Have been there twice. Had beef noodle, dumplings and sasame noodles. They were all tasty. I'm not Taiwanese but their food seem authentic. Service was good. The wait was a bit longer than other restaurants but guess they make it fresh. No MSG so it's a plus. Will definitely go back again
This is a little gem in Coquitlam some of the best spicy beef noodles soup around also gotta try the handmade dumplings only downside is that they don’t offer much other than soups they do one thing & they do it right
This restaurant is awesome! The service might be a little slow, but the noodles and especially the bubble tea tastes great! I would say that the soup is kind of bland, though.
Great beef noodle. The noodles, beef and tendon were cooked well and very tasty. The soup was a tad on the sweet and thick side - they said no MSG added so I think they probably replaced it with some sugar. In that regard the broth tasted similar to Lao Shan Dong and The One in Burnaby, but more beefy and they use beef shank instead of brisket. I recommend eating it with spicy soybean paste added on.

Ding Hao, which translates to “awesome”, is a Taiwanese establishment that specializes in Taiwanese beef noodle soup and dry noodles. My boyfriend and I have been coming here for two years now and I guess it’s about time that I give them a restaurant review. Out of all the Taiwanese beef noodle places we have visited so far, we always revisit Ding Hao for a hearty bowl of their beef noodle soups.
We came here for a late dinner. Coquitlam doesn't have many Taiwanese restaurants like Richmond and Vancouver. This is one of the few. There is a parking right outside the restaurant. It might be harder to find parking during day time as the same complex has different shops, a small supermarket and a few restaurants. It is easier to find parking at night once those shops are closed.
The restaurant only got a few tables of customers last night. A couple servers served the customers including us. They were polite and nice. The restaurant itself was clean and tidy. The ambiance was comfortable. I did go to some restaurants with old and dirty furniture. The dirty furniture disgusted me right at the beginning of the meals.
We ordered two bowls of beef and tendon with noodles in soup here. One was spicy and the other one was very spicy. They were average. we couldn't say they were bad but there were better ones out there. We also ordered some Taiwanese popcorn chickens for snacks. These popcorn chickens were baked or fried with bread crumbs? We never had this type of popcorn chicken before but they tasted good.
Based on what we ate and experienced at this restaurant last night, it was great. People in this neighbourhood should come here and give it a try. They have bubble tea here as well. Be aware of the closing time. They close at 9pm or 9:30pm on different days.
New discovery. Great food. My wife and I just accidentally found this restaurant when we bought our insurance at BCAA. Staff are friendly and the restaurant is clean. Most importantly the food are yummy. We already returned twice within a week.
Sesame noodles and dumplings are the best things on the menu! Mango bubble tea is wonderful! Cheap and great eat
Favourite Restaurant (in Coquitlam). The dishes are consistently good, reasonably priced, and the service is friendly. They have the best bubble tea too! (Of course, this is relative to Coquitlam only.)
Menu is enjoyable, nothing oversweetened here! : ). Just really excellent quality of dishes here with everything having discernible and very clean flavours. We particularly have enjoyed the "cool" menu items. My only grumble concerning the food served are that the Vermicelli dishes are a little on the small side, but again just nice and tasty. The slushes are pretty good as well. I would recommend trying this place for the food certainly .... the ambience is more sedate than the Taiwanese spots around Kingsway which to me, is great usually. We weren't feeling exactly welcomed here however. Have been on a couple of occasions now around 1.25 hrs before closing. Have to pay the bill when ordering due to "closing soon", have to be (aggressively) shifted to other tables due to "closing soon" and before the chopsticks even hit the table after completing the meal, the operator is swooping up all of the dishes. They do not have extensive hours closing at 9 or 9:30 as it is and I feel that customers ought to be able to come at 8-ish without being unwanted. I do get that the days are long and everyone wants to go home after perhaps a laborious day.
Gotta love a place where I know exactly what I want without even looking at the menu ❤️ Ding Hao Taiwanese Noodle House. The cooking and flavours here are always spot on, from their handmade dumplings to their signature beef noodle soup with generous portions of tendon. This place feeds my tummy with delicious food and fills my soul with heartwarming nostalgia.
Clean restaurant with plenty of appropriately distanced seating. When you go in, there is a small wait area with a menu as you wait for a server to greet you and take you to your seat. There are also a few chairs off to the side if you’re there for take out. The restaurant serves Taiwanese dishes as well as bubble tea. I only had the popcorn chicken for take out, and it was crunchy and crispy. Would go back again to try their beef noodles. Plenty of parking available in the plaza.
Cute little place with spaced out seating. Had the beef and tendon noodles which was delicious. Super tender and flavorful. The noodles were just so so. The salt and pepper chicken nuggets were great because I haven't had them in a very long time.
Lots of free parking, they take credit, bathroom was decent. A pretty average meal other than the fact that they never came around to refill my tea and I left feeling a little parched as I was there to catch up with a friend so we were chatting lots.
I was not really hungry when I went to the restaurant but still had a good experience.
We ordered the popcorn chicken to share, small signature beef and tendon noodle soup, and small pickled mustard greens & pork noodle soup. They’re quite generous with the portions so be prepared to not finish everything.
Beef and tendon soup had a strong beef flavour and had a bit of sour note. I personally really enjoy this type of noodle soup but if you want something more mild, the mustard green and shredded pork noodle soup is probably more up your alley. Popcorn chicken is a must-try in my opinion and it would suit most people’s taste buds.
I will revisit this place again when I’m more hungry to fully enjoy their noodle soup :)
Soft, juicy tendon in the spicy beef soup. Incredibly tasty broth and fresh dumplings. Deep fried tofu is perfectly crispy. Bubble tea comes in a generous sized glass mug.
The place was packed on a Tuesday afternoon, so that's good to see. The area I was sitting smelled like bleach, so that was a bit off putting. I ordered their signature beef noodle soup and the cuttlefish balls. The cuttlefish balls were fantastic, don't sleep on those. Really good umami and bouncy texture, with a hint of Chinese 5 spice I believe.
The large soup was good, but it was missing something... The broth is deep and rich, you can taste a slight beef flavor and a slight sour note from the pickled mustard leaves. It still needed a kicker, so I asked for their chili sauce which took this to the next level. I seriously recommend getting a side of their chili sauce if you order this and put it in the soup. They don't skimp on their cuts of beef; also, I wish their noodles were more chewy, but that's a minor nitpick. Overall a solid experience, I don't often see Taiwanese cuisine represented so this was exciting for me to try.
So yummy I'm still thinking about it! We came here for lunch. First time eating in since covid and it did not disappoint. The beef was so soft and tender and the soup was full of flavour. The noodles were delicious. The small size is like a full reg size bowl of noodles. Really tasty. Good service. Would definitely come here again for Taiwanese beef noodle soup.
Visited on July 21. Haven't been to this restaurant in over 5+ years, and was not even sure if they were still operating. Pleasantly surprised they are still open. Started with the popcorn chicken and had the beef and tendon noodle soup. Overall, thought the quality of the food was good. The popcorn chicken was tasty, but a tad salty in certain parts. The beef noodle was good. Broth had a strong beef flavour with good chunks of meat and tendon. If I was to complain, the broth might have been a tad too strong, if that makes sense. Might be me, but it does have a slight bitter after taste. As well, I thought the noodles bordered close to linguine noodles. Not a major complaint as the noodles has a nice chew.
Service was excellent and food came out quickly. Good to know that the quality has not declined since the last time I was there.
