A great little diner hidden off the beaten path of Campbell River. Food and service was great. Eggs Benny with your choice of hash browns is one of their signature breakfast options. I highly recommend stopping in, if your in the neighbourhood looking for a place to have a hearty breakfast.
We were visiting Campbell River today and this cafe was recommended to us by a salesperson at a car dealership we were at. It was a little hidden on the roadside, and we were kind of skeptical, but we stopped for lunch. Are we ever glad we did. We walked in and it was like walking back in time, barber shop style floors, and little stools around a common counter. The staff were amazing, so attentive and friendly. And the food...wow! It was probably the best Reuben sandwich I have ever eaten. We will definitely be visiting again the next time we are in town.
Delicious! I had the vegan skillet with vegan apple sausage, it was massive. He had the Beauty Benny, classic. Servers were friendly and fast. The place was packed (Sunday). They also have more vegan options such as vegan pancakes! Would recommend if you like a classic diner and generous portions.
First time going to the Ideal Cafe .... building looks dated, but who cares, the food and the staff were amazing. Eggs Benedict.... wow .... awesome, wife had special pineapple and ham, I had the beast Benedict .... both were fantastic. The bacon with the "beast" was cooked perfectly- crispy and chewy. Prices were a bit higher that other places, but the portion sizes were bigger ... and well worth the extra cost. I can hardly wait to go back on my next Campbell River trip.
Came here with my friends and everything was so good! Im from Vancouver and this was one of the best vegan breakfasts I’ve EVER had. This place is great and the staff were all super lovely, I will be back every time I visit Campbell River! Thanks so much!
I love a place that does shredded hash. It's so much better! The only thing better than that is STUFFED hash, which they also do.
This place is busy, and for good reason. Breakfast was delicious, the servers are swift and friendly, and the vibe is old-school diner cool. Try one of their milkshakes--I got mine spiked with Carolan's. Delicious.
My lunch date was awesome, great food... Best beef dip ever we added mushrooms to it tho, the clubhouse was good too (shared half of each so we could both try each sandwich) and the customer service was awesome! Very much appreciate that they do not discriminate anyone no matter your race, health issues etc.
Will definitely go back!!!!! Loved the old style bar stool counter which is where we sat.
Took my girlfriend here for her birthday breakfast on Monday and it was amazing! Doesn't look like much from the outside but we decided to give it a try and would definitely go back! I had the Eggs Benny and it was delicious!!! All the food was!! And the service was amazing too!
I was delighted to find this restaurant Which serves wonderful food and treats people equally! Being of mixed ethnicity more than once in my life I have delt with racism, And double standards I was happy to not find any of that here even, Even though the government has recently deemed me a second-class citizen.
The food was spectacular but being treated like a real human was absolutely priceless!
Stopped in for some lunch and really enjoyed the amazing food and service!! There was 5 of us and all of our food arrived together quite quickly and was very hot! Super tasty! Our server was quick to refill our coffee, couldn't have asked for better service. Highly recommend!
