I've been to Ninja Club a few times and I've always enjoyed the food there. Obviously, you can't compare the ramen here to ramen in bigger cities (i.e. Vancouver). Given the limited ramen places in Edmonton, it's pretty good. They also have sushi, sashimi, donburi and other small snacks. Restaurant is pretty small with limited seating so RSVP if you have a bigger group during busy times. Worth a try!

Personally enjoyed lunch at this place. Seems like a great place for students for Japanese ramen. Not a big fan of the maki rolls, as there was a too thick layer of rice that overpowered other ingredients to be tasted. Japanese ramen was good. Menu was hard to read as it was handwritten. Small and tightly spaced tables, but the food is well-priced and well-prepared.

I was skeptical of eating here because of the reviews but I wanted to give it a fair shot being that it's fairly new and that they are trying to make a name for themselves on Whyte Ave and stand out from the rest of the one hit wonders who eventually fizzle out.
I liked it! Now, I'm not a ramen connoisseur and Iv only had it once or twice but I do know good food and I have high standards when it comes to letting someone else cook my food and I pay them to do it.
I had the tantan ramen with a Japanese egg and beef. The broth was nicely seasoned with lots of flavor and a little spicy, the egg added the creamy factor and the noodles were chewy and cooked to my liking.
I'm glad I trekked through the snow to make it here because it was exactly what I was wanting! I'll be back and I may try some sushi...

THE RAMEN IS SO GOOD. Nomiya is no longer in the picture for me. This place has the best Ramen in the city. I always get the Tan Tan Ramen (if you want extra toppings you pay extra! Duh!) I mean earls charges you $3 for a slice of cheese. I highly recommend any Ramen but the other foods I wouldn't have high expectations if I ordered them.

Adore this place! It isn't much in terms of the interior, but after living in Japan I am comfortable saying this is the best authentic ramen in Edmonton. The owners are also very kind and always open to advice and criticisms; all they really want at the end of the day is for you to enjoy your food!

If you want a really authentic bowl of ramen, ask for them to make it heavy/authentic; they tone down the oil for our western palates, but ordering a bowl like this always reminds me of a late night bowl in Tokyo.

Mmmm....Ramen!. Just tried Ninja Club for the first time last night and it was great! I had the Tantan ramen and, while originally it was a little bland, a quick dash of soy sauce and hot sauce made it absolutely delicious! The gyoza was amazing, as well, and the service was great - we had the sweetest server. The only thing I was disappointed about was that they have shark fin as part of their menu. =( Considering how horrific the shark finning industry is, I was really disheartened to see this at such a nice place; I hope they take it off the menu soon, for ethical reasons. Actually, I didn't even know it was legal to serve in Canada but I guess it is? Shame. Other than that one item, though, the place, service, and food were great and I'd highly recommend giving them a try! =)

Friendly service.. Sushi was delicious! Hand made when you order. I really liked the atmosphere; even though it's on Whyte ave it seems very local.

Nice Little Place. I came here on the weekend and tried the kimchi ramen which I enjoyed. I would like to come back and try some of the other ramens. The only problem I had is that their entrance door doesn't latch or close on its own. I was sitting by the door and I had to keep running to shut the door so I didn't freeze!

Came here for the ramen, shoyu ramen was tasty, service was great, the only thing I didn't like was how they charge extra for an egg, corn, etc. restaurant is clean and welcoming, overall I liked it and would come back

Ninja Club delivered its advertising promises of authentic Japanese ramen with its dense flavours and excellent soup base. And while the sashimi could have been improved, Ninja Club still created solid food that should warrant a visit from anyone in the area for ramen.

Ninja provides the only authentic Japanese Raman (made by Japanese) in the city. It is a family run hole in the wall tucked away in a small space on whyte between gateway and calgary trail on the N side of whyte. As stated previously service is humble and polite, as a regular I feel very welcome. The reviewers who are holding up nomiya as a more appealing alternative wouldn't know good Raman if it jumped up and bit them. Pre-made, chemical laden mediocrity - at best. Ninja is not up to the standard you would expect in the better Raman places in Kyoto or Tokyo, or Vancouver for that matter. But it is the best we have in this city, it's not currently very well known or busy. If you like authentic Raman this is your best bet in the Gateway to the North

If it wasn't for the food, I really enjoyed the humbleness of the staff. They were super polite and didn't mind when we accidentally stayed half an hour past closing! Their menu was a bit limited but they indicated they're in the process of revamping it. I'll have to visit again to try their new editions. Rolls and sushi were pretty standard but had a good 'comfort sushi' feel to it. I was more happy with the atmosphere than anything. When the server found out I was going to Japan, she came over and gave me a few really useful pointers! It's hard to put a value on staff who actually care.

Not bad for such a small place.. Being a huge ramen and Japanese lover myself, i decided to give this place a try after seeing the mixed reviews. Very small place (20 seats). After seeing the handwritten menu (some is confusing to read), I kept it simple, i ordered a Tan Tan Ramen and some uni and toro nigiri sushi....i received my ramen after waiting about 10-12 min first which was shortly followed by the sushi. Overall i found the flavor of the broth pretty rich flavor, not too spicy, the noodles was a different kind of ramen noodle but i did like the smoothness and the al dente texture of it, some people who reviewed complained the egg was cold, mines was cold too...i think they just precook theirs and store them in the fridge afterwards until someone orders one. The sushi was pretty decent as well, the uni and toro were both quite fresh, uni was quite sweet and the toro was very fatty and very reasonably priced at $3 per piece, not the best i've had but definitely above average.

Pros: use of good quality products (noodles/fish/tea etc.)
feels Japanese inside since its Japanese owned (including music), mom/paps type place

Cons: needs better air ventilation/bathroom is difficult to get to/parking can be difficult depending on time of day
could use more broth in their ramen bowls and the toppings are pretty weak/too basic
there is pretty much just 1 server, i could see/expect service being quite slow if the place gets busy or full

Overall i would definitely return again and try other items, i think if this place can work out their issues, it definitely has potential to be better and to be located in a pretty high traffic location.

Give the place the try. The restaurant just opened and is trying their best to figure out the kinks. Food came out fast , ramen was large . I missed the fine print and forgot to order my egg. Honestly for the price you pay this place is honest and good. What really got me was when the head chef asked how our meal was and was genuinely happy when we said it was good. Kind soul and it shows on his face. All In all - don't be mean and give this try a place .

Our new go to!. Just noticed this place as we sauntered by over weekend and made a point of going tonight. As it turns out the owners used to run an independant sushi bar in the Sobey's on Jasper Ave before it closed. I've spent time in japan and the food at Ninja is authentic as it gets.

There's a few small kinks to work at this new spot (as all new places do!) but the service was genuinely friendly and the dishes were perfect. Seriously. Perfect. That never happens. Perfect temperatures, wonderful combinations of flavour and texture, and beautiful presentations. We stuck with the sushi this time around. The unagi nigiri was among the best i've had. The spicy tuna roll was delightful; not too spicy and with carved pieces of fresh tuna (not the chopped, shredded, or cooked pieces some places serve). They Dynamite roll was simply exceptional.

We've already decided to go back; it's just a matter of when. We were one of the few tables who didn't have a bowl of ramen in front of us, and I plan to remedy that in the very near future!

So I guess Ninja Club is relatively new but more excitingly, this place has RAMEEEEEEEEEEEEEN. Yes, you read right, there’s finally a place in town that has good ramen! Yes, yes, let’s forget about other Canadian cities for a moment (*cough cough Calgary, Toronto, Vancouver), that already have quality ramen. All you need to know is Ninja Club has a pretty good bowl of ramen for Edmonton standards...

I'M IN LOVE WITH DA RAMEN... Ninja Club's main focus is on ramen and with an offering of 5 ramens for around $10-$12, it's affordable. They also have sushi and donburi (rice bowl dishes), though. I know many people are wondering how Ninja Club compares to Nomiya, especially if you follow me on Snapchat cause I never replied to my own question in my Snapchat story :P Read the end to find out!

We ended up at Ninja Club for lunch, Edmonton’s newest Japanese restaurant, offering sushi, sashimi, bento boxes and combination plates. But you all know what we were there for. Ramen! I’m all about ramen. Ramen Noodles Edmonton’s ramen scene kind of exploded last year and I’m all for it. It’s one of my favourite dishes to eat, top three dishes for sure. I even went on a ramen overload on my latest trip to New York (posts up will come eventually!). So I was excited for another option in the city, with the owners and servers being Japanese and offering their authentic cuisine! The shop is located across from the main Fat Frank’s location on Whyte Avenue...
