stuffed! The Beef Teriyaki is really good! I love the sesame sauce as well!!! The only negative I can say is the place needs a make over. The orange walls and fabric display photos just are cutting it anymore.
