Wow! I’d heard about this place before but hadn’t tried it until today. John Gilchrist was pretty accurate about this being one of the best burgers in town! The patty is fresh, hand made, juicy, thick and cooked to perfection. The sauce was nice on it and great attention to detail for the garnishings. All for $13 with a big salad! Can’t wait until they start carrying beers!
We had them cater our wedding in 2015, and I have to echo the sentiment of the reviewer below. Could not have been happier. They went above and beyond what was expected. Food was great(as always), and the service was remarkable. Definitely a hidden gem. You owe it to yourself to try it out.

We hired Black Apron Cuisine to cater our wedding on April 1, 2017 and we could not have been happier!
After attending a few wedding shows and meeting with a number of caterers, we were starting to feel a little lost. With the others, all of our discussions started with "pick one item from column A and 2 items from column B". When we first met Juan Luis and Stephen we were at a loss for words. The conversation started with questions like "what do you like to eat?" "what are your favourite foods?" "what foods to you dislike?" They worked with us to create a menu and ran with it.
Not only were they great with our normal menu, they created delicious dishes for all of our guests with dietary restrictions (vegetarian, vegan, gluten free, lactose, etc) with multiple options for each. Our guests were blown away as usually it is down to one bland meal for anyone that is different.
On site on the day couldn't have gone smoother. Their staff looked after our entire wedding and were very professional and courteous. For a wedding of 140 it still felt like an intimate affair. Even a week later I am still hearing from our friends about the food (and the balsamic emulsion salad dressing) :)
My wife and I cannot speak highly enough about Black Apron and we would recommend them to anyone for anything. We are even now looking at them for some catering for work functions.
If you are ever looking for someone to cater any event or function, these are the people to call!

We hired Black Apron to cater and bartend a 80 person event in a house for a birthday. We found them via a google search, had never heard anything about them before but read good reviews. They were absolutely phenomenal. I hosted the event, planned the event, pulled my hair out attempting to organize the event and the second they walked in the house they completely took over everything. The evening went extremely smoothly, Stephen and Juan are incredibly sweet, charismatic and accommodating. I highly recommend. I have strict dietary restrictions and thus couldn't eat anything however everyone at the party praised the food especially the sliders. Definitely check them out and support such a great little local business.
Comfort food with a big splash of elegance. Quality food at prices that are actually reasonable. The double burger is heaven on a plate. My wife swears by the special as she has it every time
My husband and I just had our wedding reception and brunch catered by Black Apron and we couldn't be happier! The service was amazing and the food was delicious - I would highly recommend the gnocchi! If you are looking to hire a caterer for a special event, Black Apron should be your top choice.
Well worth the stop just off the main road for a great lunch. Steve & Juan prepare your lunch fresh with lots of tasty flavours. They have their daily choice as well as about 15 other great dishes. I've tried their burger as well as a few of the pasta dishes and all were delicious. If you're in that part of town for lunch give them a try and I doubt you'll regret it.
Always fresh, made from scratch -right in front of you. Impeccable value for the taste and quality! They are always quick, even if it's packed as usual. I use them for all my catering and go there weekly for lunch. Hard to find the authentic home-cooked freshness from anywhere else for this value especially with the variety they offer. I have been converting my friends, family, and co-workers to becoming regulars at this awesome little gem! I’ve never had anything I didn’t like –just go HERE!
Hidden Gem . Love love this place . The lunch specials are always good . The chicken bacon Alfredo is sooooo good . The chicken korma is also very tasty . They also do breakfast and on request have made me some really yummy breakfast sandwiches . The two owners and staff are very friendly
Here on a Monday for some brunch and it was busier than usual for a weekday but still great service. Lots of room to sit but on the weekends they do get very busy so come early. Great food and friendly service. Clean restaurant and really cool country meets modern day theme.
Great quality food and service. I love that there's hot sauce, ketchup, salt and pepper at every table. The restaurant has one accessible washroom on the main floor and gendered washrooms down a flight of stairs. The restaurant entrance may not be wheelchair accessible because it has one step before the door.
It’s been a minute since we’ve visited Red’s for brunch, and like always, the service was wonderful. The Pacific Benny (my fave) never disappoints. They serve all day breakfast and have many locations through the city.
This is one of my favourite breakfast places I've ever been to; it reminds me of simpler times and the importance of slowing life down just a little bit. Thank you so much for your hospitality and the fantastic all-day breakfast.
Edit: I updated my review to add another star. I have recently been reminded of how much I miss this place. Red's is heads and shoulders above a lot of the other places.
Great weekend brunch spot! They really have their system on lock, we showed up at 11 on a Saturday and there was a table available. After we ordered food came out right away and our server never let our coffee cups get empty. They definitely turn over fast, which is great as you likely never have to wait even at super busy times. Because of that I wouldn't recommend if you're looking for something more leisurely, but I like to be in and out quick at breakfast so I appreciate the speediness!
Montreal smoked meat hash is amazing, a little pricey but I ended up taking most of it home so definitely great value for two days of food! Husband got the brie and bacon benny, which he said was also good but he wished it had more brie. But hey, cheese prices are stupid rn so it made sense. Hashbrowns and hollandaise were really good too. they have Valentina and Frank's on the tables so you get your pick of hot sauces. Will be going back!
Great food, outstanding service! The restaurant is a nice down home feel atmosphere. The staff is friendly, personable and attentive. You have to eat here, you won’t be disappointed! 😁
Will be back again, be warned they get pretty busy on Sunday mornings, but they always have such great and friendly service. Drinks and food are worth the slightly more pricey cost. All around great diner for a solid feed of breakfast that won't disappoint!!
Nice diner. Huge portions. Chai latte was amazing. Good and quick service.
