Review Select Restaurant - Edmonton

Came to the restaurant and it was pretty dead, but decided to try it anyway. Ordered a few different items. The bruschetta was average, the basil was so old in it that it wasn’t even bright green anymore. Gnocchi had a nice flavour but was crowded with peppers that didn’t add to the flavour profile. Got the chicken Parmesan and the pasta was good but the chicken was bland. Got a nice Indian dish, flavour was good but the rice that came with it tasted like minute rice. This place was overall average. If you’re looking for a simple bite this is the place you want. Service was average, they waiters were texting at the bar when not busy.

My boyfriend and I went there for our second year anniversary. We rarely go for Indian food so this was a new experience. We ordered the Aloo Tikki (without mint sauce) and vegetable samosas to start. These were a couple of the best samosas I've tasted in the city. For mains we shared the Pan Seared Fish and Laal Maans with Garlic Naan. The pan seared fish was okay (also it only came with one coconut prawn) but we really enjoyed the flavour of the lamb. There was enough to take home leftovers. The waiter was awesome and friendly. Thanks for a great experience!

We went there with a groupon for a 4 course steak dinner. It started with a French onion soup, followed with Bruschetta and select chicken tikka to share and then the entre 12 oz. NY strip loins and finished with Crème brûlée. The French onion soup was really delicious, not too salty, just enough onions, delicious cheese, and of course, the baguette. Next came the chicken tikka and Bruschetta. The word tikka means "bits" or "pieces". And we got 3 of those. The chicken was really tender they literally melt in your mouth. I'm not the biggest fan of the Indian cuisine but this was exceptionally good. Then the Bruschetta, this classic Italian appetizer is a perfect way to capture the flavors of garden ripened tomatoes, fresh basil, garlic, and olive oil and some feta cheese... Perfection! Now to the Entré. The 12oz NY strip loins. We asked for a medium steak and we were not disappointed. The cook was right on point. The only thing we did not enjoy too much was the quality of the meat. There was quite a bit of fat at the sides of the steak making it really chewy pretty much unbeatable. So we had to cut it off, which turned it more into an 8oz steak. The steak was not seasoned much but the potatoes were really salty, so it was a good combination. The saving grace of the meal was the creme Brule. The top was nice and crisp with a perfect burn. The creme was cold and smooth and nicely flavored. The service was great and we did not have to wait long for the servers attention. It wasn't busy at all, that might have contributed to the fast service times. Overall, it was a great experience, not perfect, but really good.

Service was quite good, food was excellent! Definitely fresh & made to order. I had the 8oz Sirloin Steak with seasonal veggies and added garlic mushrooms. This restaurant does serve Halal meats which is a huge plus, but also serve alcohol on the premises as well. Just something to be mindful of! Only wish there was more lighting inside as it can be a little hard to read the menu. Overall, great experience.

We really enjoyed the food there specially the chili chicken and Naan were very good. There was a special naan item too (forgot the name) which was really delicious. Liked the environment of the restaurant as well. The only disadvantage is since they are located in Downtown its very hard to find a parking, although its not their fault i guess.

Went here for a meal with friends. Great food, decent music, good service. A complete package for a great fine dining experience with family and friends, one of the best ones I found on Jasper avenue and in Edmonton.

There is a clean facility and the food was great. The staff were also very kind. The food was brought to the table at a reasonable time but the portions were very small. That is the one of the few negative things about this restaurant that took the review down from a 4 to a 3 star. I added a picture of how small the bowl of Ratia was.

Excellent Meal...both the girlfriend and I had an amazing meal and desert at this amazing restaurant. In my opinion this place is underrated , a true gem!

I wandered in here Saturday noonish after reading about a curry inspired perogy. New owners the day before, and the perogies are no longer offered. I decided to stay. I was talked into their shrimp appetizer. Tatsted great- great texture on the shrimp and a delicious mix of spice- and the presentation was very unique. Decided on the beef vindaloo and was also talked into the dry curried lamb. My goodness! The flavours jumped right off the plates. The beef vindaloo had a nice mix of spice that didn't leave your mouth burning. The curried lamb was less saucy, but very good. It complimented the beef very well as the waiter had suggested. Great tasting food, excellent presentation, and friendly/helpful staff. I will be back next time I am in town.

One of the best restaurant in Edmonton, very good tasty food.....Nice decor & service was excellent .....friendly staff. All very good. We will definitely be back. �

Omg my husband and I went to Select on July 5 for our 3year anniversary and wow the Indian food was amazing! They were out if samosa so the waiter recommended another item that was similar and wowo it was so delicious, same with the cheese sticks and my main meal... we will definitely come into the city again to eat here. Highly recommend them if you want authentic Indian food (and I love that they added more heat for me as I love really spicy) and the Italian my husband has was delish too!

Took my husband here for his birthday. Hands down the best food I've eaten in Edmonton! Amazing Indian dishes, very friendly staff. Fair prices.

We had a wonderful experience - right from our first step in the door! Not sure how to spell his name, but "Niton" was an amazing, personable, helpful & honest host for the evening. The steak dinner we had was more than enough and each course was truly delicious. Definitely going back soon with friends to sample the Indian food - what a great menu!! (Niton - it's "shorts & sandals" guy �)

Went their last month... best Indian food in the city in my opinion. Went again last night and wanted to try something different so Nitin recommend stuffed chicken which was great. Can't wait to go back.

Thank you for accommodating our group despite being busy with "Downtown Dining week". Our evening couldn't have been more perfect, if it wasn't at Select Restaurant. The highlights of the evening were- the Crisply Stuffed Cheese sticks, Achari Paneer Tikka, Dal Makhani, Matar Mushroom, Fish Koliwada and the fresh Creme Brulee in addition to letting us enact our play amidst your other guests.

Holy smokes! Ate here at this authentic Indian restaurant on Sunday and the food, service and drinks were amazing. Cannot wait to come back Thank you Nitin Kumar for the best service and your restaurant is the best in Edmonton.

The food was FULL of flavor and spices without going overboard. Great cost atmosphere and attentive staff. I would suggest it to any of my friends!

I tried lots of Indian food n restaurant in Edmonton area ! But not satisfied till yesterday! Yesterday I tried this restaurant wid my family for dinner ! We really love it ! After long time I had good Indian food I guess ! Thanx for every staff member !

We had an Excellent meal Tonight for Downtown Dinning Week, The Meal was 5 star and the Service was 5 star !
