went for dinner there, the staff were very attentive and courteous. we were seated quickly, the place was packed. a sign of great food. we had the admirals platter, everything was cooked to perfection (and i am a picky eater) the fish was melt in your mouth it was easy to see that this fish was never frozen, like that dry crappy fish we get here in calgary for more than 2x the price here, for dry tasteless fish. The scallops were huge and melted in you mouth this is by far the best seafood i have ever eaten. in our 2 week stay here we ate here 3 times I cant say it enough eating here was a pleasure and very reasonable prices. I will definitely come back for this incredible fresh fish

I had been told about the large piece of fish you get here and so I had to see it for myself. I was in the area today, Aug 14/17 and decided why not try it today. The staff on duty were excellent and attentive with not going overboard. The fish, I could not believe my eyes, was huge. It just about covered the plate or should I say platter it was served on. It was lightly coated and cooked to perfection. I would not hesitate to eat here again.

We came to Salty’s for lunch a couple of weeks ago. It was a beautiful day, bright and quite so, we sat outside and, it was a treat! We had several seafood dishes as well as a few beers. Overall, the food was pretty good and portions appropriate. I can agree with other reviewers that perhaps prices seem a little high but, I think it was worth the prime. Service was very friendly and diligent too!

Stopped by for an early dinner in the lower level during our travels. Service was welcoming and quick. We ordered the brie to share, which while tasty was on the smaller side for $17. We also did lobster rolls and those were absolutely fantastic. We opted for the side salad which was fresh and tasty too. Would definitely come back again. The views are fantastic as well, both inside and on the patio.

Came to travel from Toronto and I was craving fresh lobster!! The taste was so delicious and fresh. Perfect cooked and the coleslaw was so yummy. I tried 1.5lb and lobster with potato salad and coleslaw. Customer service was friendly and helpful.

Delicious! This restaurant has 2 seating areas, the main floor is the bar and grill while the upper floor is "upstairs" and had a more sophisticated ambiance. We sat at a booth on the main floor and enjoyed the rustic decor. I ordered the seafood platter while my husband ordered a lobster linguine (from the upstairs menu, our server asked and got permission for us). Both dishes were great. The lobster linguine had a good amount of lobster meat, at least 2 claws, some tail, and more smaller pieces. The seafood platter was great. The shrimp tempura was covered in crispy noodles instead of panko. The scallops were crispy on the putside and practically melted when you ate the inside. The haddock was good but needed a touch more seasoning. The lobster was very fresh and plump. The meat was right up to the shell (instead of loose and smaller than the shell like what I get back in Toronto). I upgraded my side to a salad instead of fries but forgot to take a picture. We also ordered a dessert, the cadix, a chocolate mousse one a hazelnut chocolate crust. It was amazing. You could feel and taste the hazelnut well incorporated into the crust. The chocolate mousse was smooth and creamy. The dollops of raspberry jam(?) were a great touch and contrast to the sweetness. I would definitely come here again.

Absolutely dilishes food and great location. The seafood platter is delicious and reasonably priced if you want to have some lobster but also other items. Definitely recommend. They also have a good kids menu.

Lovely ambience by the sea and great menu for my birthday and 30th career anniversary. We tried the lobster, mussels, shrimps, etc. The price was decent compared to many restaurants in downtown Halifax service. Service was fantastic as the waitress will always have a five star rating from me. I have been to a few restaurants in Halifax with gloomy service, but Salty's Courtney was exceptional and very friendly. A worthy brand ambassador of Nova Scotia.
