Had my first ever calzone here and it was amazing! I had the Aloha calzone and it was very flavourful and delicious. Overall, great people and great food. I would recommend this place to anyone!
This was a treat and much different from our typical Saturday lunch. It starts with a friendly greating from Battista who I assume is the owner. He explained what they offered which is around ten different Calzones. I picked the Giovanna. It was unique but good. The dough was wonderful, as you would expect from owner made food. They arrived piping hot 🔥. I thought at first that I might leave hungry but it was quite filling. These Calzones are unique in Edmonton. It's just too bad that they are not located downtown or on Whyte. Be sure to come hungry because then you can share a dessert Calzone with chocolate and strawberries for the filling.@ Delicious again. This is a a 4.5 out of 5 star Café. If they sold coffee I might have given them a rare 5. I recommend Battista's to everyone as this is a destination cafe.
Lunch at Battista’s Calzone company today. Walked in right at opening to find the owner prepping for the day. Battista is a friendly man who is quick to take your order. Come for the calzones a that is all that is on the menu. Aw well different to choose from. We ordered prosciutto and artichoke with truffle oil and a spicy Italian sausage. Calzones come hot and are served at family style tables. Flavors are really good and calzone bread is made in house.

Battista’s Calzone is a small spot that surprised us. Serving up only calzones. That’s it. The calzones are bomb too. Had the Wiseguy which had pepperoni and sauteed mushrooms. Also had, the Spicy Italian which had locally made sausage and peppers. The vegetables on these calzones were fresh and cooked perfectly. Not to mention the dough was pretty much perfect and not greasy. Almost felt healthy eating these calzones. Calzones came with a cool side of tomato sauce for dipping that large pizza pop into it. The Choco Hazelnut dessert was nutella and strawberries dusted with chocolate powder in the same calzone dough. Very tasty.

Located on 118 ave and 84st, this place is a hidden gem. I’m glad more places that serve one thing and one thing only are in Edmonton because usually that one thing they make is really really good. Service was super friendly but it takes a bit for your calzone to be made. Don’t worry though, it’s worth every second.

Awesome calzones can't go wrong with any of them. Made from scratch right in front of you. The owner and staff are very polite and friendly. Would recommend giving it a try!
Came here today for lunch got here around 1130 & glad I did by 12 it was a full house & they make all there calzones from scratch so it takes some time to get them but well worth the wait. I got the Pesto Presto calzone & for only $10 I should have bought some to take home it was awesome chicken was juicy not dried out at all & the pesto sauce on it was delicious.
I came here during the week for dinner around 4:30 pm and was recommended the Spicy Italian Calzone. I was the only customer in the restaurant and they provided excellent service and the calzone was hot and tasty. I came here because I saw them on the Food Network show, You Gotta Eat Here - and I think you should as well!

Battista's is the real deal. You want excellent, hot, filled and tasty Calzones. He's got it. You want friendly,(family like) service. You'll get it. You want simple and uncluttered options. Battista's has it. Battista is like the long lost cousin from Italy...Of course I'll go back.!
This guy only does one thing but he does it well, he is very proud of his recipe and he should be. The calzones are amazing. It isn't a particular flavour but that perfect balance of all the ingredients in that beautiful crust that makes these so good. And for $10 it's a great price too!!

Came back and tried two of their other calzones: the aloha (ham and pineapple) and the Classico (Italian cold cuts and peppers). Both of these were delicious as well and imo were actually better than the first two I'd already tried (chicken pesto and meatball) during my first visit. Was once again surprised near the end of our meal with a complimentary half serving of nutella and banana dessert calzone. The owner and staff are great - friendly and really seem to care about the customer.

I'll start off by saying I've never been a fan of calzones. In my experience they've always been too doughy or nearly empty. I saw this place on Y.G.E.H and a coworker and I decided to check it out for lunch during the week. We ordered for pick up and headed over but ended up eating there as it wasn't too busy. As the calzones are made fresh to order, calling in our order ahead worked out well as we walked in and were able to dig in right away after paying meanwhile the folks who just walked in had to wait for about 5-10min (not a huge deal). We tried the NY Momma and the Pesto Presto and also the strawberry and Nutella dessert. The NY Momma was in essence the meatball sub calzone, and it was delicious! The meat balls were perfectly seasoned, the sauce was simple and the cheeses was plentiful. The Pesto Presto was chicken pesto and cheese - this was good as well but the meatball was my clear favorite. Both calzones addressed each of my past gripes with the calzone - they were perfect thickness of dough and the entire pocket of dough was full of stuffings. For added flavor they provide chili oil condiments on the tables and I added a generous douse to each bite - great if you like subtle complimentary heat. The Nutella and strawberry dessert "calzone" was a nice sweet treat, not overly heavy and sweet. Overall great vibe, great food and great quality. Will be back.
