If you're looking for quality ramen in the suburbs then this is the place to go. Nomiya now makes there own noodles and they did not disappoint. A nice chewy texture and balanced miso soup, I was pleasantly surprised as in house made noodles can be a disaster. I had the black garlic miso ramen, which was heavy in the garlic but went well with the miso and toppings. The meat was fatty and tender and the soup salty. The restaurant space was small and can fill up quickly during meal time. But the turnover in customers is quick and the service excellent. Baby friendly as the bathrooms have a change table and car seats for nicely on the chairs. Looking forward to coming here for my ramen fix if I don't want to drive too far from home.
Tried THE BEST BC roll I've ever had; it was so crunchy with the perfect combination of salty savory. The menu can be a bit overwhelming but worth it once you navigate it. Excellent service to boot :)
Sushi and Udon
Large menu with plenty of variation! From sushi platters, to bentos, to Udons! Service was fast and very friendly! All tables were filled up within 10 minutes of us being there on a Saturday night but we still managed to get our food relatively quickly! Food was fresh and very good but pricier then we are used to for sushi! We will definitely go again mostly because of the sheer number of options that one can order but probably not often due to price.

This is the second location for Nomiya. This one does not have the Ramen as it is not the chef's specialty at this location.
I was lucky enough to sit right up at the bar and watch the chef work away at rolling and slicing all of the sushi and sashimi. It was like watching an artist paint on canvas.
When I am going to a Sushi restaurant that I haven't been to before, I always like to order the Chirashi. It gives me an idea of what the freshness and quality of the fish is. I was quite impressed.
At any other place that I have had the Chirashi, they have not offered butterfish. It is amply named. It melts in your mouth like butter and is very tasty.
Our dinner companions also ordered the house specialty roll which is called a "Gold Digger". It has 24K gold flakes, foie gras, asparagus and beef tenderloin. It was really, really good!
Our friends rave about this place and tell us how well the staff take care of them when they come in for dinner. That care and attention was very visible during our visit as well. The family seems to really take pride in their food and the planning of the menu.
This is on the other side of the city for us, I wish they were closer so that we could be regulars too!
This location is very small. I know I have tried to make reservations before and they have not had space for a large group. Phone ahead so that you won't be disappointed!
The food is pretty decent! I love the sarabon combo, one of the best in Edmonton so far. Won't return to the Heritage one due to bad experience, but I would recommend this restaurant if you would like to have sushi sometimes!
It's kind of weird when you first come in because the servers are just standing by the sushi chef area staring at you. But the restaurant isn't that big so I can see why that's their designated spot.
Decent food, decent service. Beef carpaccio is my favorite!
Also charges for refills. So.... Yeah.

Decent place!. Went to the Nomiya on Calgary Trail but it was packed and the wait time was 25 minutes, so I drove a bit further to this Nomiya location. Service was good. Fast and friendly. Food was decent. Been here before and I usually go for the ramen. The ramen is always good. This time I got the chicken kara age, crispy fried baby octopus, crispy fried squid, jellyfish salad and beef tataki. The food was good, but not as good compared to Izakaya Tomo. I will be back for the ramen, but not so sure on other items.
I and my friends absolutely LOVE this place. Our server was a font of information and always available to answer our questions and had a great attitude. Our group truly enjoyed the dishes we chose and look forward to checking out the rest of the menu next time. Next time, I'm going to take pics and post a review right away so that I can remember the names of the dishes.
Very good service and food like other Nomiya. But we are disappointed there is no ramen here just udon! Hope it changes!
