Such a great little place! The food is delicious. It's a bit out of the way but worth the trip. It gets busy so get there as early as you can on your lunch hour.
Don’t you hate when you mess up dinner plans? Oh, is that just me? Well, my bad. O and I had plans but our meet up time was off. That meant we were rushed and needed somewhere close to eat on the SE side of town. Lucky for us, her husband recommended Sunshine Vietnamese. This is only the third time I’ve had Vietnamese while I’ve been in town so I wasn’t sure what to expect.
I live in the southeast and this is my go to restaurant for pho. I may even argue that it's the best in Calgary. Broth is consistently rich and delicious. They always give over generous portions of meat and always fresh ingredients. I have never sat down in the restaurant to eat but staff is always friendly and never lets you wait long before being serviced during pick up. Highly recommend this place to everyone.
Doesn't get any better than this. I've tried many other reputable places in town and while they've been good, Sunshine is by far the best. I've since moved downtown and still make the 30 min drive for a bowl of their pho. Number 21 satay is like crack!! Deep rich broth and incredibly flavourful noodles is what sets this place apart.
To the people on here saying that they are rude, who cares, it's that good it doesn't even matter. You're there to eat not to make friends. It's to the point, you order and enjoy.
I love this place . By far the best veitnameise food I've had in calgary , number 43 ftw and If your feeling coragous go for the beef satay noodle soup (personal fav)
Really great pho. Sarah soups are excellent, Verm is also super good. Would recommend. Get the spring rolls! Dumplings are good here as well!
Loved this place! Hubby loves satay beef noodle soup (#29) and they have the best one, hands down, in the city! You can smell the spice and feel your sinuses clearing! It's that good!
Also love their spring rolls on vermicelli (#39a)! Same as anywhere really but so delish!! Huge servings and fair prices! Sit in has amazingly fast service and the staff are very personable and make an effort to get to know their clientele! Restaurant very clean and tidy but not very classy or modern if it's a special date night, more traditional decor.
One of my favorite Satay Beef Soups in the city. The service is rushed but friendly and the atmosphere is pretty plain but clean. If you like the peanut flavor in the Satay Soup this is the place to go. There was a ton of beef in the soup and the flavors were spot on. No need to add extra Hoisin sauce or Hot Sauce!
I order from here at least once a week. I always get the chicken noodle soup. It is extremely good Chicken Soup! The meat is always very fresh. Big portions of meat, noodles and broth. Have had too many soups to count. They are always good quality. The service has always been friendly and they haven't messed up my order once. The food is always consistently above average. I either pick up or order online and have it delivered. The fried wings are also very good!

Wow. Best Vietnamese I've ever had. Grew up in Edmonton and Pagolac was the best but I have to give it up for Sunshine Vietnamese.
I wasn't sure how busy they were on a Saturday night so I made a reso. Turned up at six with my party and they weren't super busy so I didn't mention my reservation. We got seated immediately and looked at the menu and decided on options. The server/host came by and rushedly took our orders. He then came back and asked if I had made a reservation for six. I said, "Yes" and he motioned toward the back where a table had been set up: a table with menus on it. After that, he demonstrated the worst service I've ever received. Luckily, his counterpart took over and was very nice and genuine.
The food was fantastic; I've never had such a good Viet sub and the chicken sate pho was delicious. Prices are actually quite cheap so if you have a hankering for Vietnamese and are willing to drive to the south, head to Sunshine, but don't expect great service.

Very authentic Vietnamese restaurant. Great service. Satay is pretty spicy but that’s how I like it. If you can’t handle spice, make sure you’re wary, but it was perfect for me.
The food is always fresh and perfectly cooked. The satay is spicy and rich. Noodles never overdone. Friendly staff.
I recently had the pleasure of trying the satay beef Vietnamese sub from this hidden gem, and it blew me away! Without a doubt, it's the best satay beef sub I have ever tasted.
I had my salon next to this place for years. Whenever we did not feel like bringing lunch we would order from here. The best satay soups 🍲 ever.

Food is top shelf, restaurant is kinda small but if you are going out for the best Vietnamese food then you have to accept the dining area.
Only other place that compares that i have found is TNK Vietnamese up in Marlborough ish area. You know that the food is going to be BOMB when you sit down in either of these restaurants.
Saute beef tastes like something that would come out of CHOP or THE KEG but for $14.
I come by here often and im looking forward to my next soup.

By far, the beef Sate Noodle soup in the city! Worth the try! The owners are very nice too and service is excellent! My go to for Pho Beef Sate!
