The halibut was very tasty and crisp. The fries are terrific! I was not impressed with the clam chowder but I would be willing to give the Saturday seafood chowder a try so I’m going back tomorrow! My daughters plate was amazing. The delicious chunk of fish is so impressively thick!!
Update*. We went the next day and wow I’m glad we did 🤩 the Saturday seafood chowder was amazing and the one piece halibut was lightly battered, & not greasy. The place was clean and not terribly busy. I can’t wait to come back!
ABSOLUTELY AMAZING FOOD & SERVICE! Table of two we arrived at 6pm expecting it to be busy and it was !! Always a good sign. Our server was prompt, friendly & extremely efficient. We waited in a short queue and were seated outside where there is a spectacular view of the ocean. We each ordered 2pc halibut & chips. I have never been more satisfied with deep fried fish. Everything about the fish was perfect, crispy yet light on the breading, completely smooth and coated evenly yet no undercooked breading whatsoever. Absolutely amazing food I will be back for sure and will rave Jiggers over & over !! Thank you to our amazing server & cook you guys rock!
I can't believe it took me so long to finally try the legendary Jigger's fish and chips. Easily the best battered fish I've ever had, and my mother agrees (that's a big deal coming from a stout Brit!). I went for lunch with my mom yesterday. We both had the 2-piece halibut. Mom had hers with chips and I subbed my chips for caesar salad. Mom couldn't finish her chips and I couldn't finish my second piece of fish, so I got to have the experience again the following day hehe. I popped them in my air fryer for a few minutes to crisp them up again. Just so good. The batter is traditional, not panko. It's so light and crispy, and the fish is just outstanding. Jigger's is only open from about late spring to early fall, so if you're in the area and the time is right, definitely get in and give them your support!
I wasn't a huge fan of the caesar salad. The dressing is obviously made on site, which is awesome. It is *VERY* garlicky, which I didn't mind, but fair warning to others. The main problem was the amount of dressing used. I felt it was far too much. The lettuce was heavy with it and while eating it I just felt like I had a mouthful of garlicky mayo. I don't know if it's always presented this way or if it was just the person working, but I definitely felt the salad was far too heavy on the dressing front. (I did not tell the server, that's my bad, I should have brought it up), but I still ate it and enjoyed it overall. Oh, it also comes topped with red onions which is a bit uncharacteristic of caesar salad, so if you're allergic or just not a fan of onions (me, lol), this is just a heads up to request no onions. The menu said nothing about onions if I recall correctly, so one wouldn't think to request omitting an ingredient if it isn't listed. They were easy to pick off, so it wasn't a big deal.
Sorry about the picture, we'd already started eating by the time I thought to take one😂
