I’ve been here twice for their lunch specials that include your own pot, rice, and a drink; jasmine green tea or red tea. You can choose the sweetness of your tea and whether you like it hot or cold. I always choose sweet iced green tea and it tastes amazing! I’ve only ordered the lamb hot and sour soup and the flavours are spot on! I highly recommend it. Service was great both visits; friendly & quick. There is a small table with 3 different sauces at the back to choose as dipping, but due to the flavour of my broth, I never needed them.
The food is delicious and there are many types of beverages to get. The restaurant is sort of small inside and there is music playing in the background. The service was a bit slow, but the staff were friendly. There is shaved ice and dessert toast for dessert. The restaurant has different types of hotpot and sells noodles as well.
Originally one of the only late night bbt or snack spots. Similar fashion to Bubblemania with a better location, but some major differences.
They tend to either run out of not have things often. And not because they are so busy I believe. I think it's because they are lazy and understaffed? That's just speculating though.
The last time I came here they had 1/5 things that I ordered :(
They have some major competition with 3QT across the street.
The drinks here are AMAZING. Best bubbletea in town! They're a little pricey and don't come with any free toppings but they are delicious. The hotpot is pretty good and is supposed to be for one, but can probably fill 2 people if you order drinks as well. Service isn't always the best. I usually get take out bubbletea because they have a stamp card only dor take-out. I sometimes get annoyed because they won't have pearls ready until 1pm even though they open at 11am. Also, I dined in once with some friends and we got 4 drinks and 2 hotpots and 2 of us ordered pearls but the lady said it would take 30mins so we said ok so by the time we got our drinks she put it in the takeout cups because we were almost done our meals but she still refused to give us the stamps for our drinks even though we were practically leaving with it. Other than the service though, their food and drinks are good.
My husband and I enjoy coming here on our casual date nights. He always order the same things, the kimchi lamb hot pot, and earl grey milk tea. I like the same hot pot but I'm always trying different bbt flavours. I had the Hokkaido Milk Smoothie today and though it was still good, it did not have a lot of taste. I think I was expecting the Hokkaido milk I had in Japan, which obviously won't compare. Hot Point serves other food too, but we've only had the hot pot. They are individual sized so you don't get to pick your toppings but everything is already in the bowl when brought to your table, and served with a bowl of rice. There is also a small sauce station where you can choose from garlic soy sauce, red bean sauce and house special spicy sauce. They can get busy but they are always friendly. Their bubbleteas are also very good.
Friends invited us to come out to this place, never been to this place before I thought it was spacious with lots of tables and couch type seating. I like how you can order individual hot pots for $11.99, my husband got the spicy beef on and there was a generous amount in the broth and then broth was quite nice. You customize your drinks with the additions you like: pearls, jelly etc and the amount of sweetness. The shaved ice was pretty big enough for a bunch of people to share. I got the taiwanese salt crisp chicken which I picked 2 sauces to dip. There is a table in the back with 3 different sauces: garlic soy, black bean and spicy sauce that you can help yourself. 6 or more ppl they automatically add 15% tip.
Tried a variety of their soups and they were delicious. Tom yum was my favorite. The flame under the pot takes awhile to burn out which results the soup being extremely hot and hard to eat and enjoy. The broth was also splattering all over the table. Only had a choice of 3 sauces and the containers (self serve) they were in did not look very clean. Service was good. Tried the mango bubble tea and it was fresh and tasty...unlike other places, mango can be tough to make.
The original milk tea here is really good. If you come during their lunch hour (before 2:30pm), you get a good deal with each Mini Hot Soup that comes with free rice and a free drink. I love the milk hot soup.
I've been here a couple times and it's not bad. Definitely the restaurant is very casual than others. The soup is a little bland but overall it's not bad.
The food and the drinks especially are good, but the service is lackluster. If you don't mind your server disappearing during your meal, you'll be fine here.
I went to dinner with an old co-worker/friend to catch up. Since it was a cool winter night, we decided to warm up with hot pot and we were also craving cold bubble tea. We heard of the place that serves on Macleod Trail. After some googling, we found that this place was in the same strip/building as Seoul Korean BBQ.
Awesome hotpot here! You get your own hotpot. Its not like the traditional hotpot where you add your raw ingredients and you watch until it cooks. When it comes to your table, everything in the pot is cooked and ready to eat. The lamb or tom yum is my fav. The bubbletea is huge when you order it to stay. I have never had it to go, but I think it is just the standard size when it is to go. The price is very good even for dinner. It is around ~$11.00 per hotpot. All include a bowl of rice as well. Service is decent but not very good. They won't ask how the hotpot is or anything until you wave them down.
Spacious inside and plenty of parking available.
Great bubble tea 1 of my top 3 in the city and I do enjoy the personal hot pot. I think they really took to long ironing things out when they started up and don't seem to be popular at all.
Visited this hot point joint for the first time with my mom and grandparents for the lunch time special. We ordered 4 individual hot pots which came with rice and free red or jasmine green tea (hot or cold). The tea portion was generous and they do add some kind of sweetener (I liked it, but I think the older folks would have preferred a non-sweetened option).
We ordered the tofu seafood, milk, kimchi, and sour and hot lamb hot soup. The hot pots came in individual bowls with their own burners to keep them hot while you eat. The menu that is currently uploaded on Zomato is outdated as the new price is $11.99 for the 'Mini Hot Soup' lunch special.
The 'milk hot soup' was very delicious. It's reminiscent of cream of mushroom soup, but more brothy and savoury. I would say the least favourite of the four was the 'sour and hot lamb hot soup' which had a VERY pungent lamb-y smell and taste. I think it could have been the cut of the meat, or the way they prepared it but it was very pungent smelling and I would definitely recommend staying away from it. The rest of the soups were tasty and each hot pot had a decent amount of ingredients to fill you up. We were all perfectly full after the meal and for $12 per person, it is certainly a nice deal.
Overall, we had a good experience and would definitely come back to try their other offerings. I would love to try their shaved ice next time as there are not many placed that do shaved ice in Calgary. Their bubble tea and drink menu is also quite extensive.
To cap off a day of eating, we decided to check out Hot Point Fusion Cafe. My friend has been there multiple times – it seems like a pretty chill place to go to after shopping/movie/dinner or for some late night eats. The place is huge and there are a ton of booths to sit at, aka. perfect for a group hangout. The menu is absolutely massive with every type of drink you can think of. Too many choices!
This is my first time been there , the hot pot was good, the price are acceptable. And I just a little disapponited with my hot milk tea. It isn't like HongKong style, but the taste was not bad.
Mini hotpots are decent, offering individual choices for your party of friends, but I recommend taking someone who knows this place with you. It is recommended that you order everything up front, as staff will often not be back after delivering your food. If you just want a nice place to chill and chat with your friends over food and bubble tea without being interrupted by service staff, then this place is for you. They do have one of the better bubble teas in Calgary without having to go to Chinatown.
The idea of hot pot and bubble tea together is absolutely SPLENDID.
The hot pot is nothing special. Mainly loaded with cabbage and the same soup as every other pot. The milk tea here is DELISH tho! I highly recommend the Specialty milk tea!
The fruit smoothies here are also REAL FRUIT!! And lots of it!!! Most places just use syrup, but for the extra cost, these guys use the real thing.
We ordered takeout. We had two fresh fruit smoothies: mango and papaya/mango. We also had the kimchi soup. The soup tasted great and the smoothies were tasty as well, blended thoroughly, with nicely sweet tapioca pearls.
The staff was polite and friendly. I would recommend this place!
I COULD EAT AN ELEPHANT
+4.5
This place is heaven. The bubbletea is great, hot pot is cheap and amazing, annnnd there's free wifi. I love that they're open almost always! Service is a little weird but you get your food and that's all that matters!
I've only been here for the $10 hot pot. For the price it's seriously SO GOOD. I'd highly recommend the Tom Yum or Miso Hot Pot. Addicted. And for $10 seriously?! How could it be bad? Anyways like I said I haven't tried anything else here so can't comment otherwise. I would definitely come back though =)
Yummy and great service!!. Went here with a couple of drinks for a quick snack. We ordered the 2 hot pot and also 2 bubble tea's. I have to say that everything tasted good and they had a
special green tea drink that was really good as well.
I would recommend everyone try this place once!!
Great. Food was really good, prices were awesome, portion sizes were super big, and service was great! The building was really cold though.
Three of us had hot pots for lunch: hot tomato beef, tom yum, miso. Generous amount of soup and veggies tofu etc. ordered some extra meat and seafood because we were hungry. Food was tasty, enjoyed the bubble tea. Room was a bit cold, service was good. Would go back for the hot pot experience.
I loved it!. I ordered a milk tea and my boyfriend ordered a strawberry milk slush, and we both loved the milk tea! We also ordered a strawberry honey thick toast and a mini hot soup. We didn't have to wait long and they waited until we finished the soup to give us the thick toast. It was all very good, the atmosphere is nice, the interior is nice, it's just wonderful! We loved it! I will definitely come back again!
One of my fav for hot pot. I like the fact that we get our own hot pot. it was very tasty.
the drinks are a little over priced. i would rather get another hot pot.
Good drinks, OK hotpot. I went with a friend on an early weekday afternoon - the inside is nicely decorated, clean and organized. There were only 2 other tables occupied beside us, which is probably why the service was a lot faster for us than the other reviewers. Each of us got the hot pot special - $8.99 with a free drink. The waitress who took our order was really nice and apologized when she told us that the free drink only includes jasmine tea or red tea and other drinks we ordered would be $1-$3 extra depending on what we picked - and both of us were ok with this. The drinks came within 10 minutes, the guy who was making the drink for my friend mistaking made hers cold when she asked for hot, and when we told him he immediately made her a new drink. The food came shortly after and it was pretty good. There was not a lot of meat in it but for 9 bucks you can't really expect much, there was a lot of vegetables and vermicelli in it, and it came with rice. For an average girl the amount of food I received with the drink was enough for me...Their drinks were very delicious!
Everyone's experience will be different, but personally I enjoyed my trip here :)
Great! I love the idea of personal hot pot and bubble tea fusion ( at a fair price too!) the broth choices are tasty and we had very good service :)
Hot Pots and Bubble Tea. Specializing in hot pots and bubble tea drinks makes this new little cafe on Macleod Tr., pretty unique. It's a nice place to hang out and enjoy some simple, but interesting foods.
The hot pots are pretty different with a lot of varieties to choose from. The beef hot soup had a good kick to it, but the curry fishball hotsoup had an amazing flavour - I'm not usually a curry fan, but this curry was pretty delicious and went well with the fishball, pork and veggie fillings. Both soups were pretty packed with ingredients, but don't let that stop you from ordering more ingredients to add to the scalding hot broth.
While the hot pots are good, the variety of fresh fruit bubble teas automatically makes this place the best spot for bubble tea south of Chinatown. They have a very wide selection of drinks to choose from, with some delicious flavour combinations to try.
The rest of the menu features a variety of Asian snacks. One of the interesting dishes was the shaved ice. For something that includes a bunch of sweets on top of ice, it`s pretty delicious. Mixing in the condensed milk in something like Summer Affections, really makes every bite rich.
While Hot Point is a new restaurant, they need to figure out their processes. I'll admit the service can be excruciatingly slow at times, but if you're there to enjoy the company of friends, it's a nice place to chill out while waiting for some delicious snacks.
It's not bad. The milk hot pot was not very good but I enjoyed the veggie hotpot. The egg puffs are delicious, all their drinks are fresh fruit and they have a lot of variety. I just wish drinks didn't take so long
New stuff in town. Tasty food and drinks, cheap price, I liked it a lot. Definitely a good place to go during summer holidays. The server were friendly, and seems they are all students. Nice atmosphere, modern and contemporary, Calgary needs to have more of this kinda place for younger people to go.
PS: they have this thick fruit toast with ice cream on top that was my favorite. Should have take a pic for you guys it looks beautiful as well. (found an image on google, it's not theirs but pretty similar to it.
Delicious. I was there during Wednesday evening with my friends and ordered a variety of hot pot soup, the food is decent in price and delicious. I highly recommend the beef hot pot and lamb hot pot. They might be a bit spicy, but its just right for me as I can't eat spicy food. I also recommend their signature milk tea, but if you like something fresh, my friend ordered a avocado mango mik tea and I tried it, it's great!
So overall, I like the overall cute Asian hangout feel, not very good Bubbletea though, it’s unique in a sense and I like it, I would go back for some yummy Spicy Beef Hot Pot. And oh yes, it's super affordable!!
