Took a couple of friends here following a movie in the area….Modest restaurant, but a step up from other comparable Vietnamese restaurants in the city with booth seating throughout. I love trying sate soups! I strayed from my usual beef sate pho and opted for #16 Seafood Sate, that included imitation crab, shrimp, and squid….The broth was rich, portions large, and I am now a fan of their sate!
2018 Update: they're back baby!! Their curry soup is exactly the same!! Still the best in Calgary.
Their sate paste is different. It was better before the fire.
The renovations look good. It's bright and fully lit. Not a dim romantic place.
So happy they are open again!!!!
October 2016: I think this place is closed due to a fire. I can't wait until they reopen.
My review based on dozens of visits over the last couple of years:
Food: It's a little pricey for Viet but they do Curry Vermicelli soup like no other so it's worth the extra couple of dollars to me (#20, #21 are my picks). Their sate sauce is also incredible and I usually get a side of it with whatever I order. Their grilled shrimp on skewers are amazing (part of #8 and some of the vermicelli dishes). The rest of the menu is not bad but the dishes I mentioned are the reasons I make the drive there.
Service: Friendly service.
Ambiance: Nicer than many other Viet places.
Serving were huge. I had the spicy seafood sate with double beef balls and it was a thing of beauty. Amazing place. The curry soups are a must. Seafood curry with beef balls will change your life. I'm a fan of peanut broth not the red broth so much so take that into consideration. But if you like sate and peanut broth this place will be your favorite

Bad Service, Good Soup. It's a toughie - the service isn't good, or even friendly. The curry seafood soup, however, is delicious. And it is served VERY fast.
Sooo, I put up with the service for the soup...it's SO GOOD! :)
I am addicted to the chicken tomato satay soup - consistently good often excellent. We go here often for lunch as one of my friends is allergic to MSG and this is one of the few Vietnamese restaurants where he can eat. The beef stew is another favourite although sometimes the meat can be too fatty. Lots of other good choices.
Great Food/Fast Service. I Arrived with a huge group of friends for supper. Great service, The appetizers that were ordered were a bit disappointing and were pretty standard..., however there were no complaints from anyone about the main orders served. I'd go back again.
Expensive!. I'm a fan of pho...I make it myself at home, yet I didn't order pho. I had a rice vermicelli. It was overall good, but expensive compared to all the pho restaurants I've tried. The spring rolls are amazing, they're small and not much meat in them yet taste great. If they lower their price I will return.
Not too bad in a pinch if its the only Vietnamese food that's close by but definitely no where near other better places I have tried. Bubble teas on the other hand are disgusting.
Best Vietnamese in Calgary by far,. Only one In Calgary that doesn't use MSG in their food. Delicious sate beef on vermicelli and beef soup is yummy! Everything actually is awesome! Lots of meat on dishes! Yummmmmmy!! And no upset tummy after like other places! Friendly staff, very fast service! Delivery after 5pm too!
I've dined in a few times and have gotten takeout s number of times. I find it pretty good. They are prompt, service is good for both takeout and fine in. I do find the chicken in their soups and noodle dishes a little dry. They must have it premade making me think it drys out the meat a bit. Saying that I think it's ok. Good value.
