We've eaten here several times and have never been disappointed. Excellent food and a decent wine selection. Some favourite meals on the menu as well as interesting specials every time. It's a very intimate little restaurant that seems very well managed. The service is usually spot on altho' new servers are less accomplished. For example, the specials as described to us didn't have the same detail as when described by the other server. (No worries, we heard it described table beside us without any trouble! �) Stands up well to anything Ottawa has to offer. We'll return and will continue to recommend it to our friends.

My husband and I ended up at the Black Tartan for our 9th anniversary last night upon recommendation of a friend. I cannot say enough good things about it. Upon arrival I had a white rose waiting and a complimentary glass of bubbly for both of us. It happened to be 'date night' at the restaurant so they have a special sharing menu. We ordered the escargot for our app (to die for, best I ever had) I had the rainbow trout and my husband had the steak. A feast for the eyes and palate. Finished it off with classic creme brulé. Soo good. Great service and delicious food. Will definitely return.
