BBQ 🦆 duck was amazing!! Was driving through Ottawa, and stopped and the Fisherman’s palace. Cozy little local Chinese restaurant run by a family! We went for a bbq duck dish, and a beef sauté, along side an egg roll. The duck was delicious, generous and served with an amazing sauce, as you can see in the picture. The beef 🥩 sauté with vegetables was also scrumptious! Service was excellent, a big 4 ⭐️ for this family owned restaurant!
We went in to order a couple of combinations plates. The decor isn't anything fancy but the food sure makes up for it. The food was freshly made and flavourful. The general tao chicken had a bit of a crispness to it and the chicken was tender. Highly recommend
My boss and I had combo plates for lunch and it was amazing. The quantity of food was out of this world, you definitely get your moneys worth. The quality of the food was equally amazing. The staff was very pleasant and cheerful. I would recommend this Chinese restaurant to everyone that loves Chinese. Great experience and will be getting lunch there frequently.
We Ordered for takeout. It was hot, fresh and delicious. They even modified ingredients to make GF. Will definitely order and go back again.
One word...delicious!! Extensive menu, Cantonese /Szechuan on top of regular menu with more known favorites. Excellent egg rolls...always fresh. Vegetables cooked perfectly...never over-done. Generous with meat ex. chicken balls, garlic spare ribs and really great sauces. Can't say enough about this little resto. The only thing preventing me from giving a 5.0 review is they need to invest carefully on some decor for in-restaurant dining...perhaps that will come.
Fisherman's Palace is a new Carleton Place eatery and out-take that is woefully under patronized. Why should you eat there? The food is fresh and wonderfully tasty, the portions are large and the price is fair. Consider ordering their Chicken or Jumbo Shrimp in Peaches and Cream sauce. It may sound like a weird combination but it is wonderful. The father knows how to cook! The 'ambience' is nothing to write home about - really nothing, right down to the partly painted walls. The restaurant looks like a sorry KFC because it was and little has changed. But all of this is unimportant. The food is good, the rest-rooms clean and the family friendly and attentive. I suspect that once they get better established, the rest of the painting will be painted. For now, their priority is on the food freshness and quality. Eat up or order out (pick-up only).
My wife and I enjoyed our first meal at Fisherman Palace this evening. Excellent food, generous portions, and very fair prices. Staff were kind and courteous. Extremely pleased to discover that the staff are knowledgeable and accommodating when it comes to food allergies. The menu offers both authentic and Canadian style Chinese cuisine. The produce used to produce our meals was fresh and well prepared. I highly recommend this restaurant if you are planning to dine in Carleton Place.
We had a Christmas party with Chinese food from here, the spicy vegetable, crispy ginger chicken and honey garlic ribs got the best review but all 18 dishes were good! They are open Mondays which was very handy as well.

The sweet and sour ginger chicken was absolutely its delicious the best I have tasted.
We also tried the Kong po chicken it was also very flavourful and had the perfect amount of heat/ spices and was also delicious. Definitely we will return. Thank you fisherman palace❤️
Yesterday I picked up 2 dinners for 7 at Fisherman Palace. Also, garlic shrimp with broccoli, shrimp with mixed vegetables, as well as Szechuan Spicy Mixed Vegetables, and Kung Pao Bean Curd for two vegetarian grandkids. My family had a birthday banquet that night.
Everything was beautifully wrapped up for taking out, and the food was, without exception, delicious!
The Fisherman Palace cook(s) (?) are something special. The premises could use some sprucing up to be worthy of them, but the food is beyond reproach. I don't live in Carleton Place but made the trip just for this. Highest possible recommendation from me!
We decided to stop in here on our way back from Ottawa to Kingston. The reviews were spot on.
1. Best Chinese food in a long time—fresh sautéed veggies, egg rolls were stuffed with meat not bean sprouts. Everything including the plates were hot.
2. Prices were great and portions were HUGE! We ordered dinner for 4 ( there were three of us and figured there might be a takeout container to take home—wrong. We left with a full bag of leftovers!
3. Service was great! Very friendly server, the cook was also friendly. Quaint and quiet restaurant.
Overall 5 stars! We will definitely return next time through.
Food is excellent- the CA32 Sesame Beef is reminiscent of the Crispy Beef from the sadly-missed Ho Ho in Ottawa (I have no higher compliment for Chinese food). Portions are good, prices are reasonable - the one lost star is because it's often my experience that they underestimate the time for food to be ready by 10-15 minutes.
We waited a long time for our food. That's the only reason this isn't a 5-star review. To be fair, it was New Years Day and the takeout side was already backed up for hours. When the food arrived, the wait was forgiven. Delicious! The bbq ½-duck was perfectly cooked, juicy -- one of the best I've had. The vegetables were fresh and firm. The egg rolls were an original home recipe made in-house and so tasty. I'll be back...but will plan to order ahead of time to avoid the wait.
My wife and I were very impressed with this restaurant. Excellent food, generous portions, fresh produce, friendly staff, and fair prices. Pleasantly surprised to find the staff are knowledgeable and accommodating when it comes to food allergies. Outside of major cities it is difficult to find authentic Asian cuisine. We were extremely pleased to find that the Fisherman Palace offers both Canadian style Chinese food as well as genuine cuisine - there's going to be something on the menu to please any palate. Thanks for a great meal!

absolutely the best Chinese food in town, phenomenal service and courteous staff every time we go. there's no beating fisherman's palace when it comes to Chinese food in Carleton place. if you're not sure what to get i recommend the combo #1 or #8
Food was excellent as usual. Their egg rolls aren't quite as good as some others in town but still nice and their crispy chicken and beef are amazing. Often takes longer than they say though.
Absolutely awesome food. Very generous portions. You can tell it's all homemade and not prebought/frozen. Egg rolls have a little to much pepper but still very very good. Honey garlic spareribs have ALOT of meat on them and tasty. Chicken fried rice has lots of chicken in it and big pieces. Chicken balls were bigger than the other places. Awesome covid procedures in place!!! Try it. The Fisherman's Palace will be your new favorite!!!
