The salt and pepper chicken is by far the best in the city. My husband who doesn't care for chicken orders it every time we go there. I give it 5 out of 5 star
1st Visit. We drive by this place every day and decided to finally stop in and get some dinner. The food was amazing and the price was right. Will for sure go back!!
Great priced food! Great rice and chicken! New digital display looks great!!!!
Not bad for a price.chicken balls got veeery little chicken.spring rolls too greasy and egg roll had no meat in it at all:/
However everything was fresh and was delivered fast and hot.
Dim sum was good. I didnt mind the food for dim sum here, it tasted pretty good however the dinner dishes just wasnt that great
Not too bad.. I've eaten here twice now and so far I've had no complaints with any of the dishes we ordered. All the standards (Ginger beef, sweet and sour whatever, fried rice, beef vegetable almond) were reasonably done and served hot. I thought the eggrolls were better than average - big, home made and tasty. Prices were standard.
When I'm in the area, and in the mood for Chinese, this is likely to be my go-to place.
Lady on phone was awesome! Food was just as good a+++++ for sure.
Far East Foods Lunch#3. A co-worker of mine goes here once a week. Finally after smelling it after a few months I decided to try it for lunch. For under $10 I got a whole lot-ta food. BIG wonton soup (and that was a small!), more rice then I could eat, veggies we still crunchy, chicken was still tender on the inside and crunchy on the outside, and not OVERLY smothered in sauce. Also it wasn't too salty or overly greasy either!
Will Def go back again.
Great spot, good prices and serving sizes
Far East Foods. New owners/management took over last year after some lengthy renovations. Some things are better, some things are not.
The old style Far East egg roll was stuffed full and had chicken in it. Lots of people liked it but the new owner expressed to me the quality of that egg roll and the chicken in it wasn't good enough. They now do a veggie egg roll which is quite good to me, but needs more deep frying to crisp the wrapper enough.
The veggie spring rolls are the best I have had in Calgary. The wrapper is perfectly thin, layered, crispy, and the filling with lots of sprouts, carrots, etc, dipped in Wing's plum sauce heated up is so good!
The plain fried rice they used to make was well done, slightly greasy in the way I expect fried rice to be. Now I almost have to beg and threaten them to fry my rice. This is one dish I don't want to be overly healthy with. I want soy sauce, and flavor, and fried texture.
The fortune cookies suck, they need to get Wing's fortune cookies which are more almond flavored, and have a better texture.
Others I have eaten with say the sweet and sour pork is quite good. As well as the Lemon Chicken. And the sweet and sour spare ribs.
I would stop by Far East just for the spring rolls alone, they are so good, just eat them right away so they don't have time to get soggy because the crispy texture is so nice.
