Strolling through downtown along Hurontario Street yesterday, I thought I'd check out this interesting shop. I thought I was only window shopping, but I ended up buying three items. As I browsed their unique items, I discovered a secret eatery at the back. Wow, as soon as this gentleman told me what's on the menu, I decided to come back later to settle for a bite to eat. I asked if I could leave the bag I had purchased and she obliged. I didn't have to carry the items while walking through the other shops. After a couple of hours, I came back and asked for the menu. The owner said that his wife who is cooking in the kitchen. From a pleasant greetings to a quick service, it was a delightful experience. Delicious home made french onion soup served with fresh home baked sour dough bread, quiche and ceasar's salad, grilled lobster sandwich and garden salad and opted for lemon lavander tart for dessert. I was so famished that I gobbled it all up. Even the burke & higgins tea was served in a glass and teapot with fresh milk. It was surprisingly a real treat away from the crowded restaurants. Not only I would highly recommend this up close and personal eatery, I would come back anytime when I am in Collingwood. Very nice ambiance, great food, excellent service and very nice couple. Thank you for introducing me to a secret and beautiful place that I have been waiting to be discovered. Sorry that I forgot to ask for your names Thanks also to the lady at the front cash. My daughter and her friends will be coming on Saturday.
My wife and I were celebrating our wedding anniversary walking through town and happened to discover this wonderful place at the back of a very interesting store. This was our first time in Collingwood. We can only say that we were absolutely delighted. The soup, quiche and salad that we had were amazing. Very good portions with great flavour, and of course nicely decorated. But the best was yet to come. Dessert was awesome. The lemon tart was literally to die for. What made the visit even better was the great friendly service we received from Mike & Linda. It's the best kept secret in town. We not only recommend it but is a place we'll go back in the future for sure.
