I was up in Cow Bay with my partner and her mother looking at a bite to eat. We saw Rob's Lighthouse and it was about our speed. I ordered a wrap with chicken and bacon, while my partner and her mom got fish n chips. We were totally rocked by how delicious each dish was and were happy to have such great, speedy service. My chicken wrap was juicy, flavourful and didn't bust apart at a moments notice. I tried some of the fish too and they had the battering just perfect! I would 100% eat here again and have recommended friends to do so as well. Great art as well by the owner just next to the restaurant as well. Kudos to Rob's Lighthouse Eatery!!
I love their poutine it's the best poutine ever! I also had a milkshake and it was amazing. Their service can be a bit slow, but over all I love love this place!
I love the onion rings. It's hard to fund traditional, bread crumb free, good ol fashion rings. Robs has them. I have not ordered anything else from here.
Good, when they have everything. I visit regularly. Depending on the day, they are sometimes out of stock on some things, which I find annoying. The service is alright, but I don't find the lady especially warm and friendly. The gentleman is much better. If its rainy, or chilly, they have a shelter in front of it to dine inside of, which has a warm fireplace. The food is always pretty good.
Kudos for Great Service. Wonderful people working here, and when the people are great, so is the experience. Night and day from the surly servers over at the Pub, and way better food.
Top Ten. This is a wonderful place to dine take-out style when on the road. Rob and wife provide both high quality tasty food and friendly service. I have had the best tasting fish and chips ever , and recently a very good Kayak wrap that dispels the myth I have to travel to France to get good food. My Victoria favourites are Santiago's and Lao Vientiane.
I enjoyed it. Great poutine, but the grilled cod is better bet than the cod burger; they need to rethink their cod:bun ratio.
Robs has the best coffee in Cowichan Bay. Better than the bakery, better than Zoes, better than at the cheese shop. Only the Cow Bay Cafe comes close. Robs uses a one-shot premium brand espresso machine. Lavazza makes the best tasting cappuccinos and americanos. Always a friendly face at the window, with covered Woodstove heated seating across from the takeout window. A great place to meet friends for that morning cup, or for a nice light lunch.
Of late, they have begun serving some of the best fish and chips in the bay too. Hand battered to order, I found it crispy and nice and moist inside. Not nearly as greasy as just down the road.
We decided to try this place out because it was busy. It's just a take out window on the boardwalk with a few tables in front. We ordered the halibut and chips and some calamari. They were really good. The calamari was very lightly battered and well seasoned. The fish batter was tasty and did not fall away from the fish when you cut your fish. The lady running the kitchen was super nice. And apparently we got there just in time - a few minutes later she had to close because they ran out of food :)
.... it was a good experience at lunch regarding the food, our tiny terror was another story. We followed lunch by taking him through the piers and to look at the Wooden Boat Associations display where Charlie hammered a nail for the first time.
Large portions for a great price. Highly recommend the thai chicken wraps and onion rings! This place is a gem in the Cowichan bay strip.
Tried this place for the first time today. It was really worth it. The Clam chowder is delicious. The fries were cooked perfectly and retained their heat till the last one. I also ordered the Thai chicken wrap….. it was sooo delicious I live in Nanaimo but I’d drive to eat there again.
We love this place! The staff/owners are lovely and kind, and their food is consistently delicious. Our go-to is their veggie quesadilla and veggie wrap. Oh my! Fresh ingredients, excellent veggie patties and tasty sauces/sides. The fries are fresh and crispy too. So good I’m drooling just thinking about it. In fact we’re going back right now to try their veggie burger. Thank you for the delicious food and excellent customer service!
Good burgers and fries, freshly made using Real Cheese - NOT "cheese food slices". Really nice staff. Al Fresco dining.
The pulled pork was nicely smoked and served with a tasty BBQ sauce and slaw.
Amazing food everytime accompanied by amazing staff and healthly portions. Wont disappoint.
