OMG! I am afraid to share this because I want the place to myself! Tonight we explored Seasons and were not disappointed. Walking in, the first thing you notice is the intimacy of the place. It is small, private and very relaxing. No pretentious attitude here! Felt comfortable the moment we sat down.
The service was attentive but not intrusive, there is no pressure here only a passion to share the experience. Joanna was amazing as a server. Alex, the owner stopped by numerous times to check in and chat. This place feels like home. I will be coming back.
The food was AMAZING! Fresh ingredients and very accommodating for dietary needs. The cheese plate is perfect and the beet salad was outstanding.
Wines are fantastic and well paired with food. A taster sampling gave us some great flavours to try.
Let's not forget this sits on the Bowness Park lagoon. Add that to the ambience of inside and you have a perfect location for a casual, relaxed, fine dining. Spread the wood - this place is outstanding.
Had my retirement supper (20 of us) there. Did the chefs menu. Appetizers were brought out while we were mixing and mingling. There was a charcuterie tray of meats, cheeses, pate; tomatoes with soft mozzarella, deep fried fish, fried chicken, my favorite octopus with chorizo sausage, plus more. Guests had pre-selected mains from ribeye steak, cornish game hen, halibut and vegetarian pasta. Desserts were great also. All my guests raved about the food, location and service. Thank you to Seasons for making the occasion so very special. Its truly a gem in the northwest.
Had a very pleasant experience here. The staff was pleasant and the food was delicious. They had just changed the chef and menu. I had the ceasar for drinks and it as good as any. The meatballs for appies was good. The fish pot for main was perfect, the broth was really good if you asked for bread to dip in it. The crème brûlée was fantastic! I would go back.
I feel inclined to write a review even though we only came here for drinks after a beautiful afternoon of skating. The reviews I’ve read about the service were horrible so I was hesitant to even walk in, but they must have changed the staff recently because all of the ladies working were extremely welcoming and friendly! We sat on their patio (because where else has a winter patio in Calgary) that overlooks the ice and it fully equipped with heat lamps and blankets. It was gorgeous and so much fun to watch the skaters! The menu was quite pricey and didn’t have a ton of selections but the atmosphere and experience is well worth it. The interior was very very nicely decorated but I don’t think u can go wrong with the view outside 😊 I’d go back for sure and give the food a shot!
The carrots were a dark orange, flavourful and still had that farm fresh crispness to it. The sauce was amazing – my brother-in-law Dave thought he could detect white wine. I would recommend that you ask for a spoon, so you get every drop of the sauce. The puff pastry was soft and pillowy.
Location, location, location. First of all I think you could serve nothing special out of this location and still attract crowds. The view is amazing. But, the food is also pretty good! We went for brunch and their selection of dishes and presentation is very well thought out and very tasty. My only thought is to go early on hot days as the sun exposure is high and only a few tables have shade. Hopefully they will.come up with a solution for this to make a few more table comfortable on a hot day!
When rain threatened our group bbq/picnic over the weekend we moved things indoors to Seasons. What a lovely job that has been done on the ambiance and the from scratch locally inspired menu. In the mood for cookout food I tried the burger and it was among one of the most juiciest I have put my lips on in some time. Chuck ground in-house and loaded with fresh groceries, exactly what I was looking for in a burger. Other fare ranging from Salads to Bennies looked and sounded superb. Will definitely be back to explore the menu and sip some wine by the lagoon. Seasons is still working through some service kinks, but food and atmosphere more than make up for any unevenness in service staff that will round together in time. I'm so pleased with this addition to the neighbourhood. 4 j-strokes on the lagoon out of 5.
Had dinner on the patio with a view of the lagoon and park - excellent food with a wine list and service to match. Will definitely be back.
