We arrived on a Saturday night - 6 of us - hungry but with no reservation. Although they were completely booked, they kindly offered us their heated patio and we had an amazing meal. Highly recommend the pork and beef ...and we loved their version of the Caprese salad. Friendly, hospitable service ....will definately be back.
I had a fantastic bridesmaid dinner here before the wedding! We were a group of 9 and had a reservation and everything went super smoothly. The atmosphere was very romantic, clean and beautiful. The staff were polite, professional, fast and attentive. The food was AMAZING, definitely the best vegetarian dish I've had in a long time. House-made sangria's were fantastic as well. All 9 of us loved the restaurant. Will definitely be going back.
I come here every time I'm in Canmore and it never disappoints. Wonderful, well-presented food, great service and a lovely atmosphere keep it at the top of my list of favorite restaurants every year.
The food and service are excellent! Mooshue duck appetizer was incredible!

Loved! Booked reservations based on TripAdvisor reviews and was not disappointed. The bruschetta was delicious as a starter and we had the duck and steak.
The food, the service, the ambience... it was all perfect. I think I have a new favourite restaurant and will make the drive from Calgary more often.

A friend told me about The Trough, she said if you choose one place to eat, make it The Trough. She was right. Everything was above expectation. The staff were friendly, the service was fantastic, and the food was outstanding. This is definitely a Canadian culinary destination. I will (and already have) recommend to everyone I know!

The only knock was the menu on their website wasn't updated. We started the night quite disappointed as the website menu had a few dishes we were very excited to try. But thankfully we still enjoyed our dinner. Canmore has some great restaurants and Trough is one of them.
This place was amazing. From the moment we entered you could tell that they really cared about the dining experience. Each of us ordered separate items and all were delicious. They have the most amazing bruschetta - you will want to order it! The drinks were delicious and I have never seen cleaner stem wear. All this points to the restaurant's focus on detail. Go here! You will not be disappointed!!!!
We loved this restaurant quite a bit: cozy and rustic, with fantastic food. Flavours tied very well together from start to finish through each dish.
This visit saw beautifully fresh food with touches of earth and smoke.

Amazing. This is THE BEST place for fine dining in Canmore. Service was impeccable - fast, friendly but not overbearing. Everything we ordered for the menu was to die for! We come here every time we're out in Canmore and never regret it.
This Gem of a resturant is serving high-end Canadian fusion, all the dishes are packed with complex flavours that compliment one another. The atmosphere is very cozy and inviting with exeptional waiters. I would reccomend this resturant to anyone passing through Canmore.
We made the trip to Canmore for a delicious meal at Trough to celebrate my partners Birthday. We had impeccable service, and the menu although simple offered great diversity and lots of options for their farm to table concept. We had the appetizers: pork belly three ways, and bruschetta. Both were perfectly prepared, platted beautifully and unique flavour profiles. Dinner we had the steak, and the red snapper fish. Again, exquisite presentations and the flavours more than delivered. The dessert was some of the best cheesecake I've ever had... and I've eaten my fair share of the dish haha. The only downside I would say is the glass pour selections for wine was a little limited. Which was challenging since we ordered two dishes that required one red and one white. But it was exceptional none the less! Can't wait to go back, new celebration spot for sure.
We had the best meal here for our last night in Canmore. The beef was outstanding, loved the yellow beets and Bleu cheese crust. My husband had the fish and it was melt in your mouth amazing! The bite size bruschetta with goat cheese and bacon lardons was also a MUST for a starter/appetizer. Our waitress was so welcoming and attentive also. This is a gem of a restaurant. We will definitely be back our next visit to Canmore.
