Love the rustic interior and ambiance. Great place for a drink but quiet enough for a date. We started with a couple drinks with a french onion soup and mussels. The soup was amazing. They added the perfect amount of cheese, not so overwhelming that it over powers all the flavours. The broth was great and packed with carmelized onions! The mussels were quite fresh, at least for not living by the ocean! Cooked in a cider sauce with double smoked bacon, it made for a nice, light yet savoury starter! For my entree I got the lamb tagnine. Pistachios and lamb are a match made in heaven! Lightly sprinkled over the dish, it added great texture! The lamb was very tender and fell apart. My boyfriend got the chicken coq du vin on special. The sauce was amazing and the chicken was so juicy. For dessert, we got the dark chocolate mousse. A little to rich for my tastes but paired well with a cup of coffee. Overall, great food. Our server was kind but needed more knowledge on the food/menu.
Went for an impromptu dinner with friends and it turned into a wonderful dining experience. The portions of food were hearty and filling and the service was exceptionally great. My friend had a wonderful helping of mussels, the others had croquet madams (I have never seen such a large portion) and I had the tagine. we also shared the olives and fois gras. The bread was fantastic and baked in house. The servers also suggested a fantastic aperitif. Cocktails were great too.
Took my bestie here for bday lunch & I've been here for cappuccinos. 1) the service = excellent; they recalled me from a prior visit months ago ; attentive & friendly 2) we ordered oysters as appetizer = HEAVEN!!!! presentation & taste = to die for:) 3) meals: my best friend had the Croque Madame...@
