Everything we had was tasty! The Trpoika Chicken was delicious and you could taste the seasoning all throughout the meat. Satay beef and lamb we so delicious and tender. Good service too.
One of my favorite restaurants in Edmonton for Thai and Malaysian food. I am in love with their Roti, satays and green chicken curry. Every item I have ever tried there has been amazing short of an incident that occurred back in 2010 where some guests of ours ordered a menu item and they brought out a cold wet boiled chicken and refused to take it off the bill. But other than that really great food and friendly service!
Whenever I'm craving satay, roti, or anything spicy, I always come to Tropika! Generous portions, great flavouring, friendly service, and decent prices!
Good food and good service but the lighting for me is a bit dark. The spices in their food is very traditional. Will surely go back to this place
Tried their hk style milk tea. It's not great but decent for what we can get in this area. The size is reasonable for the price. Not a bad contender.
I have always liked Tropika for their Malaysian cuisine. The city does not have much Malaysian restaurants. But Tropika does it well. But now I like it even more because they have added a Hong Kong cuisine menu (from sister company Tropika De Cafe). I went here with my husband and baby boy. They gave him a colorful kids plate and cutlery to use which kept him entertained for a bit. The service was friendly and eloquent. Food presentation and taste was amazing! I recommend the Hainanese Chicken Rice and Soup combo, lamb chicken satays, flat rice noodles with beef and the lamb curry. You can also adjust the level of spice to most dishes to your liking. Bon Apetit!
Great service and food got so much better! Went with the fam jam and my toddler was making a jabroni of a mess. The servers were all very cool about it, and he was just throwing dishes around. Totally was not a good time to take him out by they said what every parent loves to hear, kids will be kids we have them too. Come here with your fam jam i totally recommend and it has been nicer since there food selection has gone way up. There menu now includes the menu from tropika de cafe in Southside of Edmonton. Hong kong style dishes very good i totally recommend the bbq pork and the pork belly ( pork belly only on weekends ) they totally need to serve the pork belly during the week.
Food was fantastic. But the service was the most impressive part. Server took the time to know our names and was very friendly and helpful. Extremely genuine and kind person. Too bad his name has escaped me.
Best place for Malaysian food in the city! Tropikia has never seized to amaze me, I find myself coming back here over and over again! I walked into Tropikia and instantly was seated and served by a nice mannered young man. Our server's name was Anson, he brought water to us the minute we sat down and ask if we needed anything else. Today we bought the homestyle chicken and meegoo reng noodles, I cannot express my love towards this franchise. The food was perfectly cooked to perfection like always. The desert didn't disappoint, we got the deep fried bananas and it was amazing! I will be coming back here again. I hope everyone that views this review will have the same experience that I always have.
The multi-ethnic and multi-cultural composition of Malaysia is certainly translated in its food, which can be described as Chinese- and Indian-inspired, with a Malay twist. Though there are slim pickings for Malaysian restaurants in Edmonton, Tropika has always been one of the long-standing pioneers, serving a mix of Malaysian and Thai cuisine.
