This is hands down my go to place for Korean fried chicken. It is a great place to go anytime - whether it be lunch or a midnight snack. It is a great place to drink in the company of a few friends too. Their soju is not overpriced.

I typically order Combo C with soy garlic chicken. Did you know that you could substitute fries for rice at no extra charge? Now you do! The chicken is very well seasoned here. In comparison to SFC, the chicken here is crispier (which I do love very much) and the flavors are balanced well. Asides from chicken, their poutines are amazing. My favorites are the kimchi and bulgogi flavored ones!

The only downfall about this place is the limited seating. There are five tables total and sometimes there is nowhere to sit so I end up going elsewhere. This seems to be the case with all fried chicken places, however. The atmosphere isn’t very different from a typical late night diner, but it’s not terrible.

Overall, this place is definitely worth a try if you are interested in trying some Edmonton exclusive fried chicken!

Fun and unique place to eat, strange atmosphere but that’s part of the fun. Prices or great, open late if you want a fun late night snack.

The fried chicken here is amazing. Pretty much my Go-To place when I have the fried chicken cravings. Seoul Fried Chicken is good too but they lack any spicy flavors. I don't know what it is about the chicken that they use at ItDog, but it's soooo tasty! Usually I get the 5-piece Chili or Sweet&Spicy. Some times I'm feeling brave and get the HARDCORE chicken. Warning: it's pretty friggin spicy. If you get the hardcore, make sure to get the sauce on the side so you are not regretting it after.

The Hardcore Poutine here is also one of my favorites.

I don't really recommend any of the hotdogs here. They are pricey and won't satisfy your hunger. If you want a hotdog, go to Costco lol

Heard about this from my other dog friends Herman and Cheeto. Tastey meat in bun with lots of toppings. Was alittle sad no other dogs where there but a human dropped some sauce on the floor and I licked it up. Four and half paws out of five paws.

A local Garneau area fave. Small location that you can't blink or you will miss driving down 109st. Bulgogi poutine fries...surprisingly delicious. The sweet and salty combination is a great taste that was quite unexpected. Fried chicken was also decent....but on the high side compared to other fried chicken places. Blasting k-pop music on the speakers and TV was also interesting....

It' dog sells Korean street food and is located off whyte ave. I tried the bulgogi hotdog and it was delicious. My friend had the hardcore dog which lived up to its name. It was filled with sriracha n jalapeños. The portion was very filling too

Absolutely delicious chicken! Crispy, flavourful, well prepared. The garlic sauce is my favourite, and their hot dogs are creative combinations with a great bun.

Popped in here for a quick bite. This place is all about chicken and dogs. I was in the mood for chicken and was having a hard time choosing because everything on the menu sounded delicious, so I told the gentleman who was taking my order to surprise me. He said the Soy Garlic Chicken was really popular, so SGC it was! And man it was GOOD! I love fried chicken, I mean who doesn't!?!. But I am often disappointed when I order it - This chicken however was cooked to perfection! Juicy inside and the batter was crispy and seasoned nicely - The perfect amount of sweet and salty. Only complaint I have is the fries I was served appeared to be McCain crinkle fries.. Which is a huge letdown at any restaurant, in my opinion. Homemade fries are super easy to make so there's just no excuse for anything else. But when I look at the photos others have posted on here, the fries in those pics look totally different and appear homemade at that.. So perhaps they were just ran out of potatoes that day? Here's hoping because then they would have scored a 5/5 from me.

Really liked this place because the prices are so student friendly and also the poutine that I had tasted quite good. If you are around North Campus then do check it out.
I have been here a couple of times now and I think it's my favourite place to get Poutine. My experiences have been a little inconsistent though. They could work on that.

Some of the best fried chicken I have had! The hotdogs are tasty as well but I wish they had more condiment options. Unfortunately, I am one of those people that likes to put everything and the kitchen sink on their hotdog. I was even surprised that there was no hot sauce for my fried chicken. Ah well. Still tasty!

My boyfriend and I were roaming Whyte Avenue trying to look for Seoul Fried Chicken (we were both craving Korean fried chicken), only to find out they were sold out of Chicken and wouldn’t have anymore until 5:30. he had class at 6:00, so we settled on It Dog just off of Whyte Avenue.

It Dog is a “order at the counter and pick it up yourself” kinda place. It’s decorated with Comic book posters and blasts Kpop music all through out the restaurant. I settled on the “Meal” ($9) which included 2 pieces of chicken, your choice of sauce, and fries or salad. Their choices of salad were: coleslaw, macaroni and pickled radish. I chose macaroni and I was really craving rice (Filipino problems), so I got a a side of rice for $2. I tried Spicy mustard for my chicken, and Paulo got Sweet Spicy. The chicken was perfectly fried, and smothered in our choses sauces. The macaroni salad I ordered lacked flavour, although the rice was surprisingly good as it was more on the sticky side.

Perfect casual spot to grab a beer and eat Korean fried chicken. They also have “dressed up” hotdogs for $8 such as Butter chicken dog and Kimchi dog. They also have poutine which I am excited to try next time!

Pretty damn good!
Well...I left home for a donair...and wound up here. So perhaps...it was a healthier alternative...
As I don't make it to Whyte Ave. all that often these days, I had to have a few items to make the trip worthwhile...yeah....that's my reason...

Anyway.
I decided upon a Butter Chicken Dog.
A Chilli Poutine...and a Korean Spicy Chicken Skewer.
Each item was uniquely satisfying in it's own right. Dog was juicy. Bun really good. Toppings all flavourfull and fresh.
Poutine was put together well and not just a big mess. Chicken was well cooked and savory. Topped off with a bottle of "house" water, my total was ~$22.
Not too shabby for 3 offerings.
I look forward to returning and delving deeper into their menu!

Best sweet and spicy fried chicken, a perfect crunch holds up even with the sauce slathered on generously. Tried the dry fried chicken too, mild spicy and loads of crunch. Perfect when sipping a beer and chilling with friends, portable if you don't get the sauce, but the sauce is so good you may not mind the mess.

The restaurant kind of had a funny smell to it when we walked in, but I got used to it after a little while. They have quite a few topping options, and you can switch from a hot dog to a smokie or bratwurst. I got a spicy chicken poutine, and can imagine that the fried chicken is very good, just from the bit I got on the poutine. The place isn't fancy by any means, but good for grabbing some food for a casual meal.

I am late to the hot dog game in town. Yes, I’ve known about It’ Dog and The Dog since they’ve opened a few months ago but both haven’t been on my priority list to check out. A few friends have gone previously and their impressions were lukewarm. Well, I’m always in the Whyte Ave area these days and after 4.5 hours of straight tennis, I needed something to eat before I passed out from a lack of carbs consumed.

...chicken from It’ Dog, so I’ve really had a good chance to compare them. It first opened up a few months back, and since then I’ve had the chance to go here a few times now with a variety of different people (I lost some pictures, so I kept having excuses to go back). Since being here, I’ve also had the chance to go to The Dog  so I can really compare the hot dogs from both places.

Unbelievable!  Got to try It' Dog tonight.  Was very excited to try it. And it was absolutely excellent!  Loved it!  Everything was great except the poutine.  We asked for and paid for the Bulgogi poutine but we just received a regular poutine which was less than standards.  I'd suggest skipping the poutine - especially with a great poutine option right across the street.

Get your KFC here!. Love this little joint! I got the Beef Rib Dog for myself and a Chili Dog for my niece. Also got an order of KFC! The dogs were good but the KFC was to die for. Just awesome! They were crispy, hot and huge! Couldn't finish the KFC so I brought it home. Still tastes good after reheating them in the toaster oven. Will come back again for the KFC!

Chicken? It's all about the Dogs!. Contrary to most reviews I actually loved the hotdogs here! They are juicy, piled high, and served on a thick pretzel bun. The Bolgogi Dog is my suggestion for first timers. As for the chicken, it's crunchy, piping hot, and slathered in sauce-- pretty decent chicken. Overall, expect to pay about $15 per person. Free parking behind restaurant.

Skip the dogs. get the chicken.. We had it dogs & bulgogi dogs and neither were impressive.

the juicy, crispy, sauced-up fried chicken, on the other hand, is great - and good value too. I will return here just for the chicken.

Fried Chicken was Awesome!!! Hot Dogs were a little disappointing =(. I was super excited to try this place as I'm a big fan of both hot dogs and fried chicken. First the good, I thought the fried chicken, despite being a little oily, was excellent. I got the orignal fried chicken and I thought it was very moist, crispy, and very tasty and probably some of the best fried chicken I've had in Edmonton. On the bad side, for a place called It' Dog, I expected better from the hot dog. It looked quite fancy, however, wasn't very tasty. I honestly thought it tasted like a Costco hot dog, but spruced up in a pretzel bun with premium toppings, but for the price, I didn't think it was worth it. Tubby Dog is Calgary is much better if you're looking to compare also.

Excellent. Ate here for the first time today. Had the Hardcore Dog, which was very good. An interesting take on hotdogs, they combine Korean with hotdogs. Not sure if thats actually a Korean thing or just a North American thing. The fried chicken was amazing too, I had the sweet and spicy.

I will definitely come back and try something different. I think some of the negative reviews are from people who don't understand the restaurant's concept. The food presentation is good and the food itself is high quality.

'Dog with a backbone :). I have a love-hate relationship with hot dogs. Sure, they are ubiquitous and generally tasty, but somehow I never manage to finish one without the cheap white bun disintegrating into messy gloop!
It Dog, a newish Korean-style hot dog joint is a pleasant change. Their hot dogs (7-9 bucks each and pretty filling) come on mildly sweet pretzel buns with the right degree of chewiness (is that a word?) and remains intact till the last bite. This by itself would have hurled them to the top of hot dog standings, but having a range of spicy unique (at least for Edmonton) toppings doesn't hurt either.
The young people who run this place appear to be slightly clueless but still manage to be friendly and fast.
Good choice for decent 'dog and some different flavours!

Should be called it'chicken. This place is really good, or at least half the menu is. The fried chicken here is the tops, and usurped my only recently crowned champion of Edmonton's best fried chicken. The breading is crisp, the meat is juicy and tender, the flavour is out of this world! However, their flagship product; hotdogs are lackluster at best. Despite using big juicy dogs and a cavalcade of interesting ingredients, these admittedly creative hot dogs are nothing more than novelty in practice. In each of the incarnations that I've tried, the hotdogs seemed to be missing a certain something, and always lacked unity. The hotdog often felt out of place, as if they threw together a hoagie and just decided to throw a hotdog in the mix as an afterthought. its like it has the "epic meal time" mentality that if you stack food on top of other food it constitutes a coherent meal, and that the more out-of-left-field you get the better it is. On top of that, the price is crazy for what even a good hotdog will usually run you at. Their most basic dog will run you at $5, meanwhile you can get a hotdog at Costco that's just as good (or close to it) for $1.50, and that comes with a drink!
Check this place out, enjoy the phenomenal fried chicken, its more than enough for me to recommend this place despite its kind of disappointing hotdogs.

Hardcore Dog was exactly that.. I chose It' Dog the other night as I was curious if Edmonton had a gourmet hot dog joint. After a visit to Urban Spoon I found just what I was looking for. Upon entering the restaurant, the assembly line of employees were inviting and quick to take my order. After a short 3 minute wait my Hardcore Dog was ready to satisfy my stomach and it did just that. The toppings were spread evenly garnished with 2 spicy red chili peppers and a few jalapenos. The ground beef and sriracha sauce were flavourful and it all fit in nicely inside the soft pretzel bun, which is in fact almost the best part of the dog. The reason I say this is most loaded dogs fall apart and get soggy but with a sturdy bun, it all stays in place delivering flavour each bite.
I was a bit unsure how filling the hot dog would be so I opted out on fried chicken. I guess it all depends how hungry you are but the hot dog wasn't very filling after all so I figure I would try the sweet and spicy fried chicken. A little pricey for two pieces of fried chicken especially when you could get a full roasted chicken at Sobey's for the same price. It wasn't overly greasy but it's fried chicken, you should expect a bit of grease. The best part of the chicken was the crunch followed by the sweet part of the sauce - the spicy could have used a bit more kick.

I'll definitely be back to try all the other hot dogs.

I tried the Korean fried chicken last week and I was a fan. The coleslaw was passable - pretty standard fare. The sweet-spicy chicken sauce is on the thin side compared to other chicken places I've had in Edmonton. The batter on the chicken was crunchy well seasoned. I'd definitely go back.

Delish dogs and chicken. After reading the reviews and after walking by this place several times over the past week or so, I popped in to see what it's all about. I ordered the Hardcore Dog and 5 pieces of the sweet and spicy chicken. Overall, both were incredibly tasty.

Now, the details . . .

I finished the Hardcore Dog in no time simply because I was hungry. The dog is a juicy and satisfying hot beef weiner and the bun, as many reviewers have stated, is much denser tha a more traditional hot dog bun and it is sweeter (similar to the buns you'd find at a Chinese supermarket such as T&T) but not nearly as sweet like a donut as some reviewers have led me to believe. I like how the dense sweet bun contrasts with the savoury salty weiner and toppings. Even though the toppings included red Thai peppers and sliced jalapenos, I didn't feel any heat but, then again, I'm immune to heat simply because I eat A LOT of hot spicy foods. Overall, it was delicious and filling.

The sweet and spicy chicken is more sweet than spicy and I have to profess I would have preferred much more spice (I love heat). The batter is incredibly crispy and holds up quite well despite being doused in all that sauce. At first, I was debating whether to order 10 pieces since I was quite hungry but, after devouring my meal, I was glad I had ordered only five pieces. They were filling, piping hot, fresh, moist, crispy, and flavourful and there was lots of sauce at the bottom of the wax paper-lined tray for smearing onto the chicken.

The interior of the diner has seating for probably no more than about 24 or 26 people at most. I didn't walk in last week because when I glanced into the window I saw all seats were taken and I hate dining inside any place that's filled to maximum capacity (chalk it up to claustrophobia, I guess).

It' Dog accepts debit, cash, Visa, and M/C but not American Express.

Not sure if i'll come back for a hot dog but chicken? Yes yes and yes!. I liked my deep fried chicken a lot... it was $12 or $13 for 5 pieces and you can't mix and match like Coco's (i.e. get 5 or 10, but half with sauce, half not). So in that sense I feel ripped off to pay $12 for 5 plains and $13 for 5 sweet and spicy... but can't pay the discount price of $21 for 10 pieces and have half half... see the scheme here? Not cool but well played, sirs.

Another thing - you think there's no option for tap water but it does exist so don't pay for that $2.50 pop if you want to save yourself from diabetes or save some money or tummy to fill in more food.

I found the plain crispy chicken to be very fresh and crispy. The fat was yellow and I'm not chicken expert but could that be an organic or farm raised thing? Like free range or free run chicken or fed with corn? Not sure, but I think that was worth noting. i like how I ordered 5 pcs but 6 - 7 pieces came - Let me explain - They cut up a big thigh into two pieces so you can share and have more batter on each piece. It's a nice touch and I welcome that. I felt like I got more and I can share better. Cool.

I am dying to try their soy garlic chicken next time because that's not offered in Wing Chicx (GROSS) or Coco's (You have a new challenger... Fight!)

It's a great place for a hot dog. It' Dog recently opened near the University of Alberta, it's about a 10 minute walk from the University and is located beside Remedy. The restaurant is fairly small (it can probably seat ~20 people), and has a cute Korean ambience with brightly coloured painted walls and k-pop shown on TV. The service is very friendly and personable. I had their Bulgogi hotdog ($7), which was good, tasty, and didn't fall apart on me while i was eating it. It was better than a lot of other hot dogs that I've had. The combination of a hot dog with bulgogi was very interesting to say the least, but I liked it overall and the flavours went well together. I want to try their fried chicken and other hot dog combinations, and will hopefully be back soon to try it out. Recommended.

Amazing. I love hotdogs. And it' dog makes a great hotdog. The buns are fresh and many steps above your standard grocery store hotdog buns. The weiners are delicious. But the toppings are where these hotdogs stand out. I've tried the Kim chi and the truffle macaroni hotdog and they're amazing. My only regret is that my mouth is not bigger to fit in the whole hotdog.

The Asian fusion hot dog craze has just hit Edmonton! Occupying the space which had previously belonged to Badass Jack's, the short walk from university campus to It' Dog definitely makes this fast food joint a hit among uni students. The menu is pretty sweet and straightforward. You have 11 hotdogs, 4 deep fried chicken choices to choose from and if you're feeling a bit more adventurous, you can order a bulgogi poutine or even kimchi pork poutine. With the lack of Korean fried chicken in my life during these past 5 months in Edmonton, you can imagine how I often I find myself craving for its greasy, oily, ultra-crunchy and salty goodness. We started off with two pieces of fried chicken each. Fried Chicken ($6.00): Nope you're seeing right. That's three pieces. Can you imagine the look of delight on our faces when we were all given three pieces instead of just two? How glorious and hypnotising does that chicken look? One bite into this perfect golden egg-shell like thin crust on the skin revealed an extremely tender and moist chicken, which was also really well seasoned. Sweet Mustard Chicken ($7.00) Even, with the sweet mustard sauce, the skin just crackled and crunched with every bite. It was amazing. Sweet & Spicy Fried Chicken ($7.00): This version comes drenched in a sticky sweet and chilli sauce which was perfect in that it was

It’ Dog, Edmonton’s newest Korean fusion hotdog and fried chicken eatery had a strong opening last Tuesday, and was packed full on the Wednesday evening when Joe and I went. Storefront It’ Dog, brought to you by the same owners as It’ Sushi in Spruce Grove, now occupies the space that was previously Badass Jack’s on 109 St and 86 Avenue, sharing its parking space with Remedy Cafe and the Movie Studios. The location is sure to be a hit with university students, those craving a bite to eat for lunch or dinner or even a late night snack. I know I would have gone in between study sessions if it were open years ago! A bonus: they’re open until 3am on Friday and Saturday nights, perfect for post-bar/club eats. They even have beer on tap to keep the party going!
