Great food, good prices, and most importantly they are consistent! I’ve tried a few different items and they’re all scrumptious. Best won ton soup I’ve ever had! Seriously good food.
Tiny little place, with a big heart.
This is a lovely little restaurant, and I have been ordering from there for years. I appears to me to be family run which I think is great. The staff are very friendly and customer focused!
My favorite is the Ginger Chicken, it is all white meat and never cooked to leather like most places. Any time I have requested any alterations to the ingredients (ie I'm not a baby corn fan), they will accommodate with pleasure.
I agree with the person from the last post, give them a try before you listen to all the negative comments.
I'm not 100% sure why there is so many bad reviews for this place, because we ordered from here tonight and it's honestly one of the better Chinese food places I've gotten food from in Calgary. The lady at he front desk was very friendly to me. When I got home we had no issues with our order and the food is actually quite good. Wontons in the wonton soup I'm usually very picky about and these ones were big, and filled with meat and very tasty. Our takeout container of noodles was literally packed so full I was afraid to open it! They are obviously good with no skimping on portion sizes. And the spring rolls were very obviously homemade and pretty good as well. I'll for sure be ordering from them again and I hope people don't right this small business off over some older, crappy reviews!
Yummy food!. I order from here whenever I get chinese takeout and have for the last 5 years. I really like their cantonese chow mein and love the fried rice! The chicken chow mein is good, sweet and sour chicken balls are ok (I don't really like chicken balls but my girls love them). Excellent pan fried dumplings but my favorite is their gingerbeef! Their ratings have went down a bit which I don't understand since I havn't had a bad meal there ever!
BEST LOCAL ORIENTAL FOOD. I always order the Salt and Pepper Seafood. Crispy and spicy. The Cantonese Chow Mein is the best tasting in Calgary. It is full of veggies, pork, chicken, shrimp with just the most perfect flavor combinations. No where compares to this dish. Have had it in most oriental establishments but rate this #1. Garlic chicken wings huge and juicy, another great flavor. Great Chicken fried rice and also their pan fried dumplings are to die for. We order at least 1 to 2 times per month and have never been disappointed. We seem to stick to these items only as they are the greatest. Must say we have not tried too many others except the Moo Shoo Pork which is awesome also, Next time you don't want to cook give them a try.
Great Food. Great food and very friendly staff. Went there for my birthday and when they didn't have the drink I was looking for they offered to go out and get a pack of the selected item! I will be coming back for sure!
Came here for dinner Friday evening. The decor is minimal but the food and service were pretty good. Everything was freshly made and perfectly to our taste. Would come again!
I love Oakridge Phoenix.. This has quickly become one of my favourite comfort food restaurants, simply because they offer great gluten free Chinese food. While the people on the phone often struggle with what you mean by "gluten free", and I always worry they didn't understand, I've never had a reaction from any of the food. I avoid anything deep-fried, but have lots of other options to choose from. My favourite is their sizzling rice and their singapore rice noodles. So good!!
