The Saratoga is an institution in Edmonton and continues to offer homemade meals with full portions. They have real turkey in their clubhouse sandwiches and offer a roast turkey dinner any time of the year. Their breakfasts are fast and tasty and everything is served by friendly servers in a cozy family environment.
It is decent breakfast, for sure. I can’t help but wonder if this place has a lot of popularity because of the cute, homey feel inside and the lightening fast, courteous service though🤔? Service 5/5, decor/atmosphere 5/5, food 3.5/5.
An Institution. The "Tog" has been there since it was the last outpost on the southern edge of the city so long ago. Today, I wish the food was as good as it was then. It seems like just about everything is from the freezer or a can. The staff are great but they are stuck serving an inferior product. I think the cost savings by going to prepared and frozen foods have hurt the food quality badly. On top of that, I don't think the ketchup in the Heinz is actually Heinz.
I love this place for nostalgic reasons. I have had many meals here for many occasions - happy, sad and in between. The food quality will have to improve or freshen up before I return.
Get Better and I will come back!
