The staff at Yakima are the best in the city. The food was perfectly done in everyway. Such a great environment to enjoy a meal with friends. Great place for a night out.
We had four meals total at this restaurant and were very impressed and pleaseed. The food was great and the service was equally as good. Anyone having a meal or drink involving smoke is giving everyone close a real treat as well as themselves but if smoke isn't your thing don't worry because great ventilation removes all traces soon after. The ambience us just as great as the food. As John Catucci says, "You gotta eat here!".
Airport restaurant locations get alot of traffic. As soon as I arrived in Calgary from vancity, I wanted a quick slab of local beef lol.
We noticed Yakima, so it doesn't hurt to try it out.
I got the steak salad and it was done nicely. The beef is very fresh and had lots of flavor. The atmosphere and service is very corporate like. All in all I would say it's a safe bet to eat here, but nothing out of this world and mind blowing.
After stumbling upon this restaurant by accident at the Calgary Airport, I have eaten here several times since. I can say that both the food has been consistently excellent and matched by great service. Though the menu is at first glance somewhat limited, there are several excellent options that suits every taste. My favourite so far is the skirt steak that is infused with smoke and is uniquely presented. The flavour is excellent and carries through nicely to the accompanying side dishes. I have also enjoyed the charucturie which is accompanied by a wonderful whole grain mustard that sets off the flavours of the meat and cheese nicely. Do not miss the fig and date sticky pudding for dessert!
The service provided has also been excellent even with a couple of long dinners that have stretched for a few hours. Both the servers and manager checked on us regularly and made sure we were well looked after. Though I'm not totally sold on the atmosphere of the restaurant - it can be somewhat busy and the open concept is less than cosy, the intimate service actually compensates for this.
The valet service is also a great bonus and makes the drive to the airport with it and convenient.
My first time being at the airport and not flying lol
Interesting menu, definitely has some unique dishes.
Food was great, big portions.
Prices above average, but it's a great option if you are at the airport and want some good food.
My favorite was arugula salad.
Service was good and our waiter was friendly and attentive. The cocktails were really good. I ordered a pizza and I’m usually easy to please but just was just not good at all. I ate it because there was no alternative in the airport at that time. The dough was similar to what you might find in a child’s lunchable - dry and tasteless. The fresh tomatoes and basil was a nice touch. 4 stars though because everything else was fine
Amazing experience. Viktor at the Bar was knowledgeable and excellent service
Brie app was great with the caramel used onions
Highly recommend the Bison ribeye, best steak I’ve had this year
The Smoked old fashioned is a must for the whiskey drinkers.
Also if you haven’t heard Alex Hughes on Thursday night- Amazing. Better come hear her before she’s selling out stadiums
It’s decent but you’re paying airport prices. Service is spotty. Dined here several times and sampled the following items: dry aged steak (overpriced, okay). Alberta bison ribeye: expensive, okay. Meat lovers Pizza: okay. Beef jerky + candied bacon: good choice. Brisket sliders: decent, expensive. Korean fried chicken: below average, avoid. Turkey Club: decent. Pulled pork sandwich: a little salty even with sauce on the side. Tuna poke: not a good deal, avoid.
We decided to check out this spot during our layover in Calgary and I must say, I was quite impressed. We ordered the steak sandwich with green salad, braised pulled pork and elk burger with fries, and the sticky toffee pudding with vanilla ice cream. Super tasty, generous portions and overall great quality food. Highly recommend giving this place a try!
Tad expensive, but it is in an airport. Steak was cooked exactly how I ordered and the side stirfried veggies were an excellent complement. The service was slower than I expected, but I also came for a late lunch (after 1).
We had a long delay for our flight and we were surprised to find this affordable restaurant in the airport. We had the baked Brie to start which was terrific! My wife had the mushroom VF flatbread was tasty and filling. She found the rosemary a little overpowering and would remove it next time. I had the pull pork and elk sandwich and it was delicious! The fries were hand cut and very good too. Recommend this restaurant if you want to eat something other than fast food haha. Located pre-security right beside the Marriott.
Outstanding hotel restaurant. Inventive cocktails and a menu that has something for everyone. Definitely worth a visit even if you aren't staying at the hotel.
