I was there for lunch. I ordered the Holt burger with house salad. Without exaggeration, one of the best burger's I've had. Juicy patty, perfectly cooked bacon, fresh lettuce and tomatoes and a special sauce. The simple house salad with oil and vinegar was really nice. Also, for a nice comfort food lunch, you have to try the chicken pot pie. It's like heaven in your mouth. Don't go there expecting a cheap lunch. It's on the pricey side but worth it.
I'll go back for sure.
Lunch at Holt Renfrew today. Staff are quick to seat customers at a clean comfortable table with a view of some trees and they pull your chair out for you. Italian coffee and San pelligrino served before a salad of mixed greens, strawberries, candied walnuts, goat cheese and grilled chicken. Flavors are great and salad is presented fabulously. Saskatoon panne cotta for dessert. Texture is perfect and saskatoons are not broken inside. Great friendly service throughout my meal.
I love coming here for lunch whenever I have a shopping day at Holt's. Bright and airy, with light and healthy options. This place can get quite busy at lunch on the weekend, especially since the space is tiiiny.
Lunch is great.... Had the mini elk burger for lunch. It is absolutely decadent. Topped with fois gras it keeps the lean patty juicy and flavorful.
It has been far to long between vists, I must come for lunch again soon.
Freaking Good Food. Under new management - the Head Chef makes some of the most delicious food I've ever tasted while minding the health and quality of her ingredients. Very original food with flavours that are well-matched. I recommend the Chicken Sandwich (simple yet delicious) and the Lamb Meatballs (savoury sauce) and I could go on.
Yummy! My mom had the daily special seafood omelet and it was loaded with scallops and shrimp! I had the shrimp and penne, it was delicious. Unfortunately I am unable to handle feta cheese so as I eased towards the last few bites it became irritable. The lady dining at the table beside us had the scallops and risotto and it looked absolutely amazing! She quickly finished it with ease. The scallops were seared golden brown and the risotto looked like it would melt in your mouth! Definitely trying that next time. Service was slow as there were only 2 waitresses, although there weren't many tables it was often difficult to find an employee in sight, but friendly. The only comlaint was the iced te., it was freshly brewed, but not exactly "iced" and was overwhelmingly sweet. We suspect our server was new so that would explain for the mishap. An excellent option for a light lunch! Definitely coming back.
Following my previous post, my friend and I decided to try out Holt Cafe for some tea and dessert after our taco lunch. Located in Holt Renfrew on the second floor, we had nice window seats overlooking Manulife Place (very interesting I know). It's a smaller restaurant with a simple and modern atmosphere.
The care and attention to detail was readily apparent in the beautiful presentation of the ribs, atop a mound of polenta and creamed spinach. The portion was generous and the ribs delicious, savory, tender & falling off the bone. While the spinach was a bit salty for my liking, the texture and flavor of the polenta complemented the ribs and toasted pine nut garnish very nicely.
For a cafe - excellent. Food is outstanding, service is stellar. Great place for lunch.

Every time I come here, I am exceedingly impressed with the food - and I never get the same thing twice. I have been waited on by Susan a few times, and she is fantastic! Always “on the ball”. I like the bright & cheerful feel with all the windows too.
Great new menu! The food is fresh and seasonal. Note this is a lounging restaurant. You should come accordingly.
Did not try lunch but the menu looked interesting. Had the chia parfait and it was beautifully presented. Service was friendly and efficient.
Great service, food was better than you would expect from a cafe in a department store, but very pricey.
A fabulous meal, but the highlight was the most professional and competent server I have ever seen in Edmonton.
