It is definitely the best donair in the city... we drive all the way from Stony Plain when we get a craving. :) I will even brave 118th at night to grab one, haha.

Not just the best donair in Edmonton, it is the best donair anywhere. Amazing amount of homemade meat and fresh veggies. Quality matters at this place!

Craving a Donair.. So tonight as I got a bad craving for a donair and it was already late 11pm. I busted out Urbanspoon to find a fair rated spot and made haste! I arrived at my original destination that was nearby only to find the hours changed and they were no longer open till midnight but 11pm. So I was driving away and spotted Donair Express and decided to stop in. This place is very date but fairly clean inside and was greeted with a smile and hello. I looked up at the menu and what I wanted was a Jumbo which was priced at 10$ which is more than the usual 9$ jumbo/super I'm used to but I gave into my craving and bought it anyway. The Donair wasn't massive as I expected being they have 3 sizes reg/super/jumbo, I would say the size would have been fair as a super. The meat wasn't shaved on the spot like I'm used to instead it was in a pan on grill and you can hear it sizzling. This gave the meat a slightly different flavour mildly a gas flamed taste which actually wasn't terrible but could be a put off for some. The amount of tomato/lettuce was more than I'd like and I asked for just a little. The sweet sauce used tasted good and wasn't overly sweet like I've tasted at some places.

In the end although it was priced a lil higher and not as large as expected I enjoyed the donair. I wouldn't say best donair to be had in city but at the time of night and nothing being opened it was a decent donair and I'd eat there again under same circumstances.
