Chachi’s is a small sandwich place located in the shopping mall food courts in Canada. It serves craft gourmet sandwiches with local ingredients. There are many locations in Calgary, AB and Vancouver, BC areas. My boyfriend and I went to the mall on Sunday and We stopped by Chachi’s to have our lunch. It was our first time having food at Chachi’s. The same as other restaurants in the food court, we ordered the sandwiches at the front desk of the shop and then waited for our food at the court. We had ordered $10 Pork w/ Mac, which made by tender pulled pork, sweet chili bbq sauce, topped with mac’n cheese. and their weekly special sandwich. Our sandwiches were delicious and tasty. We were very happy to try healthy sandwiches. We had a great time eating our sandwichs from Chachi’s.
Nice large sandwiches that have great flavor. Staff is friendly and the pickles are delish!
The difference between Like It and Love It. August '11 update: Exhibit B
Again... like it vs love it: take a corned beef & swiss sandwich you advertise as having melty cheese, and then hand it to your customer less-than-lukewarm with cheese that doesn't even have ambitions of being melty. That's "like it". Now take 1 minute to stuff it through a toaster (even Quizno's has these) or panini press, SOMETHING, and hand it nice, hot and melty to your customer. That's "LOVE IT". 'Nuff said.
*********
I went to the location in Fifth Avenue Place (+15), so I hope I picked the right one, but it should be irrelevant if one focusses on the menu (vs staff).
I got prompt and courteous service, though they seemed to be learning the sandwiches still (they needed the daily feature panel to provide the ingredients for my sandwich). For ~$9-10 (tax incl') I got a foot long sub with capicollo, corned beef or pastrami (I forget), swiss, shredded lettuce, tomato, a pesto mayo and a red pepper sauce or spread (all on whole wheat). It was good, fresh, unsquished, and relatively tasty, though I admit the warnings about the capicollo being hot were hardly warranted. I wonder if they just swapped the hot stuff for the mild stuff despite my nodding in agreement to hot capicollo (with my Casper-white complexion...).
Now I said I like it, not love it. It's a good sandwich, perhaps a bit overpriced for being a deli sub (a buck or two off would change my mind), and I've had more exciting sandwiches elsewhere (sometimes even at home). Still, I wouldn't mind if I had to eat there; I'd just try other offerings to see how interesting the other items on the menu are.
