Considering they share a kitchen with a classic fine dining restaurant, how can you go wrong. Menu seems plain and old school but the food is on point. I like the steak and salmon, but it’s all good.
A great little forgotten restaurant on Bonaventure Drive sharing one of Calgary’s best kitchens. Great friendly service. We all ordered their rib steak sandwich. Each one was made to order. We’ll be back.
After driving by it for years, I finally visited Oscars for lunch today. Its a comfy little room where we enjoyed great service and food. We both chose the Rockfish Tacos from the menu and declared them tasty. A return visit is likely. Many thanks to team Oscar.
Awesome home cooked food. Delicious! Small, clean and great service. French onion soup was super and Oscar melt was very good. We will be back!
One of our favourite restaurants. It's a hidden gem with an eclectic range of choices. But the food and service has always been the best. The borscht is one of the best soups I've had!
Acceptable Food, outrageous Wine prices. Ordered the veal cutlets. They were acceptable, not outstanding. The pepper steak is steak cooked with peppers, not what you would expect. Sticker shock for the wine. It was 16.50 for a glass. That is outrageous, since it was not a specialty wine. Also outrageous was the apple pie and ice cream 10.50 for a very small piece. Could have bought the whole pie at the market.
Ive eaten here a few time. D.... I've eaten here a few time. Dry ribs are awesome. Liver is really good. Stir fry is good. Honestly have never had a bad meal here.
Tasty, hearty comfort food at a reasonable price!. It's unfortunate that Oscar's is tucked away so far in the south - because if it were anywhere nearer to downtown, this place would be such a hit! Don't expect fancy or exotic ingredients but menu staples like Shepherd's pie and cheesecake. I had the pepper steak (not to be confused with peppercorn steak) which turned out to be succulent chunks of steak in a savory stew of peppers and onions. Served with a generous portion of double baked potatoes and a slice of garlic bread, the meal was well worth the $18. My dinner companion ordered a bacon cheddar burger - but before I could ask him how it was, he had hoovered it down and was in the full throes of a meat coma. The cheesecake was delicious as pointed out by a fellow foursquare-r. Thumbs up, Oscar's! Keep up the good work!
My family and I love going to Oscar's! The food is always perfect! Some of out favourites are the steak sandwich, burgers, and the chicken ceaser salad. Unfortunately the service tends to be a hit or miss. Our most recent visit was on a Sunday, we had a lady named Arlene (which she wrote on our bill) and I hope to never have her again. She puts in the minimum effort as a waitress and that doesn't even include smiling. The other waitress that night seemed awesome, and very personable unlike Arlene. She had all of her tables in her section laughing! We will definitely be back again but I will hope for the other waitress this time!
Perfect!!!! Great burger!!! And the cheese toAst is to die for !!!! Really well priced burger meal 12 bucks wow!!
We always enjoy Oscar's! They have a great menu offering, and all their food is fresh and tasty! We've had French onion soup, beef dip au jus, steak sandwich, and pepper steak. All delicious!
This restaurant has always been exceptionally clean. The staff remember your name and provide pleasant service. Also, the prices are excellent for such great good.
I have gone here at least once a week for over 20 years and in all that time I have never had a negative experience here. My order has always been correct, my food prepared perfectly, and the staff friendly.

Great staff and very friendly, prices are reasonable, food is great. OSCAR'S shares the same kitchen and cooks as Welingtons who are famous for their steak. Also, while dinning at Oscar's you can ask for the Wellintons menu to order off of.
Bit of a 'higher end' place. Food was pretty good from what we had. Service was excellent and friendly. Prices are up there, so if you're looking for a cheaper meal, look elsewhere. But I feel like you get decent value here. Place has been around for ages, so they are certainly doing something right.
I can honestly say there was nothing wrong with anything at Oscars when I went the other night. I got the Steak Sandwich. Service was excellent, food was wonderful. This is the first time I'd been here and I'll definitely be coming back!

Oscar’s Restaurant is a quiet little restaurant featuring delicious menu items. I can honestly say we’ve never been disappointed with the food, the service or the overall experience. I highly recommend the stir fry with prawns, the brussel sprouts, the steak sandwich, the prime rib, the Caesar salad..... It’s all delicious.
So good found this gem of a restaurant in 1980, food and drinks are fantastic great prices and, the staff is very friendly and attentive. A must go. Pick up only or skip the dishes right now.. Chicken stir fry is my favorite
