Review Prairie Inn Neighbourhood Pub - Central Saanich

Old school pub in the area, very nice and patio is covered and airy at the same time! If you dare to try the BELLY BUSTER hold on to your god damn pants, because you won't be able to walk afterwards!!! Ask for an extra plate to put your burger on and DO NOT TAKE THE TOOTHPICKS OUT!!! Service could be a bit more attentive, please provide coasters to the patrons so it doesn't make a mess on a glass table ;(

This was a very cozy neighborhood pub. If you love sports then this is the place for you. Always has the sound on and always has multiple games going. You can play keno here too. Food is pretty decent. Wouldn't recommend eggs benny but other breakfast was good.

If I could give this place 10 stars, I would. Service was exceptional, food was amazing and ambiance incredible. Prairie fries.... You need these! Definitely coming back here as often as we can!

The food was very good. I had the seafood Monte Cristo sandwich. It was huge and enough curly fries for two hungry people. I took half of my meal home for another meal. The Clubhouse was soo big that my friend had trouble opening his mouth wide enough to take a Bite! We really enjoyed the rustic interior as well.

Excellent food and great service! We’re always on a hunt for a good Caesar and it was delicious here. We had the fish taco starter, Prairie Inn fries, and fish & chips everything was fantastic and the portions were huge! Highly recommend this place!!

Service was excellent, super friendly greeting from who I think was the owner right off the bat. Serving staff super genuinely friendly and helpful. Fish & chips were awesome and huge helpings. A great supper on the patio!

Great place to eat the food is outstanding staff amazingly freindly. We had the breakfast which was a hardy meal and tasty! Loved the bacon from the Red Barn with the potatoe slices and two eggs. Ny wife had the egg Bennies which were great. Always great meals everytime we go there from the mainland!!

Good old-fashioned pub food and solid care were taken with preparation. The staff were friendly and good considering how busy it was with some larger groups coming and few customers having some interpersonal conflict. They navigated the situations very well, and we had a great lunch.

Cheerful and friendly staff when I placed takeaway order. Generous portions of food, which was delicious. #1 favourite is the Turkey Dip sandwich: turkey piled high, perfectly soft-yet-slightly-crunchy stuffing, tangy cranberry sauce, topped with Swiss cheese. Sturdy bun that holds together and doesn't disintegrate part way through meal. Crispy, coated chips.

What a great place to go with your friends, coworkers and family. Amazing nachos. Amazing service. Amazing atmosphere.

Always a fan of being able to see General Lee signing his surrender while I eat. Good food. Cheap beer for these days. Nice pub like atmosphere with lots of rooms to keep the general noise down. Get the Mexifries it's worth the upgrade !

A very busy pub-style restaurant. The staff are very friendly and efficient and the food comes fairly quickly. The food is excellent and the portions are large. This restaurant is our favourite.

Hands down best creole chicken salad in the Greater Victoria area! We travel all the way from town to the Prairie Inn at least once a week. They have a really great selection of pub style food and it always test fresh, never greasy. In fact we can’t say that we have ever had a bad meal there. We highly recommend the homemade soups as well, especially the mushroom, super hardy and creamy, delicious. The venue is a historic building and has kept most of its old-times look which is fun. There is interesting historic décor all around as well which makes for something to look at. The feel of the PI is as though you’re sitting in your own living room having dinner. It can get really busy there so we try to avoid peak times or head in a little early. Sundays are usually our day to go for salad so at times we struggle to get a table as there are a lot of people with our same great idea! There are children allowed at the PI which as parents we think is nice, but with that being said at times there have been those parents with little kids that forget they are not at Denny’s and let their kids act more like they’re at the McDonalds play place. Word of advice to parents taking kids to a pub environment… This is a great opportunity for children to learn how to behave in an adult setting. The staff is really great and we’ve never had an unfriendly server. Our last meal took a little long to come out, an hour, but that was totally unusual and has never happened before. All in all the Prairie Inn remains one of our favorite places to go for an affordable and delicious date night out and even a family meal. It's a fun environment with sports on the T.V.'s, lots people and tons of laughter. It's a great location if you have other shopping to do or are just looking for a Sunday motorcycle ride and lunch. We give it 5 stars!

We just happened upon this little pub and were so happy we did! The service was amazing, the kids menu is great, the portions were large and everything tasted awesome!

Decided to try this place walking distance from our airbnb. The drinks and appies were well made and the service was great. The only thing was that the steak could use better flavouring and meat quality. Quesadillas and tuxedo burger as also great choices!

The Prairie Inn Pub is just down the road from us and is our place of choice for pub food, however, I have to say that we have never had better fish and chips anywhere in Victoria as we had tonight! Everything was outstanding, the place was jam-packed but that didn't show... the great service and friendliness from all the servers was outstanding. Carol was our drinks lady and really impressed us when she arrived with a flask of hot water to top up one of our glasses (crazy I know drinking hot lemon water, but that's another story-lol)... Seriously though, where have you ever had that? I have to give this fabulous pub a 5 Star rating! we couldn't fault it - and to top it off; the barman acknowledged us as we passed on our way out with a super friendly smile and a "Have a good one, folks!" Well done to the owners, managers and staff!

The food was excellent. I had the Neptune platter-almost too much on the plate. My husband had the Seafood Ruben- shame it was immitation crab, but tasty nonetheless!

Tiana is the best. Also, if you like burgers, you should get a burger here. They have good burgers. Burgers.

I love Cobb Salad, it is huge and full of flavor. Wings are the best! Tuxedo Burgers are great too! I enjoy Thursday evenings Wings and Burgers, yommie!

Great place to eat most nights. When they're to busy they won't accept take out orders though which is very annoying! Started to go to chucks burger bar instead which is 1000% better than these guys.

Your Octoberfest special was delicious! Schnitzels, topped with mushrooms and gravy, sweet & Sour red cabbage, (really good) perogies and fried onions topped with sour cream ...yum ! Will it be on again this weekend? Please?

yes it was crazy busy last night but an hour to wait for food isn't ok. we were only a table of 2 who ordered before our neighbours of 2 people yet they got their meal first. They actually got the 'to go' meal before the meal arrived! The table of 8 on the other side of us had their orders come out ONE AT A TIME. it was probably 10 min between the first and last person being served. not once but twice we were told our order was coming right up. ..12 minutes later it arrived, after already waiting too long.

Great local business employing great local people providing great local food and brews... very happy to have the PI as our neighborhood pub!
