Had a tire change done nearby, decided to take a walk down the road for lunch and happened to notice Burger Baron along the way. I've seen Burger Baron's around the city for all my life but have yet to actually try it out. Was pleasantly surprised with the meal. It's about what you'd pay for a large burger meal at any restaurant. The place has a rustic feel to it, 80's/90's diner sort of thing. I had the mushroom burger which tasted pretty good. Plenty of mushrooms and good sauce. The burger patty could have been a bit better, maybe I've been trained to like a certain flavour of patty. Still, overall worth a try in my books.
Now, we all know that the burgers at Burger Baron are divine but this trip we decided to try the Texas fried chicken. First of all, the price was very good compared to other chicken joints. We got fifteen pieces for 22 and change. The chicken was crispy but moist and not too greasy (like some other places). The sides were very tasty. We had the new sweet potato fries and the deep fried mushrooms. Service was friendly and fast.
I stop by here about every other week for my grandma. She loves the Baron burgers and the corn fritters. My boys also love their milkshakes. My only feedback would be to take the money as soon as the customer gets to the drive thru window because I often think, oh Darn I should have ordered a milkshake, but then it's too late. Overall they are friendly.

If you like mushrooms GO THERE, seriously the best deep fried mushrooms anywhere, warning though, they will spoil you for all others.
The mushroom burger is a hot sloppy mess that will have you licking the wrapper for every last bit of the melted swiss/mushroom sauce goo.
My daughter is EXTREMELY picky about take out and she begs for the onion rings, even does extra chores for them.
Fresh hot Corn Fritters? Don't even try them with honey or jam, they are addictive and when you wake up at 3am wanting a snack you will crave them. I warned you.
Don't even think of eating their food while your driving, it's not that kind of food. Relax, kick back, enjoy and savor it, that's what Rudy intended and that''s the experience the staff works hard at providing. The staff? Incredible. They care and they're really nice, really! It's the only drive through I actually tip at (Hollywood Pizza for take-out also).
Every place is off once in awhile but in 20 years I doubt I've had more than a couple orders that weren't a 5 out of 5 and I am very picky and have high expectations.
Over all it's a humble, homey place with great people and great food, I've never been disappointed :)
Oh, I forgot, very reasonable prices too.
This is the only real Burger Baron in Edmonton, you can tell by the steep trademark roof, all the rest in town are just pretenders. In fact, I refuse to go to any other one in town, as none of them can compete with this location. Top quality food and for really fair prices too. I finished my burger 6 hours ago and I am still not hungry. Also, I am pretty sure this location is family run and you can tell by the wonderful food, prices and service they offer.
This is the best Burger Baron in Edmonton in my opinion. The food is always fast and fresh. The owner is friendly and cheerful. The burgers and fried are high quality and always tasty. I would rather spend my $10.00 on a high quality Burger Baron burger that go to McDonalds any day. Plus going here helps out a local business rather than a giant fast food joint. It is a win win, get a great burger and help out a local business.
The mushroom burger was awesome and filling, and the vanilla milkshake was good but a bit too sweet - perfect if your sweet tooth is badly craving for sugar. Staff were nice and accommodating and the eating area was generally clean when I was waiting for my food.
This burger joint has some tasty burgers and appies. The management and staff are down to earth people who care about the food they prepare. Weekdays have their own two fer special. I recommend the mushroom burger and the Salisbury burger are my favorites.
We love our Burger Baron, for 20+ years we've been customers here and enjoy the staff, the food and the location. We are sorry this location is now closed but they have a new location in Sherwood Park and are carrying on the same great traditions there.
This is the best Burger Baron I've ever been too, and I think I've been to them all. The Pizza Burger is my favourite, a single or a double with tots and a shake. Soooooooo good. You won't be disappointed.
