I'm from Victoria, and had dinner here tonight after visiting an old friend in Duncan. First of all, my meal was absolutely fantastic. The butter chicken and aloo gobi were really delicious and among some of the best local Indian cuisine I've had, and everything was super fresh and hot. The rice and naan were absolutely done perfectly.
I did find it a little pricey, but I left with enough leftovers for lunch tomorrow so given the portion and quality I feel I got my money's worth.
Regarding the service, there was no friendly follow up to ask how my meal was, and I had to get up to ask for a water refill. But more than that, the server just didn't seem happy to be there. I actually felt a bit bad for her.
I do recommend to the owner to hire staff who would be happy to work there, even just one or two experienced servers. That might even lift the spirits of the existing staff. Happy staff make for happy customers, and given the food here is already fantastic, that would make this restaurant a solid 5 star establishment.
That all said, the food was good enough that I look forward to coming back on my next trip up island. I would just be relieved to be greeted by happier servers!

The food is EXCELLENT> I know whoever is cooking loves their work.
The service is full of kindness and consideration. Rajni is so generous she brings delicious extra treats. The atmosphere is full of colour and warmth with attentive service. Try it you'll love it.
Really tasty Indian well reviewed by all who ate with us there. Great service. Excellent meal ingredients, spice, nan and portions. Clean washrooms. Ample parking. We will visit again.
My partner and I enjoyed our experience at Heritage Indian Cuisine! As a small business owner myself I was impressed by the cleanliness, quality food, and attention to detail by the staff. Our server was amazing and I felt she did a great job making us comfortable. I’ll definitely be back again, my new favourite Indian restaurant!
The food at Heritage Indian Cuisine in Duncans exceptional! Very Very tasty and well prepared and you can choose among many menu options. I love the service at the place and the chef is so friendly with the guests and always takes care to offer the best quality! I highly recommend this place.
I visited heritage duncan with my friend had a great time . The atmosphere is so nice and the food is the best. Portion size are generous and the staff working is very good and served us very nicely. I have visited both the location of heritage and have always left with full stomach and happy. Highly recommend. Don't forget to try the tandoori chicken 😋.
Good food, great place . Great place for North Indian food, I would say exceptional but when it comes to South Indian dishes barely okayish.
Me and my ex fiancé ate here every payday sometimes twice in a week and it was always Phenomenal!!
Well today I tried to order the same thing and could not for the life of me remember what it was called so I just agreed with the lady on the phone and when I got it I realized it was definitely not the same, they offered to replace it , aswell helped me find what it was actually called, gave me the other order and rice as I didn’t order any!!
Great customer service , amazing food and genuinely good people!! If your looking for high quality food… THIS IS THE PLACE 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰. Thank you guys !
