I've only ever visited Calgary a couple of times, and both times been to Eau Claire Market. Its easy walking distance from downtown and seems like it has big potential but is 'odd'. It makes me feel I've been transported somewhere post-apocalyptic, or to an alternative communist Canada from the 1970s. That said, I'm someone who's visited derelict theme parks, I enjoyed the unusual ambiance. Great place if you want to avoid crowds. There are some good food places, a cinema, and a great bicycle store.

You can reach Eau Claire Market & Park in downtown Calgary by crossing the bridge from Prince’s Island Park. Helen Pike of the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation wrote an article in 2018 entitled “Newly opened West Eau Claire Park offers promenade along Bow River.” The West Eau Calir Park took about one and a half years to build, and it links the Peace Bridge with the downtown area. You can see the Peace Bridge from this community Park. If you are lucky, you can see Canada Geese, ducks, and beavers at this Park. Also, public art may be viewed here. This was a 10.6 million dollar enterprise whose foundational purposes were to lessen flooding incidents and to have a place for Calgarians to meet, greet and more. This riverfront park on the Bow River’s south bank is a place to walk, jog, cycle, and observe the river. Thie area at the Park is mainly paved and could be an easy walk for most people.

Ahhh, poor old Eau Claire Market. Soon to be demolished to make way for the Green Line. I find this reality a little bitter sweet. I've been coming to the mall for over 20 years and I have a lot of fantastic memories there with friends and visiting all of the eclectic shops, the Cineplex Theatre, many eateries (lots of change there, but a few classics are still in the food court), practicing my running, drinking coffee, and these days donating my blood/plasma. Currently the mall is pretty empty, but it is clean and there is still a variety of small shops and food to be had. Check it out before it's gone forever!

Nice place. Stopped in at the marble slab. Kid working counter was sniffing and whipping nose with hand. He was so sick. No way I was getting ice cream from there. No one that sick should be allowed to work anywhere they have to touch food.

A mini community market place boasts of various amenities from food to clothing, groceries, healthcare, gym and off course a cinema. Whatelse could you ask for? Located in the heart of Calgary downtown and close to China town.

The fact they are tearing this down for the green line is a travesty, especially while public transportation is losing money/ under supported. Are we going to lose this land mark, for a train folks fought for, just so people won't use it? There had to have been a way to preserve this cultural institution, while also better helping improve our transit system for all Calgarians. I'm gunna miss the old girl

Due to 2 years of covid lock down the place has been lacking the hustle and bustle, but it still has space to grow again. It is an amazing spot for family to gather, and the food is really good. Love to see new business move.
