Each dish brought to our table looked like a piece of art, and left me excited for the next course! I loved how fresh the vegetables were, how tender the pork was, not to mention the richness of the sauce on the pasta! I had to ask for a spoon so I could scoop up every drop of that delicous sauce!
The setting is homey and inviting, making it the perfect pairing for an evening of fine dining in a rural setting.
Can't wait to see what's on the July menu!
This was our 2nd time dining at Bessie North House and it was nothing less than amazing! Susan is so warm and inviting and Dave's menu never disappoints. Can't wait to come again
I cannot say enough amazing things about the food and the whole experience. We felt at home from the moment Susan greeted us when we arrived. The atmosphere, the host and the chef were all incredible. Highly recommend this restaurant. You will leave wanting more. Thank you so much for a great experience Susan and Chef Dave!
Was outstanding menu. Oddly a simple carrot soup was my favorite dish. And I know people are thinking.....carrot soup, okay how is that special, but let me tell you that carrots were distilled into carrot butter and carrot sugar then combined to elevated a simple soup into something unique and memorable.

My wife and I made the trip up to Bessie North House and both agree that it was by and far the best meal that we have had in Nova Scotia. Our 7 course meal was carefully orchestrated, paying great attention to detail. The flavours, textures, and presentation left nothing to be desired. The service was friendly, prompt, and playful, yet professional with a strong knowledge base.
We would most certainly recommend this experience to anybody who has even a modicum of appreciation for food.

A wonderful dining experience late Oct. 2019 for a party of five very pleased diners. All 7 courses ranged from delicious to spectacular. Also a culinary learning experience: asked for and received the soup recipe - made it at home exactly as written and turned out almost as good (we lacked truffles). Bring good wine.
Cozy atmosphere, lovely hosts and excellent food. Lots of variety between each of the 7 courses. Will be coming back in the near future. If you're looking for a great meal, this is the place!
Best restaurant in Nova Scotia. Food is creative, perfectly seasoned, and masterfully cooked. Front of house provides an exceptional ambiance and experience. A must for any food lover!
