After living in Melbourne, Australia for almost nine years Mrs Canuck and I have almost become coffee snobs. Waves is the closest to a great coffee we can get here in Calgary. There may be other places but we haven't bothered to look elsewhere since finding Waves a few years back.
No visit to Calgary is complete until we get to Waves for a great latte and some boys bonus free WiFi.
The service was friendly at the coffee house and the environment was welcoming and non judgemental. The seats are comfortable and there is enough space to have a big group of friends to hang out at the coffee house. The Peach Melba Hot Chocolate was delicious and had enough of a hint of the peach flavour that the title of the hot chocolate says it has. The Peach Melba Hot Chocolate is a limited edition hot chocolate, as it is only available in February 2018 as part of the coffee houses' collaboration with "Meals on Wheels," where all or part of the proceeds of the hot chocolate bought, will be given to the organization "Meals on Wheels" to provide Calgarians in need of the service, an affordable and nutritious meal. The calzone I had there was delicious and made me want to buy another calzone to eat and enjoy once again. The staff were nice and patient. I would definitely go again to enjoy the food and beverages they have there,
If you want a place to meet up with friend for coffee in NE Calgary, Waves Coffee House Sunridge is the place for you! My almond milk latte was good, but coffee in independent shops are way better. Their “meals” are small and definitely not worth it. I think the biggest draw to Waves Coffee is the atmosphere. The cafe was quiet & comfortable, and a perfect place to do some work/study. It’s also a great place to meet up friends or have that coffee date (in NE Calgary). There’s also Wifi available and lots of outlets if you need it!
Waves always have good tasting coffee. This location is great if you have meetings or if you need to study as they have a meeting room available. Also there is a parking lot, but it is shared with a health building that only allows 2 hours max. stay. I'm not 100% sure if there is a time limit if you stay at waves. Anyways, The staff is very nice and friendly. I will remember the regular customers as well.
Was here recently with a friend. Got the African detox herbal tea & a latte. Both were good. Place was clean & well lit, service was good too as the manager let us stay till 8:30pm (7pm was the closing time)
Awesome!. I used to come here regularly for homework sessions and the drinks were always so good! The owner is super friendly and chats with all his customers. I still come here sometimes as I like to do my homework (such a good environment as it's more quiet than the other waves location but it closes earlier). I would definitely recommend this place over Tim Horton's which is nearby.
Well Done!. I ordered the dark chocolate mocha and it was delicious. The baristas were friendly and helpful. I watched them make my drink and realized that they use real chocolates to make the chocolate drinks. Yet I was curious so I asked about it and apparently they were Belgium Chocolate chips! How delicious!!! They also had a cute latte art.
