Never had a bad experience with service or food. Even on a super busy weekend morning everyone is smiles and we never wait long at all for our food. Love this place!

Happy 87th Birthday Mom!
Today is my mom's birthday and for some strange reason we decided to come out to The Olde Ren Hen Restaurant out in Collingwood, California for something different.
The restaurant is quite nice with many very old radios all over the place, along with many pictures for your viewing pleasure.
For Lunch: We had the following:
Turkey
Chicken Fingers
Garden Salad
Chocolate Milk
Diet Coke
Diet Coke
The Food Tasted Great and we were More Than Satisfied With Our Meal and with Joe, Our Waiter!
After Our Meal: My mother was brought over some Cupcakes and We All Sang Happy Birthday To Her!
My Mom Felt Like A Celebrity In "The Olde Red Hen Restaurant"!

Today's trip was northwest of the city, and we arrived in Collingwood just in time for lunch. After a quick review of diner dining options on the Zomato app, we found The Olde Red Hen. The restaurant is fairly large for a diner and was about half full, so there wasn't any problem for the four of us getting a table. Lots of photos on the wall, mostly in two categories: hockey and historical ship building and ship launching, from days gone by.
SWMBO decided to have the Chicken Fingers and Salad. Competently deep fried to a golden brown. I had the Mushroom Omelette with Home Fries. The home fries were not the typical diced potatoes, but were thinly sliced and fried, with very little caramelization. I prefer having some crispiness on the outside of my potatoes.
Service was just okay. We had to remind the server to bring one of our drinks.
This place will treat you like family, without the obvious scrutiny you'd receive for whatever shenanigans you got up to the night before. The shipyard breakfast combo 👌
Ate breakfast there today and it never disappoints. Bacon was cooked to perfection, egg up was exactly the way it should be. Toast on the other hand could have been toasted more, it was really warmed bread. Breakfast for Two under $20 you can't go wrong.
Excellent. A couple friends and I ate at the Old Red Hen Restaurant after a spa weekend, we absolutely loved it! A great end to a great weekend! The service was fast, surprising due to how busy they were.
I had one egg with peameal, the peameal was so tender, my knife glided through it, I ordered my egg over hard and most restaurants end up over cooking the egg turning it into a flat piece of rubber, not the Old Red Hen! My egg was so fluffy and cooked perfectly inside! And the potatoes! Normally I do not enjoy potatoes cooked this way, I usually like homefries that are deepfried and crispy but the seasoning used on these potatoes was excellent! This was absolutely the best breakfast experience I have had in a restaurant! I live about an hour away from Collingwood and will be looking for any excuse to come here for breakfast in the future! Thank you!
