Review Crabby Bob's Seafood - Campbell River

I had called around Campbell River to find a reasonable hotel for 1 night prior to having surgery. The staff at the High Tide were the most polite in the phone and made sure that I had a quiet room. When I arrived for check in, the front desk manager was really funny and he definitely takes the responsibility of making sure his guests are comfortable. The room itself is nice, and very clean. The beds are quite comfortable and the sheets smell so nice, I’m going to ask what laundry detergent they use! The view from the rooms is a stunning ocean view. I recommend this place and I’ll definitely stay here again.

We went on a fishing charter in Campbell River and High Tide was recommended to use for processing our fish. They did a great job at portioning, suction sealing and freezing our salmon. I would give a 5/5 review but the lady at the counter has very poor customer service ability, she was harsh, impersonable, lacked direction or assistance. We could not get anywhere with our order until Elizabeth, another staff member, helped to guide the process. Elizabeth was wonderful & friendly.

Experiencing the flavours of what comes from a beautiful day of fishing, catching, Spring, Coho, Pink or Chum salmon. High Tide is able to turn it into a delicacy of flavours from Hot smoked either Cajun, Peppered, Natural, or Garlic Peppered. Cold smoked (Lox) can be just that or have it sliced into a perfect thickness for your charcuterie platters at Christmas time, or any type of celebration. High Tide can also make a candied salmon Garlic Peppered, Natural, or Peppered. Jerky Salmon is also a favourite. High tide will take your Halibut, any type of Cod, Tuna and of course Salmon and cut it into steaks or two people portions for your dinner. They take it and vacuum pack it and flash freeze it to assure that your fish is always fresh for when you’d like to enjoy it.

Expectations exceeded! Our salmon was perfectly prepared and packaged, then shipped to my door in Toronto, frozen solid, and on time. .When we are lucky enough to visit our beautiful sister province British Columbia again, and fortunate enough to enjoy her magnificent wilderness fishing, it's great to know we can count on High Tide to send our catch home. I have used High Tide Seafoods twice to process my salmon after fishing with Coastal Wilderness Adventures. Both times the salmon traveled as checked baggage on our flight home. After over 13 hours of travel the salmon has arrived frozen solid both times. The owner, Sandy, has been accommodating and was able to meet our travel schedule, with a quick turnaround. I plan to continue to use High Tides Seafoods for my salmon processing needs in the future.

We have been dealing with High Tide Seafoods for many years now as they have prepared our multiple day catch from our guide, Mark and they have always provided excellent service, accommodating tight schedules. Sandy is one of the kindest business owners we have ever met. We are grateful to have their service available to us.

On a road trip around Vancouver island with a family of four we were camping for the night after going out fishing. We had four salmon that together were too large to store in our ice chest. The young woman at high tide working in the evening was extremely kind and helpful. Really appreciate her help. Wish I had gotten her name. I would definitely use them again.

BE CAREFUL WHEN SHIPPING YOUR FISH FROM HERE! TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!! I usually don't give bad reviews, but we just lost our salmon that was processed and shipped from High Tide Seafood and want to warn others of the problem that we experienced. We were never told from our fishing guide at Coastal Wildnerness Adventures, High Tide Seafoods, or the UPS store that there are NO Guarantees when shipping your fish. They charged us for processing and shipping, on top of the $2800 for the trip itself and because of the FDA our fish was pulled and not properly cared for, which completely ruined it. When it arrived it was immediately opened and the temps were 51 & 56 F degrees. They had held my fish back in their store until the end of our trip. When I called to have it shipped the girl had no idea of what she was doing and said that Sandra the owner would call me, I never heard back from her. I called again a few days later - left a message, NO response again. Then my husband called and they answered - they still didn't know what to tell us about the status and said that Sandra would call us back... you guessed it, NEVER heard from her. We did get a call from the UPS store that shipped it and they were the ones that told us that the FDA held it up in transit. The fish should of been shipped overnight on August 16th, we didn't get our fish until August 25th - it was held at UPS in California for 2 days. When I called and talked with High Tide about at the very least getting reimbursed for not shipping in time, nor communicating with me... again... Sandra will call you --- NOPE she does it again and blows us off. Don't ship your fish from these people - they don't care about you or your shipment. If you lose your fish due to FDA inspection - You will not be compensated for your loss and as a "tourist fisherman" you probably paid about $80 a pound. If we would of known about this, we would of processed and flash frozen it and cared for it ourselves and brought it home on the plane.

Loved everything about this place. Abby is such a friendly and fun person to hang out with. She will cook your crab (and crack it if you’d like) so you can take it home or eat it on the deck. We were the first people on the patio this season �. So worth the stop and we will definitely be back when we get back to this area.

Amazing fresh crab. Abby was so accommodating, she steamed the crab for us and even provided garlic butter! Best seafood I've ever had!

I had the pleasure of eating here last Saturday. There is something about sitting on a floating dock and having fresh cooked seafood from a seafood wholesaler that just got in a shipment of mussels, clams and crab from the very fisherman that call that same community home.

Great fresh seafood and lovely Staff. Always lots to choose from oysters, crabs, mussels, prawns and the price.
