We came here 3 days in a row because we loved everything we tried so much. Highly recommend the carrot cake, lemon meringue pie (or coconut lemon square for smaller portion) and cheese croissant!

The best butter tarts, shortbread is very soft and the filling is so buttery and yummy. Nice combo 👌🏽 tried their chocolate and cheese croissants, egg sandwich (wasn’t good unfortunately), apple turnover and cranberry scone. Tasted ok, nothing special. Would come back for tarts for sure!

I’m so glad we stopped here! Best cheese croissant I’ve ever had! And my uncle bought everything else and said it was all great! :)

Caroline and I dropped in for an early lunch on our way home from riding the Cabot Trail. There was a small lineup as their maximum amount of customers allowed inside is limited to three persons at a time, but I found myself wishing I had more room in my luggage as I witnessed the staff preparing the breads in the back. Caroline ordered a glazed cinnamon roll and a Smoked meat on rye sandwich, with a coffee, while I couldn’t pass up a cheese croissant with a Smoked meat on rye. Just outside there are a couple of picnic tables so we were able to remove our masks and enjoy the food in comfort. The croissant was amazing! Had I known how wonderful, I would have bought a half dozen to take with me! Caroline shared her cinnamon roll with me, and we both enjoyed the sandwiches. Their rye is made with caraway and turned it into a signature sandwich that we both enjoyed. I’ve added this is a waypoint so we can stop in and sample more of their breads and desserts.

A must stop for anyone touring the Cabot Trail, Aucoin is a mainstay serving up freshly baked goods at incredibly reasonable prices! Skip the cookies and cinnamon rolls (they're unfortunately dry and flour-y), but the butter tarts and cupcakes were among the best I've ever had. The donuts are decent, too.

One of the highlights of our visit to Cape Breton was our (multiple) visits to this incredible bakery near Cheticamp. Everything we bought was absolutely delicious. Don’t miss the plate rolls (soft brioche like dinner rolls), the unique butterscotch pie, and the best butter tarts we’ve ever eaten.

The beef & pork meat pie is the best we've ever had. Extremely handy to heat in a small oven (only takes 15 minutes from fresh) & delicious.
