Great Food, Great Price. We had heard from some coworkers that the Asian Bistro was a great place to eat. Since we were going to be in the area we decided to eat there. The food was great and service fast and friendly. We would eat here again and look forward to going back.
We arrived at about 7:45pm on a Tuesday night and the place was over two thirds full. The menu is a combination of Cambodian and Thai food with a smattering of quasi-Japanese. All the food we had was very flavorful but not overpoweringly spicy. Having been to Thailand several times, I found this food much milder than Thailand but I am sure they can spice it up for chili heads. I enjoy spicy found and found this food to be about right for an average palate. I personally could have used more spice, but I had several children with me, several of which don't like spicy food. I also found that the use of fish sauce was on the light side.
We ordered:
Chicken Curry (approx cost $12)
Chicken Teriyaki (approx cost $12)
Thai Chicken Soup ($5--to die for)
Lemon Grass Pork (Approx cost $11)
The lemon grass pork had a mild lemon grass flavor with a stronger flavor of cracked pepper. It was good. Teriyaki could have used a more robust flavor compared to straight Japanese restaurants. The chicken curry was very well seasoned. The soup was some of the best I've had--including in Thailand. All meals came with rice and either a stir fried veg or fresh almost salsa like side salad. I don't recall there being any Tuk Trey/Nam Pla with the dishes we ordered.
