Review All India Restaurant And Sweets - Edmonton

We ordered 18 samosas and requested a little extra chutney and they sent more than half empty bowl. Not sure how you will eat 18 samosas with 4-5 spoon of this. When we called and inquired the girl on phone said this is our standard and they can’t do anything about it

Service was average as we waited for 14 minutes which isn't to bad considering the chicken was a odd Texture just didn't seem up to par, But worth a try!

The best Indian sweets and food in whole Edmonton area. Clean food, well cooked and above all YUMMY. You will never be disappointed. The owner personally runs this location along with his family and their QUALITY is the best. Their restaurant on the side also serves a place to dine in. I have seen them provide catering to pretty much everything from marriages, birthday parties and even religious programs. 100% recommended 👌

Ordered samosas and some sweets. Samosas were well cooked, crispy and good flavor. Lacked a bit of salt. Sweets were fresh but some were a little too soft.

My last experience with this restaurant was horrible. I usually don’t order from them but I decided to give it a try. I ordered chicken curry. One major trick they play is there containers are made like that from the bottom if you notice which don’t have much space. Their quantity is half the size of other restaurants because they use their own containers that only look good to them. If you can’t provide the enough amount then those containers are not worth. I don’t know why they named it chicken curry when they had to give it without gravy! Doesn’t make sense to me. Customers must get the satisfied amount of dish if they’re paying money for it!

Dahi palla was worst . There was nothing but black pepper all over the palla . Samose was good but dahi paalla and chaat papri were worst . Please improve your quality and quantity too.

Such a great preparation by the staff members. Kiran attended us with such a great spirit. We will recommend this place to our friends.
Craving for Indian Sweets?
Don’t think much and simply head to All India sweets on 23 avenue to satisfy your sweet-tooth. They give good amount of indian touch to their Snacks as well as sweets.
They use appropriate amount of sugar in their sweets which i liked the most.

First time i ordered Infamous combination of Jalebi and rabdi . Order was taken by the owner and usually they don’t keep rabdi for their order, but with my request they made this combination which i enjoyed the most.

Second time i ordered the same combination, but this time it was a sheer disappointment. Their rabdi wasn’t cooked properly.
Their samosas are also good to try. As per my recommendation, this is the best place in edmonton till now to try your buds on Indian sweets.

The ambience is ok ok but the food is good the chicken tikka was yum and then buffet is worth it’s while as it has starters and appetizers which are very different with a fusion and for Indians as well as Canadians

All India used to be my go-to place growing up as I lived a less than 5 minute walk from this place. However, eventually I ended up moving and as a result I rarely ever come back to this place. I remember fondly about how good their samosas used to be, and how they had pretty cheap biryani and curry. I ended up trying their biryani again this time.

I can't speak much for the quality of service when I tried their food again this time as it was for takeout, but food was fresh when delivered. Their biryani was spicy. Like WHOA. I think I have a pretty high tolerance for spicy stuff and this one definitely hit the spot. At least the yogurt that it came with helped to numb the spice and give a good balance. I'd love to come back to try their samosas but I didn't get a chance to try it.

All in all, the biryani was decently priced, and a tad bit spicy. I might stop by to try their samosas that I loved as a kid. Recommended.

I have eaten the lunch buffet here. There was a quite a good selection of main dishes. There were 2-3 desserts to choose from as well. Was a fulfilling meal

Supper at this family run Indian restaurant. Restaurant, and tables are clean with large tv's to watch the game. Staff are friendly, Harry and attentive.
Table had the buffet. Hot and cold choices are limited on the buffet. Items of salad, pasta salad, beans, veg pakora, lentil curry and butter chicken appear as if they have been sitting on the buffet for a very long time.
Nana comes hot, as it is ordered separately and is delivered to the table by the wait staff.

Owner or manager comes around to each table to check on you and how you are liking your meal. All of the staff are great in the establishment.

Flavor of dishes is what reduces over all rating as they are less than expected.

I bought Samosas & came home to eat, then found, potatoes was stale & very bad smell was coming from samosas. I immediately called store, they told me it was fresh, total lie. I will never ever go to store.

These guys are the biggest suckers I have ever seen in my life. I went there about 4 times and every time they charged me almost Double the amount I was suppose to pay. Every Cashier will charge you super Extra, i was served by the owner. To my surprise They all over charged me. A couple times, the chutney I got was stinky as a fish. Beware, of the Thieves.
Worst lunch buffet ever. That was the worst food I ever tried. No paneer dish in buffet I think I can cook better. Never ever gonna go back for lunch their.

Overcharge on delivery. I ordered delivery from them they charged 20$ as well as charges for free complimentary items. Clearly they don't know how to do business.

Lots of room for improvement. We went during the day and found that a lot of the food in buffet was already nearly empty and some things like the chicken and lamb were not fresh so we decided to wait but they never replaced them. The food is normal, the sweets shop on the other side however is a complete win!!! I drive all the way from north side to have that stuff!

Food was not freshly prepared,
Old tandoori chicken was served in the buffet, same was the case with fish and paneer pakora.
Paneer butter masala was good tastewise
Otherwise below average buffet and I am sure food not fresh and they serve leftovers.
Will not come again

BEST INDIAN RESTAURANT IN MILLWOODS. I absolutely LOVE All India! Great food, close to home, family run business. The owners are super friendly and welcoming. My favorites include palak paneer, butter chicken, veggie samosas and chili chicken!

Ordered chili chicken... Sauce was ok but seems like they were using old tandoori chicken. Tough, dry and no flavour in the meat. Come on guys you just don't do that to keep customers coming back. Review by an ex-fan

Delicious!. Upon entering the restaurant, the succulent aroma of spices takes you into a journey back to India! Pair that with a friendly host, soothing music and amazing cuisine, and you get a taste of India, all the way in Edmonton! Will definitely return!

We ordered butter chicken and chicken khorma for pickup. We have never ordered these and not received rice with it. Well there was no rice. For the price it would not have been difficult to include it. The food was good but if we have to pay for rice on top of the $15 dishes, its not worth going back.

Worst place I ever been. I went this place the other day for lunch as one of my friend who used to work there asked me never have lunch or dinner at All India because they never serve fresh food, they always sell old leftovers on next day and they don't throw it out. I went there and to tried their lunch and their trandori chicken had some weird taste. I stop there and make payment and complain about the problem on register. The person who was handling customers was not well come for complaints and got embarrassed. I left the place and decided I will never go back to this place again

Buffet & Sweets. I went for lunch buffet on Saturday. For the price of the buffet, I was very suprise how good the food was. The service not bad. Bought a 1 lb of Indian sweets, it was very good. I'm very pleased with my visit here & will definitely be back & will recomend it to people

My boyfriend and I went here for Valentines day that just past as it is right around the corner from our place and we decided to go out at the last minute. This place had decent reviews so we went here.
I was VERY very disapointed. Their was only one dish at the buffet that I remotely liked, everything looked kind of old even though it was extremely busy. The butter chicken didnt taste anything like the butter chicken I have had elsewhere (at least 4 other restuarants, several times each) and wasnt very appealing.
The service was okay. I would not go back.

Arrogant owner, poor service. Some 2-3 weeks back we went to this place as we got the deal coupons. The coupons were over the due date. the issuer of coupons on its website suggests that in case of coupons past the due date, these are still valid for actual money paid and not the deal value. Incidentally the owner was standing in buffet area. he rudely told us that he would not accept the coupon even for the face value we paid for. When we tried to show the issuer's website, he very rudely said that it could not be done. we simply left the place. Afterwards, we got the money refund from the issuer of the coupons.
Even otherwise, the place is not so great. good only for some people waiting for snacks and sweets.
Would not recommend anyone for enjoying a meal...Never.

Half and Half.. The sweets are amazing and the samosas are the best! I had the buffet for the first time last week. It was ok. I found the curries very heavy and I did not feel very good after! The salads weren't the freshest either. The Naan bread is good, but I would recommend ordering it without butter. Service was friendly and the owner was nice. I'm definitely coming back for the sweets and samosas, but don't think I'll torture my stomach again with the buffet.

Hospitality? i think not. This place was horrible! i usually go there and buy my sweets, but as of tonight i will NEVER go there again. We - my hubby and I- decided on Indian tonight so we walked over and stood there for 10 minutes before we were even greeted, then we were told they had no free seats even though there was about 6 tables FREE without reserved signs on them. To top that, the hostess was quite rude and didnt even look at us when she said that.

The last time i purchased sweets from there, they were soggy and tasted like soapy water.

I would reccomend going elsewhere if you want good Indian foood (such as Rasoi India)

I tried just about everything right down to the goat and found everything delicious

The heart of Little India. I can't explain my love of Punjabi sweets, but these intensely colourful and flavourful treats hold endless appeal. All India Restaurant and Sweets boasts one of the best selections of such treats in the city. Indeed, their cooler boasts dozens of varieties just begging to be tasted. I wish I knew their names. I've had take-out from All India as well and was not disappointed. Their naan and roti are puffy and flaky, respectively, and the palak paneer is a bite of earthy-cheesy bliss.

I love this restaurant. My wife and I come about once a month. The food is always fresh with a different selection every time. The Fisk pakora is my favorite. Naan bread is included and made fresh

Why does it have to be like this?. I liked the fare when I happened to visit about the time the restaurant inaugurated. The food was fresh, the flavour and balance perfect. I left with an intent to visit back, hoping the place would reverse a trend I've seen with many such buffet kitchens where the flavour just keeps getting tired and the selection etched in stone. Oh and there was another reason I wanted to be back: their samosas.
Guess what..after my second visit, all I wanted to do is make a resolution never to try the 'buffet' again, but, wait, I still loved their mildly spiced, fresh out of the kitchen samosas.
So I came back for the third visit, grabbed a brown bag of samosas, and found a table at the empty restaurant. The hostess was warm and friendly, and came with a glass of water. But right behind her was the lady of the house, who I generally see behind the sweets till. The lady bluntly pointed out to me that the table was for 'guests' who ordered buffet, and not the samosas. Last I knew, the hostess still had the glass in her hand, probably frozen. I wanted to tell the lady that I was looking for one good reason to at the empty restaurant, and it was not her 'buffet'. Instead, I quietly walked out.
