Review Swiss 2 Go - Edmonton

S N
I had this place on my list of places I wanted to go for awhile now and it did not dissapoint! It's been 2 weeks and I'm still thinking about the sandwich on the homemade pretzel bun. The owners were so friendly and helpful! We also had the soup and teacup cheesecake. Everything was amazing. Can't wait to go back next time I'm in town.

Looking at the other reviews, I feel like I might have been there on an off day. I ordered 2 pastries, the raspberry tart and a teacup cheesecake. The cashier was not overly helpful, although he did direct me to the menu when I said I needed to look around to decide what I wanted. When I asked how long the pastries would last in the fridge, he couldn't really give me an answer and said "at least for today". The raspberry tart was exceptional...very moist, good and clearly fresh. The teacup cheesecake, which was what I had gone there for, was disappointing. At $25, it was lovely to look at but the taste was so so. It was overall, quite dry.

Came in to try the famous tea cups but the sandwiches are what really blew us away! Everything is super fresh, sandwiches are always loaded with incredible ingredients and those baked from scratch pretzel buns take it all to a whole new level! If you haven't given this place a try, it's a MUST! Wondeful, friendly, local cafe that has definitely become a family favorite.

I took my baby to see a medical specialist nearby, but didn't realize how long it would take. It had gone way past lunch time and I needed to get something for my little one, so stopped in here. I had originally asked for a piece of toast or something but they didn't have anything like that so I ordered a sandwich and decided I'd try to share it with her. To my surprise, they came out with my sandwich and a little yoghurt for her (they didn't charge me at all either) it was so nice of them. I was so happy to be able to give her something and she absolutely loved it. I had quite the drive home so it was a relief to not have to do it with a screaming baby. Their little act of kindness saved this mamas sanity that day, and for that I am grateful. Aside from that, it was one of the best ever sandwiches I've ever had, it was so fresh and tasty and the pretzel bun was perfection. My daughter had a bit of chicken too and she never eats meat so it must have been good! My husband loved his brownie teacup too and I had a taste and it was heaven sent. Thank you to Swiss 2 go, I can't wait to come back.

The food here is always AMAZING!! Hands down the best meatball I’ve ever had inside that meatball soup, and don’t even get me started about how great the sandwiches are. If you have any room left the cheesecakes are delicious and come in some very creative flavors.

What a great hidden gem on the Northside of Edmonton. The owner is so sweet!! We enjoyed our lunch!

The tomato basil soup was hearty and so delicious. Ordered a half sandwich to have with it, but had to take that to go. So good! And the ambiance is very Swiss cafe! Excellent lunch. Can't wait to come back and save room for the delicious looking desserts.

The Fleisch Salat sandwich was awesome. I have had family and friends talk about how good this place is and now I have experienced it. I am really impressed with the food taste and quality. The pretzel bun is amazing. The ambiance of the restaurant is very nice. The washroom is clean. The restaurant was clean and well lit also. Besides the awesome sandwiches 🥪 there is also a fantastic bakery that not only makes awesome dessert but also the pretzel buns and pretzels 🥨.

Supper at Deiss 2 GO tonight. Restaurant is very quiet not one other table has customers at it. Up to the counter to order as there are no wait staff in this restaurant. Desserts are displayed in a cooler, coffee prices are on the wall, and sandwiches are displayed by picture on top of the cooler.
We order soup and sandwiches for dinner then choose a table. Disappointed that table is sticky and dirty.
Soup one is a hearty vegetable which is tomato based, full of large cut vegetables, with a weak stock and disappointing flavour. Soup two is potato bacon which is very thick, hold your knife up in the bowl thick and not very warm. Bacon flavour or pieces are not in the soup they are only sitting on top. Soup is so thick they don't leave a dent on the surface. Sandwiches are bagel like buns with our toppings. Meat and cheese toppings are simple and on the small size.
After finishing our meal we decide to not order one of the individual tea cup shaped cheese cakes in the cooler. Yes they are shaped like tea cups and $14 each!!!! They look kinda cool but with the dissapinting flavors from our meal we decided against.

I have been a regular of Swiss to go for years, driving across town for her beautiful sausage and potato soup and other delights. Last summer, I picked up a lunch to take out and was so disappointed! The tomato soup was tasteless. It looked and tasted like she'd just opened a can of diced tomatoes and heated it up. Ok, thought I, anyone can make a mistake. But then, last June, I had a hankering for that sausage soup and drove twenty minutes to order it, only to get a bowl of uncooked veg in a broth that was unfinished and bland. I will not be back. Fool me once, shame on me; fool me twice, lose a loyal customer. Shame, I really loved that soup.

When’s swiss to go was in the west end I used to come as much as I possibly could. This restaurant has phenomenal sandwiches on a pretzel bun, so if you love pretzels and you love sandwiches you need to come here. Also if you love potato salad and you love soup you need to come here. made fresh and from scratch the best soup and potato salad I’ve ever had in my life and I don’t even like soup and potato salad that much but this restaurant changed me. The owner is a beautiful amazing woman who always remembers her customers and greats them as if they are family even after only seeing them a handful of times. I believe they also make fresh Swiss desserts still so if you have a chance to try those they are a must.

I saw the excellent reviews about this place and got my hopes up to try. I don't think it was exactly my thing and I am going to tread carefully here because I know a lot of people like this place. I respect this sandwich shop's existence but I just don't like it enough myself.

When I got inside, I was met with a cozy, no BS sandwich / bakery place setting. The staff was friendly and down-to-earth. I was really eager to try a sandwich. What I got was a rather normal sandwich with unique bread. The bread was cool / cold and chewy. It was almost like a bagel / pretzel kind of texture. I didn't exactly like it but I can't say I've tasted anything else quite like it. I am sure they baked it themselves and that's cool. The tomatoes, cheese, and meats were just OK. They served their purpose I guess. The soup I had was really healthy-tasting and acidic / sour, but I really needed it to offset the coldness of my sandwich.

I think I'm just a hot sandwich kind of guy. If it were to be a cold sandwich, I'd want some bread that is soft and flavourful. Unfortunately, I couldn't get either of that here so I wasn't a happy camper going home. I would totally recommend everyone to come try here at least once to see if it's your thing though.

I haven’t been to Swiss 2 GO since they packed their bags up from the west side and relocated back to Beverly. I have a couple friends that absolutely adore this place and make the trek out to this part of town (even though they live on opposite ends of the city). It’s close to Million Thai and A Yah Mi Deh.

Walking into this place, you get your hopes raised. The setting is so cozy and comfortable. Their tables and chairs are so cute, I was impressed. It looked like the kind of place I could bring my friends to for lunch over a quick chat or study session. The service was prompt and friendly, and I ordered the Grasshopper and their white chocolate walnut caramel muffin. The sandwich is where it went downhill for me.
I do not expect sandwich places (especially locally owned ones) to be dirt cheap like Subway (which I seriously dislike btw), what I DO expect however is for them to kick Subway's behind into next week. This did not occur. The bread was too hard, cool and salty (why was it cool?). I love salty food. But it becomes an issue when salty is ALL I can really taste. In fact, the only taste that made it through was the mustard. So for $12 I got a small sandwich that I didn't even enjoy. The idea is fascinating. It looks great on paper. In fact everything I read on their menu looked so delicious, I couldn't decide. But the actual thing was a let down.
But the muffin. Let's talk about the muffin. It was huge. And DELICIOUS. It had nuts all over. White chocolate on top and the centre was FILLED with caramel. I couldn't believe it. It was DIVINE.
So would I go back? Nope. But if I happened to pass by, I'd grab one of those muffins perhaps. Since this place is all about sandwiches however, I won't go out of my way.

Cannot recommend this place enough. Their sandwiches are delicious and full of flavour. There is just something about that pretzel bun that gives it an extra oomph. I can never decide if I want to order my favorite or try something new and always end up with two. Their coffee is great too but I love their green tea latte the most. It is not sweetened so u can add the amount of sugar you want and it is full of the rich matcha taste. Can't comment on the dessert as I'm usually too full to order any.

OMG where has this amazing little shop been my whole life? I was so presently surprised when I stopped in for a quick lunch and was met by such friendly and welcoming staff. The food is amazing, the snacks are tempting, the ambience is perfect. As the name suggests, you can definitely get your food 2 Go, but it also has a few adorable tables to enjoy your meal at.

Love this place for sandwiches! Their pretzel bun is both lovely and appetizing to look at but also delicious! They have a great variety of pretzel sandwiches, soups, desserts, meal combos, hot drinks, and cold drinks. We had the Wild Atlantic Salmon combo, the Swiss Classic combo, white bean and beef sausage soup, sweet hawkthorne tart, and almond croissant. Everything here tastes and looks so divine!! The restaurant itself is clean, decorated with lots of character, and has a comfortable, cozy ambiance to it. Service was very friendly, helpful, and warm. This place is hands down probably the best sandwich place in the city and one of my favourite places to eat at in Edmonton :)

Phenomenal. For reasons I won't delve into here, I had to get a vegetarian sandwich, and if it is any indicator as to what to expect with their regular sandwiches then I am a fan. The flavors were playful and well balanced, the texture was the best I have ever experienced in a sandwich. Ever. I'm excited to get back there, maybe next time I'll get to try something with meat in it!

Wonderful experience! The restaurant gave off a clean, relaxed atmosphere and the sandwiches, soup and potato salad are refreshing! What a hidden gem! Will come here again and maybe stock up on some sandwiches to go!!! The desserts look delicious although I have yet to try them!

I've heard so many great things about Swiss 2 GO so I took it upon myself to find out what everyone was talking about. I definitely agree that the location is rather offbeat but don't let that fool you!

One Sunday afternoon, my friend and I dropped by for a late lunch. Although the place wasn't bustling, you could tell that the owners took the time to cultivate relationships with their customers as some spoke on a first-name basis.

Meanwhile, I chose the Sandwich Team Box (sandwich, soup, bottle of water and a piece of Swiss chocolate) with the Arosa and the soup of the day which was Tomato Basil. Their sandwiches are presented very well; in fact I almost didn't want to eat it! I love the little Swiss flags that they stick in the sandwiches. Great attention to detail. You'll have to open wide as they are very generous with the portions. I really enjoyed eating the pretzel bun because it was moderately hard on the outside yet nice and chewy on the inside. The Arosa is a must if you're looking to up your protein intake for the day since it has Alpine-style dried beef, hard boiled eggs and roasted almonds. Add in some apple slices and Emmental cheese and you've got a combination that sounds awful but tastes better than expected. I would say that they were perhaps a bit too generous with the apple slices as halfway through the sandwich, all I could taste were the apple slices.

I liked how the tomato basil soup was full of diced tomatoes. As many places are skimping out on portion sizes due to cost these days, it's nice to find those that stick to their guns. Well done, Swiss 2 GO. I believe they used to have several varieties of soups available everyday but now they just stick to one soup per day. I also liked how the owners dropped by during our eat-in order to check up on things. Awesome customer service.

On the way out, I decided that I had to try the Italian Bride as it was voted one of the top 25 things to eat in our city by Avenue Magazine back in 2013. Let me say that I was not disappointed. Whereas the apple slices were a bit overpowering while the protein ingredients lacked taste in the Arosa, the Italian Bride did a knockout punch in my mouth. Italian prosciutto, sundried tomatoes, sliced Bocconcini, roasted red pepper and fresh basil on a lightly-salted pretzel bun? It really doesn't get better than that. You need to order this if you drop in.

This is a great place for someone who is looking to step away from the typical grocery store sandwich or Subway fare. I loved the focus on health-conscious Swiss ingredients. I'm still craving the pretzel bun as I type. This location is a little bit out of reach for some people but trust me, it'll be worth it!

Swiss 2 Go is probably the quintessential definition of "diamond in the rough." The humble sandwich shop first opened in the Beverly neighbourhood before moving across the city to the west end. Flash forward to April of this year, they have teleported again, re-opening in their original stomping grounds on 118 Ave.

The have the best sandwiches ever especially the Italian Bride. The owner is very friendly and kind. She will only offer the best of ingredients and the sandwiches always out out with love. Must try for anyone who never had anything here!

Unassuming look (at least from outside): check.
Sketchy strip-mall location: check.
Family-run sandwich shop: check
Best sandwiches in town: CHECK
Kind of kicking myself for not checking out their wares before....... fresh tasty sandwiches on store-made pretzel buns, served by friendly owners in a clean comfy place........... what more to ask for?

Question: what makes a sandwich even better? When it's served on a pretzel bun! One hot summer day, my boyfriend and I were in the area of Beverly on 118 avenue planning to go to a different restaurant but it was closed. We ended up passing by Swiss 2 Go and decided to stop in. I had been to Swiss once before, when it was at its old location beside West Edmonton Mall. I didn't know where it had moved to and was glad that we stumbled upon it. You won't find your average sandwich here. These delicious sandwiches will fill you up with their fresh loaded ingredients and unique combinations! And of course.. pretzel bunsssssss!!!! Service is very friendly as well, I really enjoyed how the owner took the time to talk to her customers.

Pretty sure I've been to all the locations that Swiss 2 Go has been at, I'm hoping this will be the last move. Thankfully, the quality has never wavered in any of my visits. In fact, I'm pretty sure the pretzel bun has considerably improved since they first opened. Maybe one day I'll try something else other than the Matterhorn, Swiss Hiker, or Italian Bride; but how can you turn down prosciutto and boconcini?!!

Finally tried one of their soups, it was a cream based soup with some sort of sausage; better than expected. They probably loaded on a bit too much green onion, but it was a very healthy portion.

There aren't enough places like this in North American food culture. The prices are fair, the ingredients are top notch and personally selected by the chef obviously. The beauty in presentation shows the love in every dish and item.

There is incredible variety and everything is made from scratch throughout the day.

The decor is clean and warm, quality in the details like a real person chooses because this place is run by a real person not a chain.

Drita is a darling and when her incredible sandwiches and soups are through reinventing your love for fine European things, her desserts will make your every taste bud convincingly argue with your brain over whether you do indeed still have the metabolism of a hyperactive sixteen year old. They'll win too. Calories that delicious simply don't count.

Go here. Bring people. You'll be a hero every time.

There's love and culture in North east edmonton, and convenient parking too!
Great Sandwiches. Ordered the salmon sandwich. Completely wowed me. Fresh sprouts, cucumbers, onions complete with slices of salmon on vert fresh bread. I would venture to say one of the best I have ever had.

Always great!!!. I'll travel from the southwest end of the city to come here!!
Rebelshockey83
Always good. I'll drive all the way across from the southwest end to Beverley just to come to this place!!!

Tried swiss2go today and cannot say enough about how good it was. I had a regular sandwich team box with the chicken zone sandwich and cream of nettle soup. Admittedly I was nervous about trying the soup as it was out of my comfort zone, I was heavily rewarded for trying as it was so good. Like others have said the portions may look small but looks are deceiving, I have a healthy appetite but could not finish it all. My husband had the Fleisch Salat with the soup and loved them both. We got a pistachio tart and two vanilla bars to bring home, absolutely amazing. Definitely would recommend this place to everyone. Fresh wholesome ingredients, so good.
Sadie
The salad was the best, I cannot remember the name of it but it had apples, dried cranberries and emmental cheese and it was one of the best salads I have had.The pretzel buns were so good, I had the thanksgiving sandwich which I shared with my husband and he had the grasshopper which he shared with me. The thanksgiving sandwich was eaten first and we did not like the beef in the grasshopper sandwich. But that was our fault it did say air dried.

Now thats a tastey sandwich!. What can I say other than ill never eat Subway or Quiznos again. Everything is made either fresh or of imported high quality ingredients, and you can taste every last bit of the attention to detail.

A meal with homemade soup or homemade potato salad and a swiss chocholate is about the same price as a meal at any of the chain sandwhich stores, so you get great value as well.

Next time your looking for a quick bite to eat in the west end... go to Swiss 2 GO, youll be wishing you heard of it sooner.

- Greg S

AMAZING!!!. My wife and i started going to swiss 2 go, when it was on 118th ave when it first opened. We fell in love not only with the Great Sandwiches and soup but as well with the great service we have always recieved. Not only are the sandsiwches unique and tastey for adults they also carry a nutella and banana sandwich that our children love!
I have been telling everyone that i know about this great find that i feel everyone should experience. I have also got everyone at my work craving these unique sandwiches as well. All in all this is a must go to experience their unique sandwiches!!!
Carly
Really enjoyed the Nettle Soup, it's a creamy thick and savoury dish. Will go for the soup only next time! As for the sandwiches the pretzel buns really make the meal, because had the Italian Bride been on sliced bread it would have been mediocre at best. Friendly staff.
JerryT
Too Salty. Tried the Italian Bride sandwich today after seeing it on Avenue's 25 best things to eat in Edmonton list and the restaurants's high ratings on urbanspoon. I found both the sandwich and the the tomato basil soup that I ordered to be inedible. I don't know if the food is always this salty but I will not be going back to find out.

Good quality and very unique sandwiches.. This place serves the most unique sandwiches I've ever eaten. The main selling point is they serve sandwiches on pretzel bread, YUM!! They have a great variety of sandwich types. I tried the Thanksgiving today, which had turkey, brie and cranberry sauce and it tasted great together, although maybe a bit too much of those ingredients were stuffed in such a small bun they were actually spilling out as I was trying to eat it. The owner (I'm assuming) is the main server and chef and she is always very polite and friendly.

Best sandwich place in Edmonton. I've followed this restaurant from 118th ave to West gate Place by West Edmonton Mall and if it moved again I'd follow it again, that is how good this place is. The pretzel buns and ingredients are always fresh and tasty. The menu has something for the reserved diner and the adventurous ones. I highly recommend this place! If only the owner would get that darn smoothie machine working I'd rave about them to. ;)
Warren
Yum!. You rock. Best sandwiches in Edmonton. by far. Food made by owner herself. Unreal.
Julia
Made with love. The sandwiches here are delicious and filling! The bread is so fresh and tasty. I love how they add apple to their potato salad. I will definitely make this my go to sandwich place

Nearly impossible to dislike. Swiss 2 GO has great deli-style sandwiches, great homemade soup, reasonable prices, and pretty much the best pretzel buns ever. Skip the craziness of West Ed and eat lunch here instead. You won't be disappointed.

Mmmmmmmmmm enough said just go try it !!!!

Perfect soup and sandwich stop. Unique and delicious'

Fantastic lunch spot. Family owned and operated. Definitely deserve the support. Great coffee and espresso

No vegetarian options. I ordered a chicken sandwich and took out ginormous slices of plain boiled chicken out of my sandwich. There was green apple and mustard left. Not impressed at all. I dont understand all the positive reviews. Not coming back, would never recomment this place.
Dee
Amazing. You can not say you have truely eaten a sandwich till you've eaten here.
Victor Strong
Drita the owner is a sweetheart. Even if I haven't been in for a while she always remembers what we last talked about and who I am. The sandwiches are always delicious and fresh. I have never ever been disappointed!

5/5 for Swiss 2 Go. This place is a bit strange, not located close to where I live (it's out in Summerlea, directly across the street from West Edmonton Mall)... But they are doing one heck of a job making some seriously delicious food. And not only that, it's completely different than anything else that I've ever tried in Edmonton so far.
I'm not sure that I would have ever noticed this restaurant if it wasn't for Avenue Magazine's 25 Best Things to Eat article for this year, where they named Swiss 2 Go's Italian Bride Sandwich as one of the "best things," calling it "one unique sandwich." I was sold and I had to try it for myself!

Like I eluded to earlier, the location is not anything special. It's in a strip mall near a gas station, directly across the street from one of the world's largest monstrosities. But forget about location! You enter into the restaurant and quickly realize that this isn't a flashy operation. They have two tables, a bit of counter seating, and a counter up at the back to place your order at. The room isn't without it's kitsch. I liked the bright red walls and the Switzerland whathaveyou that adorns the space. It's cute and it serves it's purpose. We approached the counter, and while they have a blackboard that lists the names of the sandwiches, it was easier to pick up a paper menu and explore the details of exactly what everything is. They also have a glass case next to the till that seems to be filled with various tasty treats.

The main choices are soups, sandwiches and salads. I noticed right away that they offer some pretty great-sounding combos; the Regular Sandwich Team Box and the Large Sandwich Executive Box. Both are the same except for the size of the sandwich and the price. All of the sandwiches come in two sizes. I opted for the Regular Sandwich Team Box ($12.99) which comes with choice of sandwich, homemade soup or potato salad, a bottle or can of pop/water/juice, and a bite size Swiss chocolate. Sounded like a pretty great deal to me. Once our order was placed we took a seat at one of the tables. When the food was ready it was brought out to our table.

I noticed on the menu that they were serving Ovaltine, which was exciting! Growing up, we always had Ovaltine at our house instead of any other kind of hot chocolate. I felt so nostalgic about it! Ovaltine was developed in Berne, Switzerland, which made good sense for them to be carrying it. I asked to have this to drink instead of the pop/water/juice that came with my meal, and I believe they charged a bit extra for the change. They asked if I wanted it to be hot or cold, and since it was a hot day, I chose for it to be cold. It was amazing! This tasted just the way that I remembered it, and it tasted like my childhood. I usually would have it hot, but it was just as excellent cold. The taste of Ovaltine is so distinct and different. YUM!

I had decided to go with the soup, and I learned that they feature a different soup every day of the week. On a Wednesday they have Tomato Basil Soup. The soups are made fresh daily, and I was immediately enamored by this soup! It was SO chunky and SO tomatoey! I will admit that for some people this might be too much tomato, but not for me. There is no such thing as too much tomato or too much sauce in my world. So I loved this ultimately tomatoed soup, full of huge chunks. The delicate basil flavour came through as well and I couldn't have been happier with this savoury bowl.

Last but not least, the sandwich. While ALL of the sandwiches sounded incredible, my decision had been made for me before I even arrived. The Italian Bride (Italian prosciutto, roasted red pepper, sun dried tomatoes, sliced Bocconcini, fresh basil drizzled with extra virgin olive oil & balsamic vinaigrette on pretzel baguette). Let's be honest, all I needed to hear was "fresh-baked, house-made pretzel bun studded with kosher salt" and I was all in. But this sandwich is oh so much more than just an incredible bun. It was stuffed to the max with premium fillings, and every single part of this sandwich combined to created what can only be described as "perfect." The prosciutto was thinly sliced but thickly piled. The pepper and tomato added an acidic punch. The Bocconcini was tender and mild. This sandwich is essentially a Caprese salad on a bun, and if you know me, you know that Caprese is my most favourite of the salads. This sandwich certainly is one of the best things to eat in Edmonton.

As promised, my meal came with a little Swiss chocolate, which I popped into my mouth to cap off the meal. A meal that was incredible. The value at this place is something amazing and the food is worth the drive from whatever part of the city that you're in.

First visit, but definitely not the last!!. My daughter picked up lunch for us today. I had the Swiss barley soup and a pretzel bun, and she went with the Italian Bride sandwich and potato salad. Everything was absolutely delicious!!!!! I have never had, or seen for that matter, a cream based soup with barley, but wow...it tasted so good!! The pretzel bun was warm (from making the journey back to the office) and was chewy, and fluffy and sprinkled with the perfect amount of kosher salt. We also got 2 delectable looking pieces of cake, but we've yet to eat them. I'm quite sure they won't disappoint!

Fresh Tasty Sandwiches. We were looking for a late evening snack and wandered into Swiss 2 Go. It's right across the street from West Edmonton Mall (from the Cactus Club)...so a nice location. We ordered the 'Chicken Zone' which came with nice grilled chicken (not sliced deli meat) and apple slices on a pretzel baguette. The bun was so very tasty and moist and complemented the fillings very well. The guy disappeared in the back and we didn't see him for the rest of the time we were there and when we left he was still in the back,...but we wanted to thank him for making us a great sandwich. We'll be back again! :) Here's their menu with all their different offerings: http://swiss2go.ca/menu/

Our sandwiches were delicious! I had the Swiss Classic. The sliced red pepper and red onions gave crisp freshness to the delightful saltiness of the salami, prosciutto and soft pretzel bun. He had the Thanksgiving with creamy Brie. We look forward to coming again!

This place is awesome! Great fare from Switzerland and served with a smile! Very rare to find such a quaint and delicious gem like this one! Check it out for sure..

We miss you come back. This was the bright spot for great sandwiches & soups in Beacon Heights, but they have moved to the west now so we have to make the trek to wem but it is worth it. just cant get there often enough. Great staff, amazing soups (cream of nettle?) great sandwiches those pretzel buns are what make it so interesting

I wish I lived in Edmonton. I would be over at Swiss 2 Go at least twice a week in the AM for a cappuccino and a piece of their pastry called a "Neapolitan" - the best pastry I can remember eating.

Sandwiches made with quality Swiss meats and cheeses. Vegan choices . Balanced, flavourful. Very clean fare. We love the place.

Not your average sandwich joint.. The room is big and bright, unlike the two previous locations. Service is fast and friendly.

I love the Matterhorn. I understand the Air dried Beef may not be for everyone but give it a try, while it not beefy like roast beef, it's super rich and meaty.

If its your first time, you may find the sandwiches LOOK on the small side. Even the large is tiny compared to the foot long monsters, but once you eat it. the hearty bread and very rich fillings get you full fast.

The desserts both look and taste amazing too.

The only thing is i'm not a fan of nordic style potato salad, I guess im just to skewed by the american picnic style.

This is not your average sandwich joint. its much better!

-----16 Apr, 2013-----

Matterhorn is Epic. Service is friendly. Sandwiches are made to order so its a bit slow but it worth the wait.

Room is tiny, only about ~10 seats.

Portions: Sandwiches are par for the price. Sides and desserts are big.

Matterhorn is epic, that is all.

I can't wait till they move to the new west side location on May 5, 2013

Fresh and delicious!. I keep going back and bringing my friends, too! Try a sandwich or salad and save room for dessert. Note: she has added new items to the menu and the new salad is incredible (I forget the name).
Check out my review at eatsedmonton.wordpress.com

Deserts. I just finished the "No Bake Stawberry cheezecake" Wow....Just Wow. I can't remember the last time I had a better desert

Great!. Great food is all I need to say. To get specific, the sandwiches truly have flavour with my favourite being the Italian Bride. It has to be the roasted pepper! What really impresses me are the creamy soups. I have tried the potato salad but I love the soups! They are all so well balanced with the overall taste of the sandwiches. The mini Toblerone is a nice touch. Well done!

The Matterhorn is unquestionably the most delicious sandwich I have ever tasted. Side of Tuscan soup w sausage and holy efffff, insanity. The pretzel baguette would be the standout component anywhere else but everything is super delish. My family owns a restaurant along 118 and that is my default destination but I will certainly be eating at Swiss 2 Go. Mmmmmm

Sandwich to die for. They have got the most creative tastful sandwhich's I have ever had.... The mushroom soup is fantastic and came in a small tester with my sandwhich. The bread is always fresh and I reccomend this place to all my friends.

Well made, well done, well priced. Desserts are heaven.

Swiss 2 Go - Awesome!!. Ordered the Chicken Zone and had a cheesecake dessert. Both a five star in my books. Will definately go back again for lunch.

Stopped in today for first time ever and the sandwich was delicious , even wrote thank you on the box how nice. She gave me a free dessert for being a first timer and omg that blackberry cheesecake was the best thing I've ever had

Best sandwiches and pastries. I am not normally big on sandwiches but I will drive 20 minutes (one way) on my lunch break to go here for a sandwich. Their desserts are fantastic too. You can tell by the taste that everything is made from scratch. Staff are friendly and helpful. The owner is very nice as well, one time I came in and she said to me that she recognized me as having been there before and asked if I had yet to have a free dessert (as all first time customers get a free dessert), I said no and I got a free dessert (which I wasn't about to pass up because their desserts are so good!!).

Sandwiches 2 go. I live in the Beverly area and was excited to find something new. This little cafe touts itself as a bakery/sandwich shop, so a Swiss bakery sounded intriguing. I stopped in on a bitterly cold day for some take out. Ordered two sandwiches with soup, potato salad and a pastry to go. The soups were both very good, Swiss chard and bean and cream of broccoli, the star of my order was the sandwich, fresh ingredients and the pretzel bun just "makes" the sandwiches something special. I would hope that Drita considers selling these buns in bakery fashion available in 1/2 to full dozen for purchase. I would buy them regularly. The downfall was the disappointing pastry, first of all the pastry case had all of 6-8 individual pastries in it, I chose a custard and blackberry filled pastry that was disappointing, the custard and berries were great, the pastry was like pie crust that was thick and not tender or flaky. I would pass on this again. The Sandwich meal is what they call "The Sandwich Team Box" priced at $10.99 includes sandwich soup or potato salad, a pop and some chocolate........my order did not have the chocolate, much to my husbands disappointment. The place itself is clean, cozy, cheerful and the staff are super friendly. Parking is excellent. The price is a bit steep for the neighborhood but the food is really fresh and very good so for me it was worth it. I hope that the bakery part takes off as we could use something beyond doughnuts in this area. I will go back, and to the owners PLEASE make the pretzel buns available for purchase.

Very good food. Friendly staff. Would highly recommend to all my friends and family. Homemade soup is outstanding and they are willing to give a sample if you are unsure on which great soup to have.

Yay~. First off- the owner is a sweetheart. she is so nice! my boyfriend and i came in a few weeks ago to try the place out. while the neighborhood its in leaves something to be desired, this place is worth the trip. the sandwiches can be described as hearty, as they are made with pretzel buns. i am a huge fan of pretzels in general, so i really enjoyed it. the only thing i felt might have been missing was maybe a dipping mustard in case i wanted to pick off some of the dense bun to dip in. c: we also shared the potato salad which, being stuffed, i ended up packing home. after eating there, the owner tempted us with some cakes sitting in her display cake. we are easily seduced so we agreed. the cakes were not what i expected, i had originally thought they were warm but actually you eat them cold. there's a custard in it. it's delicious.

Easy to miss if you are not looking for it but well worth finding. Fresh, fresh, fresh! Homemade high end sandwiches, soup and pastries all from scratch. You will be impressed and want to write a review like this too!

Jan 2018:
Returned for a visit after moving across town, and this place is as delightful as before. Tasty pastries, great coffee and amazing sandwiches :-)

—

Back in Beverly and better than ever! This place is a gem, nice to see amazing food in our neighbourhood again!

-----12 Oct, 2012-----

Delightful family feel, a very warm welcome. A great spot to stop for good food quick - amazing pastries too!

The idea is not bad; they use quality ingredients they bake their own bread and they are friendly. They could however work on the speed of service (they don't seem very experienced), I may have to add that there seem to be only one of them, but there was also only two of us.

The flavor is good but could be better. I have eaten in Germany, Switzerland and Austria and I know there is something missing in the flavor.... Maybe a bit of butter spread inside to enhance the taste, and maybe give the customer the option to have the bun heated for a few seconds. That, in my mind would give it a bit more edge. Overall not bad, but it can be so much more. I will be back in a few months and see if it has improved.

Also... If the owners are reading this, please don't take this as an attack. You have something good going. I'm writing this in hopes that this might help you in your journey of making your business a raving success. Best of luck!

Great food for little money. I live in the area and there aren't too many great restaurants that I would go to regularly. I decided to try Swiss2Go and I was blown away by the delicious home made sandwiches and soup. What''s even better is that the prices are very reasonable! Will drop by often now :)

100% Deliciousness!!. As soon as we walked in, we knew we were in for something special, judging by the aroma of delicious smells wafting from the kitchen. What a fantastic meal it was!! I had the Tuscan soup and WOW!! I get compliments on my homemade soup, but this soup was so amazing!! So rich with flavour and so thick, chunky and hearty! And it came with a most delicious, right-out-of-the-oven, warm, fresh pretzel bun! My husband had the Farmers soup and he sooo enjoyed it. And then the sandwich... Swiss2Go brings a whole new meaning to the word 'sandwich"! BEST sandwich, hands down! With sun dried tomatoes! Fresh basil! Roasted red pepper, Italian prosciutto, and other delicious things. On a pretzel baguette that was out of this world. And not only is the food delicious, the staff are also very friendly, and ready to serve and please. Thank you, Ladies!! We will definitely be going back to this very charming Swiss 2 Go!!

Amazing!. There is a reason this place has 100% Likes (as of this writing). The sandwiches here are amazing. Their on freshly baked pretzel bread which is very unique and so much better than the crap at Subway. They have a good selection of different sandwiches - all with high quality ingredients and alot of them. Also they have some incredible baked goodies. This place is a must to check out.

Great Little Shop. Beverly isn't known for great culinary cuisine, but Uncle Ed's Ukrainian and Pappa's Pizza make decent, good quality food and have loyal followings. Now, there's a third place, just across the street, worth visiting; Swiss2go.

Swiss2go isn't fancy, but the food is fresh, well made, and has unique touches which show the owner's love. I got the regular swiss sandwhich, and it was most enjoyable. I like the regular size; it's not a huge sandwhich but with waistlines growing, it was just the right size to enjoy. The owner is a real sweetie and is eager for any feedback you can provide.

The location, decor, menu and prices won't wow you, but sometimes good value and local personality is better than being the next "IT" restaurant. We don't need another Earl's, Boston Pizza, or Timmy's in Edmonton; I will definitely be going back to Swiss2go again.

U Gotta Go to Swiss2go!!. Freshly opened eatery on Alberta Avenue, offering fresh pretzel baguettes, pastries and menu ideas--------THAT is Swiss 2 Go---Fresh ! Choosing a convenient location in Beverly, mere blocks from historic Ada Boulevard, proprietress Drita is the real deal from Switzerland, and if she has a few minutes is always happy to tell you about her homeland in Europe. I have been back four times, and have still not tried all her mouth-watering sandwiches, but can tell you that each one is a culinary work of art for your taste buds. My favorite small sandwich so far (slider-size bun) is the Italian Bride, carefully crafted with Italian prosciutto, roasted red pepper, sun-dried tomatoes, sliced Bocconcini, fresh basil drizzled with extra virgin olive oil and balsmic vinaigrette on a pretzel baguette. Mmm! Pastries are baked fresh every morning, so get there early in the day or there will be none left by closing time. Catering and take-out are other options at this tiny Edmonton gem, and I highly recommend a visit. Pick up a menu, and next time you can call ahead and have your order ready when you arrive---- perfect for a weekend picnic or week-day backyard family surprise. Welcome to Edmonton, Drita!

Superb Sandwiches. Liz and I went to this lovely little establishment today and found a true gem. Homemade sandwiches that were simply the best I have had in a very long time. The owner is super attentive and you can tell she really takes pride in her work. When people finally figure it out we will be waiting outside in a line...:)

Delicious! I visited this restaurant after seeing a dude in a cow suit dancing around outside - very cute. I got the Matterhorn and the potato salad, which were both so tasty. The bread for the sandwiches is dense and moist, like the most delicious soft pretzel you have ever eaten. The potato salad is perfect - not too much dressing, and the apples give the right amount of crunch. The large sandwich is very filling, enough for lunch and then a snack later. Drita was super friendly and helpful. I can't wait to visit here again. Do your tastebuds a favor and check out this hidden gem on the ave.

My husband and I stopped in today everything is amazing!! The smoothies are great, mushroom soup and potato salad spectacular and the sandwiches are to die for! Just what the northside needed a great place for lunch :)

Yum!. "Do you make the pastries here?" says I. "Yes, from scratch." says the friendly owner of Swiss2go. Fine pastry is was! I had coffee and a piece of neopolitan slice (sorry, I can't remember the Swiss name), a lovely iced pastry filled with creamy pudding, real whipped cream and a splash of rum. I thoroughly enjoyed it with a mug of good coffee. If that wasn't enough, I was given a small sample of mushroom soup and one of potato salad. Both were excellent, but the mushroom soup has me salivating just thinking about it. I will be going back to try a sandwich (and more pastry) very soon.

I ordered the Matterhorn, which comes with jalapeno peppers, cilantro, avocado and dried beef on pretzel baguette. Although the sandwich was very delectable, I think I would have preferred other menu items, as I found jalapenos to be too overpowering. The side order of cream of potato bacon soup was very good, as I had to stop myself from licking the entire bowl.

Walking up to the deli, it has a quaint entrance with seating outdoors for those who like to watch passerbys while they eat. Cute signage and flags welcome hungry patrons as they walk along the sidewalk.

With so many different sandwich combinations I'm sure there is something that will satisfy your tastes. Swiss 2 Go is located in a small strip mall across from West Edmonton Mall and is a great alternative to eating in the food court or a restaurant in the mall. If you drive by too quickly it's easy to miss, but trust me, you don't want to drive past this place.

Its delicious. Its awesome quality ingredients. Its the crazy addictive Cremeschnitte. And its the passion that shines in the food.
