Review The Old Triangle Irish Alehouse - Charlottetown

Came to the Triangle house on Sunday for dinner. We ordered fish cakes and fish tacos and sat on the patio sipping out Caesars while we waited. The food was VERY bland. The fish tacos came out and looked so beautiful (great presentation) but you could eat a piece of unseasoned fish on plain lettuce and have the same effect. I ordered fries with it with their curry mayo and that was excellent. My mom said her crab cakes were okay and the house salad dressing was very good. The patio is spacious and they have done a good job with decor it just unfortunately backs on to a kind of gross alley. Maybe they should consider putting up a green wall or something when the season picks up to elevate the experience. Overall it was fine but I wouldn't rush back.

We are visiting PEI and while walking along. We came across The Old Triangle pub. So we decided to stop in for an early dinner. It was a nice surprise that they had some authentic Irish music being played by musicians. We grabbed a high table in the back. A cold beer and a bowl of seafood chowder was on the menu for me. The wife got a half sandwich and a cup of the chowder. I have been sampling chowder all over NS for the last week or so. I can say without a doubt, that this was the best seafood chowder I've had in a while. I truly enjoyed my dinner as did the wife. The beer was pretty good also! Our server was wonderful and friendly. She helped make our visit much better than it could have been. This was a truly nice surprise I wasn't expecting when strolling along and coming across this nice pub. But I'm so glad we decided to enter and give them a try.

Great food and service. Had the # peiburgerloveandpotatolove The Pot of Gold and Gold Nuggets, they were delicious, would definitely recommend.

Excellent pub atmosphere. One of the best burger and fries I ever had. The patty was cooked perfectly, seared on the outside and a juicy medium well interior. The fries had a crispy exterior with a tender interior and seasoned well. The Guiness was perfect. The staff were friendly and prompt and the prices were fair. The old Triangle definitely did not disappoint.

Wad actually at "The Pour House". The young ladies treated me better than my own family (albeit a low bar). By the second visit, the addressed me by name. OUTSTANDING service... thank you so very much!!!

We were a table of seven and were there for burger love. Our waitress was fantastically funny and accommodating. The burger and salad were delicious. Thank you for a great evening.

Great experience, a large "Family" band played Celtic instrumental pieces, very talented musicians.

Great place! Great music, incredible food, and very friendly staff with great service. With the live Celtic music and Irish dancers it felt like we in a little pub in Ireland. We will be back!!

Thought I’d give this place a second chance, and I Shouldn’t have. The wait was unbearable, plus the food wasn’t even eatable when we got it! Worse customer service, paid full price for three meals we ate 1/4 of. Will never tell anyone to come here.

There are no bar owners around Charlottetown who do more for their community than Paul. Also, for supporting LIVE music and touring musicians, you will not find any establishment in Charlottetown that comes close. Everything about the Old Triangle is pure, welcoming, and special! I've lived in Ireland where the patrons in the pubs are in no rush to finish a pint, and have lots of conversation. I like that the Old Triangle provides such a relaxed atmosphere that encourages this from the old country. Thanks for everything you do Old Triangle!!!!! #pei

Phenomenal pub with an outstanding menu and a great staff.......always a treat to visit the OT!

Had drinks and munchies and listened to some great live music! But best of all our server kept the drinks coming without fail ;) Well done and highly recommended!

Home from home. Great food, great drink and great atmosphere with very friendly staff. If it's music you're looking for - head to the Old Triangle. The bossman, Paul, is simply a legend. �

Cant recommend Jill, Paul and the team at Old Triangle Charlottetown enough for their incredible service, preparation, quality, attention to detail and follow-up for an event of up to 100 people that they catered for us. The food was excellent, the menu is plentiful, and the pricing was very fair. Will absolutely be back for future events!

Tried the Curried Shrimp Fettuccine special last night and was BLOWN away! Best dish I have had in a long time! Love this place (like a second home). Great food - fantastic atmosphere! Oh did I mention the live traditional music?

Very nice place and I honestly believe your home brew is one of the best ales I've had in my life. Wish I could take some back home with me. Thanks for the good times.
