The Carrot Community Arts Café is hands down the best coffee shop it town. It is volunteer powered and has a history rooted in community transformation (significant enough that a documentary was made).
A very warm and friendly atmosphere. I recommend visiting there for a nice cup of tea or coffee, etc. and take some time to listen to some music. I really enjoyed hearing Selkirk Range, great artist and a very dear friend.
I find myself going here often lately when I am in the area. Peaceful calm atmosphere with lots of fun Art & local wares to shop. I’ll be back!
The Carrot Community Arts Coffeehouse doesn't just have great food and coffee. It's also a great place for music, art, poetry and open stages.
Quiet and cozy, with friendly service. Good sandwiches and drink selection.
A great place to play. A great place to enjoy. Go down to The Carrot to get some Brew! Caffeine... Running all inside of me!
I just played the Open Mic tonight at the Carrot Cafe'. I loved it, great performers, great atmosphere, and coffee. :)
Great coffee at a real community hub with lots of fun events!
Fun, community based coffeehouse with great art, merch and entertainment. Love that it's in my hood and has such a unique vibe.
My heartfelt thanks to The Carrot for their amazing customer service (even when the shop is closed).
Cozy and warm Whenever I am on the Ave I visit The Carrot.
I was getting my SUV serviced at DownTown Auto, so I went for a walk to explore the area. I then discovered this cool funky cozy coffee house. I met "Mary-Jane", a volunteer working. We had a nice chat and she briefly told me about "The Carrot".
She was so pleasant and also wished me a 'Happy Birthday'. I also met a nice fellow customer named Maggie who had a bad night, we spoke briefly and I gave her the biggest hug.
Such a warm environment where I can see myself coming back again & again.
People were surpportive even performers from abroad! I sang 2 songs in Japanese the other day with their cheering me. It was really nice.
The Carrot Cafe do a great work in bringing community together...My friends and I have had the pleasure of performing there a number of times at the open mics, and the board games evenings are fantastic. Thank you to all the volunteers!

Randomly, I stopped here and I tasted the homemade soup. Since then, I return every time I can. Furthermore, the staff is very friendly and the ambience is fantastic! I like to see the art in the walls, the handmade pottery and the jewelry. I don't live near from this place but it worths the trip.
Great coffee, tea and art! Hosted by volunteers. It is a beautiful place to connect in the Alberta Avenue neighborhood. Best soup too. I love their contests, festivals and the staff. Katherine and Ruth are the best!
Went on a Tuesday when it wasn't very busy, but it was excellent. We were served promptly and the staff were very accommodating and knowledgeable. Place was very clean and comfortable. The coffee and the food we had was fantastic. I had never known about this place before and went there more by accident than anything. Will definitely be going back.
Great cafe for live music. Bring your instruments. Great group of people. Matcha tea latte is delicious!
I was there for a meeting. Staff was very welcoming and their coffee tasted really good. Should definitely have this place on your list!
Really enjoyed the carrot cake. Not too sweet on the icing. Great coffee.
Great little Cafe! Volunteer run for a great community. Thankful to have them next door!
