One of the best "North Americanized" chinese food places in Calgary. Take out only. Honey pepper chicken is awesome, as is the curry chicken fried rice. Large portions are great. Been here many times and have been consistently impressed with these dishes! Noodle dishes have also been consistently good.
Certainly my favourite Chinese take out place in the area. Well priced, very tasty, free delivery. Dinner for one includes soup and a spring roll, lots of choices. My go to when I'm craving!
Pretty decent inexpensive noodle and Chinese take out place. Never tried the "American" Chinese dishes, so I can't assess, but I did grab some typical Chinese mainstays (Cantonese chow mein, beef fried ho-fun noodle) and they were decent and quite generous.
It's a pretty sparse and unassuming shop that's takeout and delivery only. But as such, they can afford to charge lower as they don't have the overhead costs as well. They've been around for quite awhile, so in a town where restaurants can literally open and close within a year, that says a lot.
Prices went up!. Going to have to look for the next best cheap chinese food from now on.
Inexpensive but just okay. I have been on a noodle and dumpling kick lately so I have been getting a lot of Chinese takeout on the weekends. Compared to other Chinese places in the area, Little City is definitely less expensive and I love how if you pick up your food, they give you a free order of dumplings (or other things) if it is over $25. The portion sizes are good for the price you pay but the food is nothing special. I do enjoy the filling for their dumplings, I just wish the dough was a little thinner.
Best in the city!. I'll never order from any other Chinese take out restaurant again!
Don't be fooled by the look of the place, it's definitely a hole-in-the-wall, but so delicious.
The only negative point I could add would be that it's always better on busy nights. Week nights some if the items taste like they may have been made in a bigger batch and have been sitting, it's just fresher on weekends.
I love the ginger squid, and my fiance is addicted to the dumplings that you get free once your order is over a certain amount.
I've lived in Calgary my whole life, and Little City is the best Chinese take out I've ever had.
This place is great! I ordered delivery and it took them five minutes less than what they said for my food to get to me. The delivery driver was friendly, despite us having buzzer problems. The honey garlic spareribs were a little boney but still very tasty. I was surprised by the ginger beef at first as they pour the sauce in the container, and then put in the beef. I soon realized it was to keep the beef from getting soggy. It was delicious, a great flavour with a little spice but not too hot. We also ordered shrimp and mixed vegetables and it was very tasty as well, a great tasting sauce with a nice veggie mix that was made fresh. 3 dishes for pennies under $30. Overall, a great experience; friendly order taking on the phone, friendly delivery driver, great tasting food delivered hot and fast, all for a great value. Absolutely reccomended!
Jerry. This place has always good except for the last time. Almond Chicken was very heavily battererd and greasy, as were the prawns.
Ginger beef was so tough we threw it out. It almost seemed like a lot of the food was recooked. I was very dissapointed because in the past it has been our favourite.
Love the take-away here. I lived close to Little City for 9 years, and the take-away food here is awesome. Very gwai-loh Chinese (I'm a big white guy), but when you have a hankering for some S&S Pork, Ginger beef, or lemon chicken, it hits the spot.
