Ok so didn't want to go after reading some of the reviews. A friend had assured me that a new group had taken over and it was awesome. Now when I walked in the place looked a little dated, but I was willing to give it a try and boy was I not disappointed!
Met the owners and they had taken over about 6-7 months ago, and now the place was packed on a weekend (which I took as a good sign).
Ordered a pizza, some cans of pop and sheesha. Sheesha is top 5 in the city and priced really well at $13-14 (can't remember now). The pizza was really cheesy and loaded with toppings which for the price made me feel like it was a great deal (i think the pizza was $15 maybe???). My bill for 2 pops, a medium pizza, and a sheesha pipe came out to $33 !!!!!!! I was so shocked that I actually talked to the owners and told them that I would be back because of the quality you get for the price.
The owners laughed at me and told me next time to try their all you can eat buffet for $14. The buffet had a bunch of curries like butter chicken, a beef curry, tandoori chicken and my favorite ground beef kebabs. In fact, the owners were so sure I would love it that they brought me a sample from the buffet and I was thoroughly shocked that the Indian food was that good and all for $14.
Anyways, this experience has made me want to try other poorly reviewed places that were taken over by new management.
I will definitely be back :-)
Great value buffet!. I went for the lunch buffet and was very pleasantly surprised to find very flavourful food and at only $12.99, one of the best values in the city. The Chicken Biryani was particularly delicious. I kept going back for more. Tons of flavour. The goat curry was a must. The butter chicken was quite good. The naan was fresh and excellent. The tandoori chicken, however, was pretty bland and the tossed salad was just white lettuce and tomatoes and the veggie pakoras were not great. But the Biryani alone made it worth it. Lots of flavour in the rice (cinnamon, cardamon, etc.) and the chicken was fall off the bone tender. The items they do well have much more flavour than most Indian buffets in town which tend to be bland and dumbed down spice wise. I definitely recommend this little hole in the wall for lunch!
Excellent Buffet. Excellent tasting food and excellent value. For $12, you cant beat this. Service is decent. Ambiance isnt great but its good enough to hang out with friends, eat great indian food and watch sports on one of the many big screen TV's
